Welcome! I'm doing the same as you -- WW online, trying to lose some weight before our trip in September. So far I've lost 13 pounds since the start of the year, 37 in about two years (I took a year and three months off from WW after I got married Aug '05, so about 37 pounds in 7 1/2 non-consecutive months).

Thanks for the kind words! I lost 20 pounds in about three months a few years ago. I have since gained it all back and added another 10. But the good news is that I know I can lose the weight if I make the effort to. So now I just need to focus on making the effort! So far so good!

Melissa

Good afternoon everyone (or good evening to all you east-coasters)!
I hope everyone is succeeding in today's challenge of keeping on the diet and exercising.

Today is my third consecutive day of exercising and I am so proud of myself. Usually I work out two days in a row and then decide I should take a break the third day but never continue past that. It's a really bad habit.

I hear you on the exercise! I hate it too! The first week is always the most difficult for me, then it gets easier from there. Keep it up! How far away from Disneyland are you? I can make it from front door to Main Street in about half an hour. It is a great place to take a walk if you have an AP!

I can make it there within 45minutes if traffic is good. If I had a car (can't drive yet even though I'm 18) and more money ;) I would definitely go there. That'd be SO much fun.

Good evening everybody!!

dance2874- do you teach or take? My girls are doing tap, jazz, and pointe this year. They have both danced for 8 years. My oldest is more serious than the youngest. She wants to do competition dance with her studio next year- I dont know- seems expensive to me. I'm just hoping to get some college money out of my dance investment.

I'm on the wagon again- I'm going to hold on with all my strength this time. Diet is struggling- going to get my WW stuff out and really keep track- I thought about ditching the gym today but I dragged myself off the couch and am headed that way now- I know I'll never get where I want to be just wishing or thinking about it.

Well, got to get movin':hippie:

Afternoon everyone.... Um you see the Pic I posted for you? And did your surprise ever come?

No, which picture? And no surprise....:guilty: Misty lets me look at hers sometimes, though. It's ok, I'll just make one out of a thick rubber band and a sharpee marker (just kidding).

Love Ya Aries!!!

Misty - Your pup is adorable! I love her furry little feet.

I sort of have an obsession with dog feet :confused3 Not in a gross foot fetish way, just I think they are so cute. I especially love my dog's feet (standard poodle). Have you ever really looked at a Jack Russell's feet (no offense if any of you own one), but they look like rat's feet. Definitely not cute.

Oh another random - and I do mean random - thought on dog feet. If you have a dog, smell their feet. Seriously. Go smell them. They smell like Frito's right? Or some kind of chip? My mom thinks I'm nuts and refuses to do it, but one day I googled it and there were tons of sites talking about it - something with their sweat combined with dirt, etc. makes their feet smell like fritos. Ummm...anyway... :rolleyes1

'Sup Grumpy! :wave2:

Shannon & others struggling with staying on the wagon - I like to look at a picture of myself at or near my goal weight for inspiration. Also, one of the things that really helped me change my frame of mind when I started out this time was actually something I read here on the Peep thread! It might have even been before I joined officially. I don't remember. I don't remember who posted it either. (sorry!) But it was talking about putting signs on your fridge, cabinets, etc. that said "The answers are not in here!" It just made so much sense to me. And I often think of that phrase when I really want something I shouldn't have. For me, it works. I just have to have a little conversation with myself in my head sometimes. Like, "Hey, you know you are stronger than this "urge" you are having. And what you put in your mouth is going to affect not only the way you look, but also the way you feel, both physically and mentally. You really have to look at the big picture here! If you don't stick with this, it will not work, and you will be right back where you have been so many times before, and it's not a good place. Just do it this time! And you will feel SOOOOOOOO good about yourself - much better than any sugary/greasy/bad-for-you snack that you could possibly find! Now, what is really bugging you? Deal with that!" Then, I usually tell myself to get off my high horse and agree not to eat whatever it was I was thinking about eating. :rotfl: Actually, it really works for me, but you have to find whatever it is that works for you. Oh, I just had a thought! If you know when you joined this thread, you could go back and read your early posts to see if it would remind you of what kind of frame of mind you were in when you started this journey and maybe to recapture that feeling? :confused3

Lynda...I am having a bad week...what am I saying... month!!!Just got on to find some inspiration to start all over againand yours was the first post I read. So tomorrow is a new day....and I think I am going to go make some of those signs for my cabinets now. Thank you!

Okay...off to work...thanks for all the well wishes and misses...I feel loved

I will start with the easy stuff first. My name is Mariann, I live in Wisconsin. I have 3 kids DD 19 and twin DS 10. I have been married for 22 years. I teach dance, music, and acting. I also run the Religious Education Dept. at my church.

Now for the harder stuff. I have been gaining weight for the last 22 years hmmmmm! maybe there is a connection married 22 years gaining weight 22 years. Last April I was at my doctors office having routine blood work. All of my numbers were higher than they had been. Nothing that needed immediate attention, but it was a huge warning sign to me. At the same time I was planning our trip to Disney. I was worried that I would not fit in the seat on the plane or maybe I would have trouble getting in and out of the rides.
So the next week I went to Weight Watchers, I stepped on the scale it said 284 lbs:scared1: , someone must of been on the scale with me :rotfl: I looked but know one was their.

I have been on WW since May. I also exercise 5-6 times a week. I have lost 80 lbs and have 38 more to go. I have committed myself to running 3 5k's this year and the Minnie 15k next May. I probably should be committed. :rotfl2:

I have a Jack/Rat (Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix) and her feet do look like a rat's feet. Never thought about it. We just adopted her at the first of the year.

Love her dearly in spite of her feet. ;) :rotfl: :rotfl2: Gonna have to smell them somewhere private. Don't want my family thinking I have lost it or something. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: I'll have to compare the two dogs feet and see what they both smell like. :snooty: (me sniffin')

WELCOME!! Thank you for sharing!! I'm Sandy, I have a (*gulp) 21 yr ds (who just got engaged!! Wedding date '09) an 18 DS (both are at Univ of IL) and a "surprise" ten yr old DD (who acts so much like a teenager, its scary to me!!) DH and I just celebrated 25th Wedding anniversary (we went to DISNEYWORLD!!) and lately I decided I wanted to be more active - I couldnt agree more with the assesment of "who is on this scale next to me?" I'm a permanant subsitute - and I have a strong faith - it sustains me - I'm continually amazed at how many gather here to pray, and believe, and support!! God is Good!!

Dawn I never do parties, I really am surprised, but at least 2 of my online friends are going to order!! :yea: and I'm thinking this is a good investment in an "engagement gift"!! Take care of yourself, heal, put out good, positive vibes in this world, and let us know how things progress for you!! :grouphug:

Hello Ladies and Gents! I've been out of the loop for a while, but I am trying to play catch up (why do I feel like that is always what I am doing...)

Anyways, welcome back Dawn - glad you ar better. And UM - hope you are all better too!

Welcome to all the newbies!!!

Bradfor - what part of Sconi are you from? My DBF is from Mukwonago, but moved down here to GA 4 years ago...he likes the year 'round golf!

To everyone in need of encouragement, I have a new favorite saying...in wise words of Miss Scarlet O'Hare - "After all, tomorrow is another day!"

I love my dogs- BUT I'm not smelling their feet.:thumbsup2

We started with one - an austrailian shepard mix- very smart, very quick and agile and loyal to her "mama"- She is not particularly cute though- only a face a mother could love. If you are familiar with the breed, none of them are really cute.

Our latest addition to the family was a stray who was a very cute blonde fuzzy puppy- He is now a 100 pound 10 month old  Kinda looks like a Mastif. Very BIG and clumsy. He loves marshmallows though:rotfl:

My dogs live outside- hence why I wont be smelling their feet-

All the pet pics I've seen posted are adorable and my youngest daughter the aspiring vet just loves them.

I'm back from the gym- I did 10 min on the eliptical and 2 reps on all the weight machines. I feel great!!!

Thanks sooo much!!!! I was not the "party type" person either but I have found in my 5 years of Tupperware...All people love the plastic!! It saves you money over baggies, cheapo replicas etc...because people always have to replace them and thus spend more than buying a warrantied item in the first place. I love when people say..."Tupperware...they still sell Tupperware?" and when I say yes...that I have had 6 cars in 5 years...10 trips , TV's Coach purses etc..and am the bread winner of the family only working 20 hours a week...They always blink..and say.."I didn't know Tupperware was still around""" Love the blink of awe;) !!

Anyway great idea for engagement gifts!!! I do a lot of bridal showers! Let me know if ya have any specific ?'s

oh yeah...guess where my DD and I are going April 5-10th???? :cool1:
Yeah Baby...the mouse is gonna get his tail pinched by Dizneydawn.

MamaBear Jo was already going...she had no adult to be with and her DD2 is my DD Best friend....so who needs a vacation...me...and I love the fact they are not Disney Fanatics so I think I can write off the trip as a donation...What better cause is there???

BTW...the zipp you are about to hear is me...
(NO YOU SICKO's...not that zip......)
entering a bubble so I do not have any more misshaps!! :rotfl2:
