Good evening everybody!!

dance2874- do you teach or take? My girls are doing tap, jazz, and pointe this year. They have both danced for 8 years. My oldest is more serious than the youngest. She wants to do competition dance with her studio next year- I dont know- seems expensive to me. I'm just hoping to get some college money out of my dance investment.

I'm on the wagon again- I'm going to hold on with all my strength this time. Diet is struggling- going to get my WW stuff out and really keep track- I thought about ditching the gym today but I dragged myself off the couch and am headed that way now- I know I'll never get where I want to be just wishing or thinking about it.

Well, got to get movin':hippie:

I teach. (looks like we have something in common Bradford!) I was a dance major in college and now I teach mostly preschoolers. I found that they truly LOVE it, and as they get older more parents are forcing it on them instead of them being their for the love of it. As for the competitions...I am sort of split on how I feel about those. I know tons of studios do them, but they usually are the ones that spend 90% of their class times learning routines for them instead of teaching technique. That bugs me. (If it is a separate class or rehearsal and the class time is still technique than that is different) And performing is a great confidence booster and does wonders for bringing a rather shy kid out of their shell a bit. Or at least it did for me ;) I never competed with my studio, I was on my HS dance team (captain for 2 yrs in fact) and I competed that way. I guess before spending the $$ on it I would have a serious conversation about what they want to get from it. If they are in it to keep going and maybe make it a career, then of course you want to encourage it. Maybe ask her to help 'earn' the money for it by helping you with things to show she is serious about it? I know my mom did. If they are just in it for the fun, that is great too...but I would not spend the $$ unless I had extra to spare, and my mom never did. Those pointe shoes are pricey, huh?!:scared1: I went through about a pair a month at $60 or more a pop. Ouch. There are scholarships out there but they are few and far between from what I remember. Guess you didnt exactly ask for my opinion, huh? Oops...I tend to ramble on subjects I am very interested in :rotfl: I better stop...I could go on and on and on...

Howdy Peeps! We finally got our new excercise bike! Woo Hoo!! I rode 2.5 miles Mon and 2.5 miles tonight. My bum is a little sore.

Dizneydawn I wish I felt prouder of myself, but i have had a hard getting under 200 lbs. I have 5 more lbs to go to get to my next intrem goal.

Every moment in your life brings you to the place you are right now. God gives you tools..some hard to use...and eventually you get to the garden. Use those tools...the ones easiest to use brings you comfort...the hardest to use...brings the growth.

Recently I have grown a lot...learning to love myself...in spite of my flaws...and ya know the great part of those tools you collect...if someone hurts you...grab a hoe and whack the crap out of them. :rotfl:

Okay...sorry but I had to put something smart mouthy...I haven't had one in a while..

Seriously...do grow...the scariest things brings you the farthest. Into loving yourself and loving others because when you don't really love yourself..you can't ever love like God intended you to.

It's like weeds choking a garden...the plants may grow...but never to their fullest potential.:cloud9:

there's a show on TLC right now about morbid obesity. i've only watched a few minutes of it, but it's very interesting and got me thinking even more about what i put into my body and how my body reacts to it. not that i'm anywhere near being morbidly obese - i hate it when people think they're bigger than they are and all you hear is "i'm so fat, blah, blah, blah"....didn't want to give that impression.

anyway, just wanted to let you guys know it was on for those of you looking for something for a little inspiration. :)

oh, and as i was watching it and listening to these people talk about how they want to stop eating but can't and how they're slowly killing themselves, i wanted to scream at them, "just go to the disboards and talk to the peeps!!!! they're all the encouragement you need!!!!!!" :rotfl:

Misty - Your pup is adorable! I love her furry little feet.

I sort of have an obsession with dog feet :confused3 Not in a gross foot fetish way, just I think they are so cute. I especially love my dog's feet (standard poodle). Have you ever really looked at a Jack Russell's feet (no offense if any of you own one), but they look like rat's feet. Definitely not cute.

Oh another random - and I do mean random - thought on dog feet. If you have a dog, smell their feet. Seriously. Go smell them. They smell like Frito's right? Or some kind of chip? My mom thinks I'm nuts and refuses to do it, but one day I googled it and there were tons of sites talking about it - something with their sweat combined with dirt, etc. makes their feet smell like fritos. Ummm...anyway... :rolleyes1

'Sup Grumpy! :wave2:
thanks i love her she is my 2nd daughter and is spoiled like her too:rotfl:

my older beagle (i have 2) always smells like cool ranch doritos! i just thought it was because he ate a whole bag that DH left out one time by accident and the smell continues (about 6 years later) to seep through his skin. but i guess that was just dumb on my part!!!
don't feel bad i have thought worse .. how funny though i gotta smell Daizie's paws,

cute cute cute...

okay i have to confess i gave Daizie a bath tonight but not Mayson Only because he fell asleep and i did not have the heart to wake him up, just did a baby wipe bath.
i thought i had lost my daughter tonight she was whiney so i told her to go to her room and go to bed in a gruff mom's had it shout:sad2: and then could not find her in a panic we searched the whole house inside and out and nothing then i searched downstairs one more time and as tears are streaming down my face i look in the boy's top bunk and there she is sound asleep...:scared1:
let's say i am done for the night.. good night all:grouphug: too alll

OOooooo Count me in!

Welcome! Good for you... wish my DD19 would do the same!

Wow, Dene'! Your eating plan is hard core!

It was a little tough at first... now, its no biggie... and I don't eat things I don't like just because they are "good for me".

It seems no matter what/how much I eat I can't lose.

Is it possible that exercise might help? (Couldn't remember if you exercise already or not...)

keep on PEEPIN' on

:thumbsup2

For me it was not fitting on a rollercoaster seat

I don't think I ever mentioned it here before, but DH and I have been taking his youngest sis to Cedar Point the past couple of years for her birthday (in July). I am sure we will do it again this year. Now, I LOVE me some rollercoasters, and even I was nervous about riding one of them a few years ago when we went with a friend of Josh's. Well, the past 2 years when we have taken DSIL, I have gotten up the nerve to do it (mostly because of her youthful enthusiasm - she is going to be 20 this year), and I can't ride because I can't get the belt fastened! There are a lot of people who have to walk away, but I feel awful when I can't ride it even though I want to! So, another goal for me...be able to ride Millenium Force this year at Cedar Point!

Goal of mine... to go on a Mega Rollercoaster "Tour". I LOVE coasters will only ride them at Disney... where I know I'll fit.

Ok, can I be nosey and ask what you are planning to have done? :scared: I want to have a "twin" reduction when I am done losing weight and after my next (and last) baby, maybe a tummy tuck if I can afford that too. I have alot of loose skin and stretch marks from my baby, and I already have a c-section scar, so why not.

Right now I'm researching... laser work on varicose/spider veins, mole removal, and laser hair removal for the legs/underarms (I know it can be done in a spa... but, I'm thinking of long-term relationship with doc... but not THAT kind of relationship). Later, I KNOW I'll have to have a tummy tuck... skin has been stretched too much for too long. I also have a 15 year old umbilical hernia that I hope can be repaired at the same time as the tummy tuck (regular doc said since its so old, to just wait until I finished losing weight to fix it). Plus, I figure the girls might also need a "refill" by then :lmao: And I know this is more vain than practical... but I noticed that I have my grandmother's eyelids.

I'm back from the gym- I did 10 min on the eliptical and 2 reps on all the weight machines. I feel great!!!

I'm impressed... I can only do the elliptical for about 2 minutes at a time. You go girl! :yay:

Grumpy... you've been doing great... any secrets you care to share?:listen:

If we're sharing puppies I have to introduce you to my Jake! Jake is a four year olf golden retriever mix (read mutt). My family adopted him while I was living at home, and Jake continues to live there. I get to see him about once a month. I get to see him this weekend though. Jake loves attention from stangers and tummy rubs while lying in the sun. Meet Jake:

OMG - sooooo cute. I feel like a dog snob with my fancy pants purebred (she is so not fancy - and neither am I) but I think the scruffier and mutt-ier the dog is - the cuter they are! Seriously - Jake is adorable. Here is my Phoebe "all dressed up" for her Halloween walk. No I don't normally torture her with clothes and hats but it was Halloween and the old man down the street got a kick out of it.

IMG_0772.jpg

I'm such a huge animal lover in general. I'm the person that will watch the news and hear about some tragic story where a family and their family dog were injured (or worse :sad1: ) and I go "oh that poor dog". I do feel bad for the people, but animals are so helpless.

Like this morning, I was stopped at the light and I see one lane of cars stopped and everyone moving into the next lane. Couldn't see what it was until I saw a man stand up and a VERY frightened looking lab walking down the road. Tears welled up immediately in my eyes. I'm not sure if he was actually hit - if so, it couldn't have been too major because he was walking around - just looked very scared. I might have given a little obsence hand gesture to the car behind me who was honking like a maniac even though I could not go because all the cars were stopped :sad2: . Anyway, about 3 cars actually stopped in a very busy road and were attempting to catch the pup. All I could do at that point was say a prayer for the dog and thank God that those people were kind enough to even attempt to catch and help him.

ok - off to bed. :cloud9: Although I'm so not tired.

Awww. Phoebe isn't a snob just because she knows who her parents are, and you are not a snob for loving her! She looks so cute in her costume! Jake dresses up on Halloween too, He has been Woody from Toy Story for three years now. Jake mans the door for trick-or-treaters, desperately hoping for some extra attention from the kids. Jake's first family had three small children, and he loves to play with kids. Especially when they chase him. Two more days until I get to see my baby!

Hi Harley :wave2:

BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH?!? BUT WHY???
IT'S THE FABULOUS BIRTHDAY OF TWO OF OUR FAVORITE PEEPS....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TWINKIE!!!
AND
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNNAN NANCY!!!
5.gif

GOOD MORNING, PEEPS!!! :sunny:
That wagon must be pretty full, because I keep falling out! We need seatbelts :thumbsup2
Hang on, Shannon! Your week will get better!
I have committed myself to running 3 5k's this year and the Minnie 15k next May. I probably should be committed. :rotfl2:
Mariann....your weight loss is inspiring! Way to get in there and get it done! I'm thinking of doing a 5K at the end of April. :scared:
If you have a dog, smell their feet. Seriously. Go smell them.
:scared: No thanks. I always keep quiet when you guys talk about dogs....but OK! I have a dog. We took her on a one year lease for DH's niece who was going to spend a year in China and couldn't take her dog. That was in 1995. She's a 15.5 year old fox terrier and is blind, deaf, and her equilibrium is a little off. I think she may have had a stroke about 2 years ago. The vet didn't agree but well...one day she was fine and the next...stubbling all over the place. We can't let her sleep on the bed anymore for fear she will fall off and hurt herself. She's just barely hanging in there. Her name is Lily.

Oh...and the real reason I quoted you here is because I wanted to say how cute Phoebe looks in her costume. Our neighbor's dog trick or treats as "the King" every year.
Yesterday's totals...
Just wanted to say "Hi"....you're always an inspiration to us all, Lynda. Hey! Mimi's youth group goes to Cedar Point every year. She rode Millinnium Force several times last year!
Every moment in your life brings you to the place you are right now. God gives you tools..some hard to use...and eventually you get to the garden. Use those tools...the ones easiest to use brings you comfort...the hardest to use...brings the growth.
Beautifully said, Dawn.
i wanted to scream at them, "just go to the disboards and talk to the peeps!!!! they're all the encouragement you need!!!!!!" :rotfl:
:rotfl2:
I'm impressed... I can only do the elliptical for about 2 minutes at a time. You go girl! :yay:
I watch people doing the elliptical while I'm walking on the track. I'm gonna have to figure it out if it's more challenging. I'm tired of lapping all those people on the track.

WHERE'S FIDGE and DANIELLE???

SANDY...

STACEY.....I seriously hope you are sleeping!

GRUMPY
.....:wave2: Are you just going to bed or just getting up??

HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYONE....ESPECIALLY THE BIRTHDAY GIRLS!
:flower3:

Hi All.

Dawn- So glad you get to go to the MOUSE! Nothing like a little Pixie Dust to make a girl feel better.

Welocme to the Newbies.

Melinda- I believe Grumpy was up part of the night. He is back to resting now, I am sure he will lurk later.

Now, Guess what? I went back to the YMCA last night walked on the tread mill for 40 minutes and went swimming for about 30-45 minutes. Baby steps!

I have my EXAM for work tomorrow. After that they will "LET" me talk to the public.. lol.

Anyway, love all y'all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINKIE & ANNNAN!!!
:rockband: :cake: :bday: party:

Thank-you to everyone for the support and ideas! I do need to figure out what is going on in my head. I do need to add more exercise. I do need to take time for me. Now to figure out how to do all that! It's gonna be a rough road, but I'll do it.

Off to get ready for work and pack food for lunch & snacks. See you Peeps later!!! :wave2:

Have a good food day everyone!!!!:upsidedow

wow! you peeps are amazing- I have been seriously MIA and yet you remember my birthday!!!

Thanks!

Twinkie news: My house is on the market. I have three preschoolers so I spend my time following them around the house putting away whatever they take out. When they nap/go to preschool I take a break and vacuum. Ha!

I have been eating junk food and NOT exercising at all. But I still lost 2 lbs last week- I guess constant dusting and vacuuming is better for you than disboarding.

I do lurk a little bit and I am proud of all the healthy changes you Peeps are making. You are a great group and I appreciate the encouragment!

Love ya bunches!

You should do a 5k. We could keep each other going on training. You should also try the elliptical. the first 5 mins. you feel like you are going to die :rotfl: after that it is not tooooo bad.
Yesterday I had a pretty good day at the gym I walked and ran a mile, than 35 mins. on the elliptical, 20 mins. on the stair master, and I wanted to finish watching the end of the View so I did 15 mins. on the bike ( I know I'm a geek)
