DF is feeling much better. I don't know if it's his new diet, that he quit smoking, he's getting exercise, or if it's just a break before he has another relapse, (he'll be fine for months, and then be horribly weak for months,) but he's decided he wants to go to Disney World.
A week ago he was too tired to do nothing more then a few errands for work. But now that he feels better, he wants to go to Disney. Actually, I think it's his son that wants to go, but he said something to me this morning about maybe going in the summer.
I'm not going to hold my breath though, the last time we had plans to go to Disney he ended up in the hospital right before we were supposed to go. So I would hate to plan a whole new trip, only to have him get sick again. He wants to wait awhile to book anything, and make sure he still feels up to it closer to when he wants to go. I'm thinking he should book it now, and then cancel it if he doesn't feel up to going when the time comes.
Then there's the whole matter of when he wants to go, he said summer, though I would prefer to go in the late spring, less crowds, less heat, it would probably be better for him then going in the summer. Plus if we went is May instead of June or July, we could be there for the Flower and Garden festival, and go to a Pirate and Princess Party, and his birthday is in May, so we could celebrate that there if we go that week.
See, this is what happens. DF says one thing to me about thinking about going, and by the next time we talk, I have a whole plan made up about what would be the best time to go.
I am the more rational one though, at least when it comes to planning. He wants to stay at the Grand Floridian, which he can afford, and I would love to stay there, but it's not really necessary. He's a big believer in only doing the "best" on vacation. And the GF, is the best among Disney hotels. He's never even been there and he knows that. He did have the GF booked for us when we were supposed to go in November, (when he ended up in the hospital.)
Then there's the whole matter of wether or not we should book the dining plan. I'm against it. Yes, I'll book it when it's free, (or when I can get the deluxe plan for $32 a night,) but I would never eat that much food OOP to rationalize getting the deluxe plan, if we had to pay the $70 a night, and there are quite a few reasons why I don't like the basic plan. Last year he had booked with the basic plan, and I was fine with it, since it still included the tip and appetizer then, but without those, I don't think it's worth it. Plus it's only one TS meal a day, and I like doing at least two TS meals a day usually. It's still his decision in the end, since he'll be the one paying for it.
I still think we should get priorities straight, and we should really rent an apartment or something first before planning anymore trips. But it's not exactly hard to talk me into taking a trip to Disney World, LOL. But it's his money, so I can't tell him what to do with it, though he swears we'll get an apartment soon.
