My scales are being MEAN!!

or it could be I had too many thin mints, not enough water and forgot the location of the gym

Anyway- up 1 Now I gotta go for 7 by Easter to meet my challenge goal.

whine, whine, nobody's fault but mine.

I am -1.4. Considering the parental visit over the weekend and that I was not very peep-like on Sun/Mon, I will take it.

Kat, thanks for the words of encouragement. I don't know if it's me. I'm thinking that my goals are unrealistic. I have no idea what I should weigh or what's normal. I've lost so much already so I don't think I'm a very good judge of myself, if that makes sense. Right now, I'm wearing size 10's that are pretty baggy but 8's are a little snug for my taste. I want that 8 so badly. But I'm 5'8" and maybe I'm not meant to wear an 8. Sorry, I'm just whining here and that's very out of character for me. And I'm very grateful that I've gotten healthy in both my eating habits and my exercise routines. I do feel so much better and I should just celebrate that.

I hope all of you have a great weekend.

Faith, I am also 5'8". My goal weight is about 145 or so. I have been that before and was happy with it. Unfortunately, I am currently 183. :(

when you say late may are you speaking of just the last half of may or memorial day weekend? the reason i'm asking is i've heard may is actually really nice. i've been in early may and it was AWESOME. i think late may isn't too bad either....except for memorial day weekend. i know that some of our peeps have been in late may. kat? lynda? anyone else? i may be wrong about that though.

We went the week of May 13 last year, and it was great... warm, but not too crowded. This year we are going May 18-23 so I will see how bad it is...

I AM taking a free pass today. I know I only have 1 and I am using it.

BTW I had a very nice salad for lunch. I haven't been awful, I am just sick of being sick. My kids are sick, my husband is sick, we don't sleep cause of all the coughing. I just need to get through all this.

So, I am using my free pass.:snooty:

Monica- I put a "F" in your column for "free"....I've gained!!!!! My last 2 weeks have been gainers. :scared1: !!!

I will be there in May as well staying at the bcv from may 14th leaving the following wed may 21st.

Last year we went may 5th to the 12th and I loved it! better than our time in late october. im hoping for the best going a week later this year.

i will let you know how it is when i return

DF is feeling much better. I don't know if it's his new diet, that he quit smoking, he's getting exercise, or if it's just a break before he has another relapse, (he'll be fine for months, and then be horribly weak for months,) but he's decided he wants to go to Disney World.

A week ago he was too tired to do nothing more then a few errands for work. But now that he feels better, he wants to go to Disney. Actually, I think it's his son that wants to go, but he said something to me this morning about maybe going in the summer.

I'm not going to hold my breath though, the last time we had plans to go to Disney he ended up in the hospital right before we were supposed to go. So I would hate to plan a whole new trip, only to have him get sick again. He wants to wait awhile to book anything, and make sure he still feels up to it closer to when he wants to go. I'm thinking he should book it now, and then cancel it if he doesn't feel up to going when the time comes.

Then there's the whole matter of when he wants to go, he said summer, though I would prefer to go in the late spring, less crowds, less heat, it would probably be better for him then going in the summer. Plus if we went is May instead of June or July, we could be there for the Flower and Garden festival, and go to a Pirate and Princess Party, and his birthday is in May, so we could celebrate that there if we go that week.

See, this is what happens. DF says one thing to me about thinking about going, and by the next time we talk, I have a whole plan made up about what would be the best time to go. :rolleyes1

I am the more rational one though, at least when it comes to planning. He wants to stay at the Grand Floridian, which he can afford, and I would love to stay there, but it's not really necessary. He's a big believer in only doing the "best" on vacation. And the GF, is the best among Disney hotels. He's never even been there and he knows that. He did have the GF booked for us when we were supposed to go in November, (when he ended up in the hospital.)

Then there's the whole matter of wether or not we should book the dining plan. I'm against it. Yes, I'll book it when it's free, (or when I can get the deluxe plan for $32 a night,) but I would never eat that much food OOP to rationalize getting the deluxe plan, if we had to pay the $70 a night, and there are quite a few reasons why I don't like the basic plan. Last year he had booked with the basic plan, and I was fine with it, since it still included the tip and appetizer then, but without those, I don't think it's worth it. Plus it's only one TS meal a day, and I like doing at least two TS meals a day usually. It's still his decision in the end, since he'll be the one paying for it.

I still think we should get priorities straight, and we should really rent an apartment or something first before planning anymore trips. But it's not exactly hard to talk me into taking a trip to Disney World, LOL. But it's his money, so I can't tell him what to do with it, though he swears we'll get an apartment soon.

I am up 4.5 lbs.I have been very nonpeepish this week.I had major stress and went back to my old ways of eting to make myself feel better.I haven't had internet for two days so I hope I haven't missed much.:grouphug:

Ok, this is my first week reporting in as a peep... I am down -3 pounds for this first week. It's been a rollercoaster week - hope to do better next week!

I'm +2 lbs. this week. :scared1:

Thanks to everyone who gave input about going to DW in the month of June. I'm still unsure of when we will go next year. I do know that the only times that we can go are late May, June, July, and Christmas. We would like to avoid going in December just because we want to take advantage of the water parks & we would love to go out at night to a park without having to bundle up. Crowds? I thought that Christmas was the worst as far as crowd level? Although, I truly didn't think it was that bad when went to the parks early or late for EMH. That plan would also be what we would use in the warmer months as well. I don't know what to do. :confused3 It's a good thing are trip isn't until next year. I will need that much time to figure out our dates.

We go in late May every year now. (Our anniversary is May 18th.) It is a GREAT time to go! It is warm, but not like it is June - September. We went in September last year, and the humidity was ten times worse. Crowds are not bad in May, and we stay until the Saturday before Memorial Day, and we usually have no trouble with crowds. (We usually spend that last Saturday doing breakfast at 'Ohana and shopping at DTD.) We also have gone at the end of November/beginning of December twice, and it is a really nice time to go too. It is not crowded then either, the Christmas stuff is up, and the weather is usually in the 60's and 70's. But May is my favorite time to go! :thumbsup2

I need to find some motivation! I feel myself slipping into "easier ways" and being lazy. Just writing that sentence will probably be enough to cattle prod me back to dieting better and getting ON the tread mill.

Just do it! Seriously though, you can do it. I know it's tough without the motivation, but if it helps, sometimes if I just make myself exercise or eat right a little bit, it makes me feel empowered and it's easier to do more.

by the way, i had to share this with you guys. i did a book review yesterday for expotv and eli (my youngest beagle) decided to make a cameo. i had no idea you could see him in the frame but you can. isn't he a cutie?????? he's my little fat man.

So cute! :goodvibes He HAD to sniff the book, of course. I know Jasper HAS to sniff EVERYTHING! It'd be so much fun to get them together.

We went the week of May 13 last year, and it was great... warm, but not too crowded. This year we are going May 18-23 so I will see how bad it is...

It isn't bad at all, and we'll be there at the same time! We are there the 16-24!

Duh! Forgot to post my weigh in! First of all, I have a new scale. It reads about 2 lbs lower than my old scale, so keep that in mind when I tell you that I am down 4.2 lbs! That brings me down to 211 lbs! Which means I've lost 39 lbs overall, and I am getting really excited about getting below 200. Hey! I just realized I need to change my bling! :woohoo: Oh, and DH has lost about 30 lbs himself! :thumbsup2

can i just get a show of hands, please? how many of you know that you should tip 20% for good service???? just wondering.:rolleyes1

Dawn, I tip 20% for average service as that is the norm here. I leave a bit more than that if it's good service.

Once, in a galaxy far far away, I waited tables for 2 weeks. I consider myself to be a workaholic, a hard worker. Before college, I worked packing fruit, worked on an assembly line in a factory, etc. I even survived my 2 months of military boot camp training. Nothing, nothing I've ever done was as hard as those 2 weeks of waitressing. Not only is it brutal physically, but you have to do it with a smile, even when some toad of a person is pushing every button on you.

So I gladly leave my 20-25% in recognition for the hard work.

I lost - I'm going to say -2 pounds - I'm almost back to twenty pounds lost total. (It has taken two years!)

I can't remember - are you doing weight training in addition to cardio? that can really make a difference - maybe in how comfortably that size 8 might fit.

honestly i think of all your choices that late may would be the best. the crowds will probably be manageable and it'll be hot but nothing like june/july. plus i think the more crowded the park, the hotter it seems!

IWe went the week of May 13 last year, and it was great... warm, but not too crowded. This year we are going May 18-23 so I will see how bad it is...

and I didn't quote Lynda, but I agree with all of them. We went May 18 -25 last year and had a great trip. It is definitely starting to feel "summery" - plenty warm for water parks, but we didn't have long waits or overwhelming crowds, I didn't think.

I'm back from Disneyland and only up 1 lb. It was really .8, but I like to round it off. We had a great time. I'll either add my TR to my previous one, or just do a 1 post report.
So I was very un-peep like last night! 2 many drinks!!!

My fiance and I went out to dinner at this Japanese restaurant last night in Manhattan last night called Ninja!..
OMG! That was so funny, I chased my family with the laptop and read your post. We all want to go!

I only have a couple of more months of school and then maybe I can be a regular peep again. I really miss you guys! :grouphug:
We miss you too. glad you found us.

Just checking in to say tomorrow is baby day :goodvibes I will be going in around 10 and the baby will be coming around noon (central time) I will be in the hospital until Sat most likely, and then I will be home to post some pictures. I still cant believe it is over! I dont feel ready AT ALL. I am sad that Amanda will not be my baby anymore, and excited that she will get to be a big sister at the same time. It is going to be SO weird to have another child by this time tomorrow! I gained the exact same amount this time around (16 pounds), which is so weird that it worked out that way. But they say he will be only around 7 pounds, and Amanda was so much bigger. It will be weird to have a baby sized baby :rotfl:
Hope it has all gone well for you. I was just talking about you, because my niece just went in to have the :jumping3: :jumping3: reduced.
Welcome to your baby boy. I can't wait to see the pics.
Just came back from the Dr. for the girls rechecks. Mal's has an ear infection. Just makes me mad that Saturday I know they didn't see one, and today she has a majorly funky looking ear. Has had a fever since Friday night.

She is miserable, but managable. She is a trooper, and baby is fine.

Trying to get the prescription is a whole nother story.

Dr. office faxed it over for my convenience. Go to CVS, the snarky lady sticks her head out the window and says, you can't just expect to drive over here and pick up the script. We didn't even receive it yet, those things take time.

Well the last time I used technology like a fax, it takes seconds to send info. I just looked at her, held my tongue cause I was taught to and drove away.

I called the Dr.s office from the parking lot, and they called CVS and sure enough, it was there. To avoid a scene I went home and sent DH to pick it up.
Good that DH went. I get so frustrated in the pharmacy. For heaven's sake, people are there because someone feels bad. Can't they be considerate at least?

OMG!!! I was attacked by the Girl Scout Cookies last night myself :scared1: I bought 2 boxes and put them on the table in the breakroom and instructed the rest of my co-workers to eat them all- that there was no way I could go home with any cookies. I did have a few thin mints. So I guess I'll be on lettuce and water the rest of the week.

They got me at Bible study last night. I'm afraid they'll show up on next week's weigh-in.
Pixie Dust Please-

Round Two of the stomach flu at my house. I am walking around spraying Lysol like I'm warding off evil spirits. :rotfl: :rotfl: We've been up since 4 am and my little one is so puny :sad2:
 pixiedust:

Hop back on the wagon. And  for the stress.

can i just get a show of hands, please? how many of you know that you should tip 20% for good service???? just wondering.:rolleyes1
:wave2: but then I did a lot of waitressing in high school/college. I also tip housekeeping in hotels, and the person who staffs the continental breakfast and the shuttle bus driver. All the "carp"-pay service jobs. I wish businesses would just pay a decent wage and cut out the tipping, but as things stand now, I think it's important.

I am a reformed "tipper". I always knew that servers made "sub-minimum" but until my daughter started working as a server I never realized how "minimum" it was. I now tip at least 20% -
