So, I finished the cutest little strip work jumper for norah and left it on her to go to Walmart to get some matching ribbon to go with the whole outfit (decoupage jeans too) to show off to the fabric ladies. After we were done shopping, she started coughing . Then gagging....then, you guessed it, HORKED up her Happy Meal alllllllll over it, my coat, and Spongie's backseat. :scared: Yup. It was perfectly clean and pressed and everything.

Oh, and Norah's fine

Did I ever mention the time Zoe got sick - all over me - during an outdoor concert at the zoo? We were on a small blanket surrounded on all sides by people on their own blankets. When Zoe started to get sick, I knew immediately there was no way we could walk through the crowd without her spewing all over them. Being the kind person I am, I pulled her close and tried to keep the worst confined as much as possible. Did I mention it was very HOT and I was in a tank top with built in bra? Guess where the, um, spewage pooled. :rolleyes1 Once I knew she was done, I gathered our stuff and we left as best we could. We stopped at the nearest bathroom where I was able to wash up a little before we walked back to our car. I had a change of clothes in the car for her so she was quickly back to normal but I had to wait until we made the hour long drive home. Needless to say, I was not in the right frame of mind to appreciate the humor until later. What makes me chuckle even now is remembering how she kept asking if we could stop to get something to eat because she was hungry. She didn't understand why eating was just about the LAST thing on my mind. :lmao:

Thanks everyone on the comments on the pillow!:goodvibes . I'm really happy about the way it turned out. I'm so happy that everyone likes it! I showed Dh last night when he go home from work and his response was " oh thats nice, when's dinner?" I just wanted to add though in the last pic of the back it looks lopsided, it's not its just falling over

"Oh my goodness!" (said in my best Giselle from Enchanted voice)

What kind of machine do you have, may I ask? I'm pretty sure my brother 7700 won't do any of that :confused3

:cloud9: What a special gift for a very lucky little girl! :cloud9:

That is just adorable!! Which embroidery machine do you have? That is just amazing...I think I need to start learning to use the embroidery feature of my machine.

WOW WOW WOW - I am super impressed - looks professionally made!! I am also interested in knowing what embroidery machine you have??

I have the Singer Futura sewing / embroidery machine. The heart stitch is done on the basic sewing function just like a straight / zig zag. it has quiet a few decorative stitches from hearts to stars and flowers, and bunnies. The parts holding in the ribbon are just buttonholes.
The font writing is part of the embroidery machine function. it comes with a computer program where you make your designs and then upload it to the machine with a usb cable. It is actually a really easy machine to use. i got it approx may 2007 and didn't have a clue how to sew. i too failed high school home ec!

this is GORGEOUS! I mean GORGEOUS! I would love to have that for my DD.
you did a fabulous job, and I hope that you are very, very proud to present such a fabulous gift!

Thank you! i sent you a pm

Your cousin will love it BECAUSE it is homemade! Those are my favorite gifts...always! That is just beautiful...I LOVE!!! :worship:
ooooh, you have a Blake too! Mine's up for auction right now...he's my 6 year old, let me know if you want another one...he's going cheap!

sorry, i don't think i will take you up on your offer this time - 4 is enough! ;) my blake was actually a 'bailey' for the first half hour of his life, with blake his middle name, but i chanced my mind and swapped them around.

thanks, i hope i didn't offend anyone here with the 'homemade' comment. i love 'homemade' stuff too, which is why i LOVE coming to this board, as like the rest of us. What i was meaning is that money seems to be no object for some and sometimes the bigger the price tag is, is more important than how much time and effort goes into the stuff you make ourselves. so i just hope my cousin realises i have used lots of hours and a few late nights making this because i don't have much time during the day with 4 kids.

Thanks again everyone, you may not realise it but you all really mad my day!

[quote="eeyore3847, post: 23327457"]uggghhhhh this is officially the worst sewing day ever. spent a long time cutting. piecing getting the applique ready. I started from the feet up!
THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not starting again!
[IMG]http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a4/loritaylor3847/th_IMG_0708.jpg

on a side note I did not like how this was turning out anyways
Aww, I'm sorry you are having a bad day!

I got my new machines!!!! WOO HOO!!!! :cool1: You should see these buttonholes! I feel like a new woman! yesssssssssssssssss
Of course, I haven't even opened the serger yet....one step at a time here....
WOO HOO!!!!
Sergers skeer me a little. Is it the one at Walmart? I wonder about that one since it's all I'll ever be able to afford unless I find a used one or something.

I love doing buttonholes with my brother (machine, not sibling). Easy Peazy lemon squeezy!

That pillow is gorgeous! They are going to love it!

Ok let me just say that I am very tired right now. I can barely keep my eyes open. So this is what happened I was the site that shall not be named looking at Mickey Mouse fabric and I bought 4 yards of the Pooh Bear Toile fabric:
th_poohdress.jpg

I know it's not Mickey but I liked it any ways. I don't know who did this outfit, but I think I might CASE it. If that's ok. By the way cute little girl in the pic.
I also bought 3 yards of this fabric:

DH probably won't be very happy that I did this, but Oh well he'll get over it. I need a nap so talk to ya'll later.

That's GloriB's little girl. She is adorable isn't she! Has anyone heard from her, she hasn't posted in awhile.

:guilty: :sad2: I'm so sad!! I was working on the Ltd too outfit in blue and I totally screwed it up!! I cut the pattern to size and put it on DD8 and it looks awful! The top was WAY too small and the bottom was way too big!! I'm so sad!!:sad2: I think I'm going to take a break for a little while and watch all of you to regain my confidence! Maybe I'll focus on the tiered skirts for awhile or check out Teresajoy's bookmarks - they always make me happy! Thank you Teresajoy!

Plus all of you with your wonderful talents - you always make me happy!

When I was in 8th grade I messed up my Mom's sewing machine and she banned me forever from her machine. Years later I think she felt guilty and when I had my little girl she bought me a machine. I made one halloween costume, a sheep. But life got in the way and I never touched the machine. Well you ladies have inspired me so here is what I made.

OK I am tired of working. as much as I love it....I never have anytime to sew! Hold me to it girls and guy I must sew on Saturday afternoon!

Tomorrow I can't in the morning because I have Georgia's IEP meeting at school at 8:30, then I have to go to the store. The dh and dd requested spaghetti for dinner, and they will only eat my homemade sauce! So I have to start that then get ready for work and out the door by 1:30pm. Work until 10pm. Then I do it all again friday. actually I can cut friday since i don't work until 4. But saturday is my day off.

Anyone want to work for me so I can make something!?!?

I have wanted that toile FOREVER! SOOOO dang cute! What're you going to make???? Can't wait to see!!! :)
I might CASE the dress that I originally posted cause that was just too adorable. I'm not exactly sure just yet. I was tired when I bought it and not thinking straight at the time.

I bought that same fabric and it does smell funny!!! Very cute what you've done with it!

About the white peasant dress, I have two words for you ... Bleach Pen!!!!

Hi everyone!

wow, i cant believe we moved again. Been so busy the last few days, i haven't had chance to get on and see everyone creations on this new thread.

I did see the Evil Queen outfit which was absolutely amazing! I love the style of the skirt too -incredible!

I also saw sawyers top - absolutely adorable - the little man and the top!

Here is what has been keeping me busy the last few days- its not clothing but still disney! its for my cousins new daughter who is being baptised this weekend. I am actually really happy with it - its great how proud you feel when something you've pictured in your head actually works out (it doesn't happen for me very often).

I made her this pillow using one of those fabric art pieces. i embroidered princess sayings around the corners-
A dream is a wish your heart makes... cinderella
I know you, i walked with you once upon a dream... Aurora
Someday my prince will come... Snow white
Wish i could be part of your world... Ariel

On the 2 hearts up top is a heart with a B (for brooklyn)
and on the smaller heart one side says- once upon a time... and the other size says - happily ever after...

the back is embroidered too with the babys name and date of the baptism. i love the fabric i used on the back. it is actually just once piece.

i really hope my cousin likes it, even though it is 'homemade'

melissa (28) Dh (40)

This looks much nicer than anything one could buy. I especially like the ribbon through the button holes, it's simple but elegant :thumbsup2 I wish I had an embroidery machine, but with 3 boys I can't justify it :upsidedow

I'm finally caught up again. Work sure does cut into my DISing and sewing time.

There continues to be such wonderful outfits. I'm always in awe.

Thanks for all the compliments on the wheelchair canopy and rain cover. Anyone that uses a wheelchair or ECV at Disney should consider creating one. I cannot tell you how much easier it is than trying to keep dry under a poncho.

 Hang in there!!

lisazoe - umm. ick! Norah's puking didn't act as birth control - but you having to ride home with a vomity bra might make me think twice about kids. :scared:

Whoever made the pillow for the baptism - IT'S BEAUTIMOUS!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to everyone having icky sewing days.
