Disappointed in seven dwarfs mine ride!

And for those saying Disney overhyped the ride and it's not good. I don't feel that way at all. I think the blogs and forums hyped the ride the most. I live in south florida, and I still have yet to see a Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride commercial on tv. Also heard another group in the park saying that if they hadn't came to the park they wouldn't of even known a new ride was built.

I really enjoyed the ride. The queue line is good, the ride is nice and smooth, pretty good speed, few decent drops, great animatronic/show pieces, visuals, and more. I of course could have gone for huge drops, loops, and corkscrews as I love rollercoasters..but it is a coaster built right in the middle of fantasy land. I think they did great with the space they had. They made a smooth family ride that adults can enjoy with their kids.

I'll definitely be back to ride it.

They didn't look like the dragons from the films or how they were described in the books. JKR was very adamant everything needed to be book/movie canon. Honestly they should have done a massive repaint of the ride tracks and all that too.

I was expecting lots of character/animatronics and there was only 1 scene at the very end. It won't please roller coaster fanatics and is too scary and not interesting for children. After all the hype what happened? Staff at universal were laughing about it!

What did you expect of a ride in 'kiddie land'? It is the Magic Kingdom in 'Fantasyland'!! The 'hype' was done by uninformed people, not Disney.

Unlike you, I really think it will be 'very' interesting to children/families which is what it is supposed to be for. Everyone else welcome, of course.

Oh yes you are drinking the Kool Aid. Again all emotion and no logic at all. I never ever mention Universal Studios, I could care less about that place. I never said that I want WDW to be a thrill ride mecca ever.

What bothers me is that all of you are saying "yes the new attraction that took over 3 years to build and was hyped up the wazoo is nothing spectacular but that's okay, we weren't expecting that. Its okay for Disney to just go at things half *** and we will still stick up for them and flock to their parks."

Sheeple at its best. With all the available technology that is abundant in today's modern society Disney should be building the best attractions ever. Why aren't they? Because the masses are rewarding them for doing things half heartedly.

Disney has excuse after excuse after excuse and the masses believe them. "Space limitations", "new technology breaking down more often", give me a break. Those are as good as the "Animals at AK need to go to bed at 5PM so that is why we have to shut down the park early". Just a bunch of lies so they can make more $$$$.

Sorry, but I don't think I'm sticking up for Disney. If some don't have an issue with it they have to be drinking the Kool-Aid? Disagree. I don't think it is a short coming. I get the kind of theme park experience I'm looking for at WDW. I don't think that makes me a sheeple. Perhaps my expectations are lower than yours. So be it. You're entitled to your opinion....and that's exactly what it is, your opinion. Doesn't make you right, or wrong. I know what I want in a theme park. When WDW no longer meets that need, I'll go elsewhere.

As for 'the animals need to go to bed at 5pm' goes? I think it's a much more basic thing than that. I truly believe it's hard to monitor behavior of guests after dark in that park. I have to believe that's one reason they started closing the park so early. I could be way off base here though. Disney can pretty much do what they want...it's their resort. If people don't like the way disney does things, and they don't want to be there, they don't need to go, whatever the reason.

The one-two punch of Dueling Dragons and The Incredible Hulk scared the crap out of me and turned me off to roller coasters forever. I haven't ridden one with inversions since. Disney can take its RNR and shove it you-know-where. I am totally the target audience for Disney's "kiddie" rides.

Same here. On a hot humid day, my vision can start to black out during the first few inversions on the Hulk.

I've turned into a little old lady when it comes to rides, but I used to love them. I found rnr too much for me, but I enjoyed EE. That one didn't hurt my head for some reason. Hulk was the worst though.

I'd be interested to hear how the new Harry potter is for neck problems.

Whereas I have been on A LOT of intense coasters across the US and the backward part of EE messes with me. I've been on coasters with a backward motion a lot but something about EE makes me think I need to cure my ails with ale. The g forces totally affect me on that ride but it doesn't stop me from riding it 10 times a trip.

I would warn you against riding the latest version of Matterhorn. It's like SM in the daylight and you still can't get off that thing without thinking you've just been the target of a cruel UFC joke.

This is me.

I am toying with the idea of a big trip (paid by me) for me, kids and grandkids in 2016 for my 60th. Yes, I am 57 and still ride all the roller coasters. Dramamine or Bonine and OTC painkillers are my friends. A little Tequila doesn't hurt...mostly in the form of a Margarita.

If it was too hard to monitor guests at night in AK and that is why they close it early, why are they clearly making changes to the park's offerings to make it a full day park? (Like adding the nighttime river show...)

As it stands right now....that's what I've been told by CMs who worked in AK. Can they change it going forward? Sure. I just think that so few attractions can function when it's dark in AK, that they had fewer guests. I'm sure that when the new stuff is up and running, the ability to watch guests will be improved.
Most animals weren't out and about after sunset...which made AK pretty boring. You couldn't do the trails, no safari. With the new stuff coming, things will change.
