I love all the chocolate bunnies...BUT, how about some Marshmallow PEEPS! :lovestruc

I spent the last 2 days reading Twillight & New Moon instead of sewing or cleaning or even staying caught up on here. But it was sooooooooo worth it.

I LOVE the Evil Queen outfit. And the chocolate bunny. And the Minnie Mouse (I really need more of that fabric).

Oh & Utahmama.....I think I now have an incredible urge to make a bunny & peeps outfit. Thanks alot.

DD started a new school today and everyone kept complimenting her on her bows and a name tag that I had made her. Well DD then starts telling everyone who will listen that her mommy will be making her some shirts for school and that I make her dresses and shorts and shirts and everything. :cool2: She is very proud of the things that I make her. So Thanks again to you guys for inspiring me to start sewing again.

That is so sweet that she's proud of the things you make her!! That's got to make you feel great!!:cloud9:

you know, I am more of a cadbury egg kind of girl!
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM............CADBURY MINI EGGS!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, those are my FAVORITE candy on the planet. Why did I have to start this darn diet at Easter candy time? :rotfl:

oh I don't read it anymore i listen to it all day Something about not having to hold a book and being able to do other stuff is very appealing to me... although this is like my 3rd time reading them again... ;) :lovestruc

I can't wait to see that outfit Bunny and peeps (somebody has to make that ) anybody???;)

wowzza That is adorable . Maybe for yellow they could find a barrette to go with it... then that would tie the outfit together... okay so if you started it at midnight what time did you finish it???;)

I have at least 10 diff fabrics in the washer right now so that i can get sewing i am so excited  esp. after mama utah showed me Norah's new one OMG!!!!!! :rolleyes1 i had to get the same material so Jayedyn and Norah will be twinners again ... :cutie: :cloud9:

I was thinking maybe I should try to make a bow to go with it. I could emphasize the yellow with that!
I finished around 4:30 AM, just as Corey's alarm was going off. Why in the world does he get up that early??? He doesn't leave for school until after 7AM. He just came out and fell asleep on the couch. I would rather sleep as late as possible!

Did I miss Wendy's outfit or is she holding out on us????? :confused3
Shoot! That turned out great! If she was my DD, she would have had to wear a brown paper bag and a duster feather!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
you know, I am more of a cadbury egg kind of girl!

YUMMY Cadbury Mini Eggs MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

TinaLala- I love the HM comforter that you have for your DD. That is what I was looking for for DD's room, but Wal-Mart just had the one with the big dots on it and it has a HM applique with sequins on it.

I got it at Target. Check online it's about $40 for a twin set. We loved it because dd8's room is purple.

Whuuuut? You didn't clean your house or bathe? :rotfl2: I KNOW! I totally fed my family cold cereal and Eggos when I was reading those 3 books!

PLEASE someone make a PEEP outfit! I think that someone should be meeeee!

I hear ya on the diet thing. And, I can pass along this gem of a tip:

Eating Easter chocolate or Peeps WITH diet Pepsi doesn't make them calorieless. :confused3 On a similar note, eating Reeses while on the tread mill doesn't work either. This I know for fact. Oh, and carrot cake is not a vegetable.

Ok here are the pictures of DD's room.
S2010068.jpg

Aww so cute!! Thanks for sharing the pictures of her room. That is wonderful that she loves it so much!!!

Thanks so much for everyones kind words about my Evil Dress! LOL

It was very time consuming!!!! The pattern was a little tricky to understand. You also have to do a rolled hem to be successful. I sewed 82 rolled hems. It was a labor of love indeed. My daughter loved it and I was a little worried this outfit might give the surprise away. When she was finished trying it on she asked me two questions.

1. Can I wear it to the Chick Fila playground?
2. So, what's next?

I about fell on the floor. I told her of course you can wear it to the "chicken park" and the fairy godmother is next. I swear I do not know what to do when I have 10 days in WDW where I cannot sew anything! LOL

What do you MEAN you don't know what to do for ten days in WDW when you can't sew??? HAVE FUN GIRL!!! Oh and if you REALLY go into withdrawls just head on over to Minnie's house and sit down at her sewing machine and PRETEND!! Hahahaha...ohhh and have someone snap a photo or two. Hahahaha. :lmao:

It's hard to follow Aimee's Evil Queen, but here's one thing I've done lately. This is for my dgd2. I need to get dd2 to try it on, but here it is for now.

I also made some of these for dd2 to wear with her Minnie outfits. Since I took this pic, I've added red/white ribbon for laces. Looks really cute!

I've also created a 3pc Cruella DeVil outfit for dd7 to wear to MGM, but I can't show it yet.

Aww that is so cute!!! AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN NOT SHOW US THE CRUELLA DeVil OUTFIT YET??? It's really NOT nice to leave us hanging like this....:rotfl:

Hey, I was thinking about doind another villain to go with the skirt. What one would you do?

I say Ursula or Malificient!!! Can't wait to see another

I just wanted you all to know that I HATE HATE HATE sewing by hand!!!!

I worked on Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit for 3 hours yesterday. I'm sewing on braiding and such. It has to be done by hand and it's taking forever and as I mentioned, I HATE sewing by hand!!

There, just had to vent!

I do have a question- when using braiding and fancy trim, how do you keep it from coming unraveled? At the store, they taped the ends before they cut it, but I don't want tape on his outfit. I tried hot glueing the ends, but it looks stupid.

Oh I can NOT wait to see his Prince Charming outfit!!!

Repetition for emphasis!

This turned out GREAT Teresa!!!! How sweet of you to make these for them!!!

Whoever said "you can never have enough Minnie dot" was soooo right!

ROCK ON!!!! :hippie:

teresajoy ~ I love the dress! There aren't that many original ways to sew up that Minnie Dot at this point, but you found one. Very cute! Is the big sister dress going to be exactly the same?

jham ~ The gaucho fabric was on sale at my little quilt shop we have in town. They are in a 200 year old house and they turned the old chicken coup into the sale room! So, I bought it in the chicken coup! Does that help enough? Well if not here's what is says on the selvage edge - So you, sew fun 2006 RJR fabrics. Hope that helps.

hmmm...I'll just run out to my nearest chicken coop and check :rotfl: Thanks for the info!

that is cute.

Mmmmmmm....Peeps. I don't know why but I love those things! I even have to buy the Halloween and Valentine's ones now. And I AM pretty sure that if you eat them with Diet Pepsi that they ARE calorieless!!:snooty:

Yuck!

Cadburry eggs make me gag! I can not be the only one here who thinks it's gross to bite into candy and have a yolk in there!!!!!

I'm with you, I don't really like Cadbury eggs, I like Cadbury MINI eggs!!! They're like big M&Ms with cadbury chocolate inside. DEEE-LICIOUS!!!

Everything is lookin' great ladies!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see all the new outfits that will be finished up soon.

I've got to recharge my camera battery so that I can take some pics of Parker's new Strawberry Shortcake outfit. The only thing I have to finish up is the pink/black zebra hair bow!!!

I think I get to be the first person to post a new custom on the thread:cool1:

Here is the Evil Queen. My DD really has a thing for her. LOL

THat is so cool! She will get a lot of compliments in that! When or what park is she going to wear it to?
I asked this in the other thread, but not sure if we are still supposed to post there...so I will repost my question here...
For those of you making button down shirts for your ds..which pattern do you use? I use a McCall pattern, and for some reason, I just can't seem to match up the notches and dots for the sleeves....yet when I put the pattern on my fabric, I have marked them all correctly. I tried another boys top this past weekend, and again...I have problem matching up notches/dots on the sleeves again...so I am thinking it must be me...doing something wrong or not understanding the pattern?
Jenny
I think you are supposed to ease stitch (gather just a little bit) the sleeve so that the notches then line up. This makes the sleeve a little roomier for the arm.

I love the Easter outfit! So cute! When do we get to see Cruella?
I also made these for a friend to go with her Dumbo shirt instead of a skirt.

My daughter would love these! Great Appliques.

I promised a lady at Brian's work that I would make outfits for her Grand daughter's trip to Florida, then realized they are leaving in like a week! :scared1: So, I stayed up last night to get one of the dresses done. They are eating at Chef Mickey's, so I made a Minnie dress. This is for a 2 year old. I still need to make one for the 6 year old though.

All in all, I think it turned out pretty cute! I'm wishing there was maybe a bit more yellow on it, but Brian said it looked perfect the way it was (I love my husband!) and took it to work allready!
DSCF2348.jpg

The back. I retied this silly bow 4 times trying to get it just right to show you guys! But, it still doesn't look right!
DSCF2351_800x600.jpg

I was upset that I didn't have any black and white polka dot fabric, but then I found this cute little flower fabric in my stash. I really like the way it looks.
DSCF2349_800x600.jpg

This is adorable! I am impressed with your late night sewing. My brain shuts down at 10:00 pm. I am a morning person!

Heather SUE!!!
I loved the shirts you made for Sawyer pictured on the other thread! I love seeing little boy things! I am thinking of putting either Flounder or Sebastion on the back of a button down shirt for DS but I can't decide what fabric to use for the shirt.

Can't wait to see the Prince Charming outfit.

So DD10 mentions to me last night, as she is working on her oral book report for tomorrow, she is supposed to DRESS UP for her report.

 Wow I am so impressed you could just whip this up...its absolutely perfect! I love it~:lovestruc

Adorable and I love the flower fabric too! Don't you love it when you have to improvise or be super creative and it comes out better then you thought?   BTW, did you ever check out that website I mentioned about that dog whisperer guy???:confused3

I went to joanns for the sale over the weekend and this somehow ended up in my cart
M_14389_singercg7541.jpg
along with 10 yards of muslin (to make photo backdrops) numerous spools of thread, 7 yards of tulle to make a pettiskirt, (which I finally bought the pattern from ycmt.com) so all in all a very expensive trip! LOL I got the serger set up and it works great! I'm going to tackle the petti this afternoon. We'll see how it goes.
Gee how ever did that happen??? :rotfl: I know I stared at the Futura Embroidary Machine (with the $800 price tag) and was willing it to lower its price. In the end it won out and I left without one :sad1: Garsh that machine looks so cool!

:wizard:
In my travels to Joann's I did pick up some fabric...and thread half price :thumbsup2

Okay I've been lurking on this thread forever and just am in awe by what you all do. I can sew buttons back onto a shirt but haven't ever sewn anything in my life but really want to try. Any suggestions on the best way to start? I have a sewing machine (won it as a prize) but haven't used it ... haven't ever used a sewing machine in fact. Should I just try something?? or Should I try and find a class?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
