BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH?!? BUT WHY???
Mariann....your weight loss is inspiring! Way to get in there and get it done! I'm thinking of doing a 5K at the end of April. :scared:

You should do a 5k. We could keep each other going on training. You should also try the elliptical. the first 5 mins. you feel like you are going to die :rotfl: after that it is not tooooo bad.
Yesterday I had a pretty good day at the gym I walked and ran a mile, than 35 mins. on the elliptical, 20 mins. on the stair master, and I wanted to finish watching the end of the View so I did 15 mins. on the bike ( I know I'm a geek)

Here is my Phoebe "all dressed up" for her Halloween walk. No I don't normally torture her with clothes and hats but it was Halloween and the old man down the street got a kick out of it.

love all the doggie pics!!! if i had the room i'd have 20 of them! my motto in life is i try to be the type of person my dogs already think i am.

here's my halloween pics from this year. eli (a/k/a butterball) was a pumpkin.

sherman was supposed to be frankenstein, but as you can see he was not happy about it and his costume came off about 5 seconds later. he was NOT having it! notice the little arm cuffs are all gone except one in this pic.

dohgusgusHang in there. I posted a comment quite a few pages back about my friends child who is 15. She had always been overweight. Even as an elementary school child and her teenage years werent being kind to her and sometimes neither were her teenage friends. I saw her at the school and I almost didnt recognize her- at that time she had lost about 75# but I spoke to her mom the other day and she has lost a total of 90# now. This kid was a fast food junkie and cheese lover if I ever saw one and she has made a 180 degree turnaround. She is georgeous! Her outward appearance now matches the beautiful young lady she has always been on the inside. I asked her how she did it- she said I eat what I want, just not as much, I drink alot of water, and eat alot of fruit and she exercises everyday(band-colorguard). So- you can do this!! I know you can. Just take small steps and if you feel like giving up check in with the peeps! They have recently pulled me back on the wagon and I have my excitement and desire back. - Thanks guys!

dance2874 I appreciate all the advice I can get. We dont have a dance line at our school. My oldest (15)gave up cheerleading this year because she wanted to take more dance classes. She is wanting to try out for the Nutcracker this fall with our local community dancers. They do a production using local dance students and featured dancers from the Alabama Ballet. The competition is a separate class. With separate fees as well-:yay: This summer she wants to do a 3 week intensive for ballet and there are several studios that offer dance camps in our area. My youngest (10) likes dance but 3 hrs a week is stretching her- we will probably cut back next year- she would rather be reading a book than anything else I think- currently she is teaching herself French- dont ask me where I got a smart kid- I feel like Forrest Gump sometimes :lmao:

I have been doing the eliptical because it doesnt seem to hurt my foot so much- my legs are sore today- but I'm going back this pm:yay:
I want to pat myself on the back- I drank 56 oz of water last pm at work- I usually dont have that much water in a week. So now that I think my bladder is throughly cleansed- I'm going to bed. See YA!

I just wanted to say Hi all on weigh in eve! And...

Happy Birthday Twinkie!!!

Happy Birthday AnnNan!!!

:cool1: :dance3: :cheer2: :rockband: party: :jumping1: :rainbow: :bday:

Misty - Your pup is adorable! I love her furry little feet.

I sort of have an obsession with dog feet :confused3 Not in a gross foot fetish way, just I think they are so cute. I especially love my dog's feet (standard poodle). Have you ever really looked at a Jack Russell's feet (no offense if any of you own one), but they look like rat's feet. Definitely not cute.

Oh another random - and I do mean random - thought on dog feet. If you have a dog, smell their feet. Seriously. Go smell them. They smell like Frito's right? Or some kind of chip? My mom thinks I'm nuts and refuses to do it, but one day I googled it and there were tons of sites talking about it - something with their sweat combined with dirt, etc. makes their feet smell like fritos. Ummm...anyway... :rolleyes1

HAHHAHAH I had to laugh out loud at that..my friend has a chihuaha and she always calls him "Frito feet"...so funny! :lmao:

Ah yes, Beware the Ides of March All about Julius Cesar and Shakespeare - modern days we now the IDES is the 15th, so Beware the Ides of March is to Beware of March 15, which Cesear didnt do, and was stabbed... 'et tu Brute? Then fall Cesear" I had to do Marc Antony's silolquy for a college class (to be a teacher at Ball State you had to take a Drama class!! Teachers do have to be all things at all times no matter what, and every now and then acting comes in handy!!)

Every moment in your life brings you to the place you are right now. God gives you tools..some hard to use...and eventually you get to the garden. Use those tools...the ones easiest to use brings you comfort...the hardest to use...brings the growth.

Recently I have grown a lot...learning to love myself...in spite of my flaws...and ya know the great part of those tools you collect...if someone hurts you...grab a hoe and whack the crap out of them. :rotfl:

Okay...sorry but I had to put something smart mouthy...I haven't had one in a while..

Seriously...do grow...the scariest things brings you the farthest. Into loving yourself and loving others because when you don't really love yourself..you can't ever love like God intended you to.

It's like weeds choking a garden...the plants may grow...but never to their fullest potential.:cloud9:

Dawn, knowing you just got out of the hospital, and have to travel for more - this is truly an inspiring statement!! I thank you!! 'course now I think I'm going to cry - so beautiful!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINKIE & ANNNAN!!!
:rockband: :cake: :bday: party:

Thank-you to everyone for the support and ideas! I do need to figure out what is going on in my head. I do need to add more exercise. I do need to take time for me. Now to figure out how to do all that! It's gonna be a rough road, but I'll do it.

Off to get ready for work and pack food for lunch & snacks. See you Peeps later!!! :wave2:

Another idea - the TODAY Show said to be careful of what you drink, the empty calories!! Why Lynda is so smart writing down everything she eats, and tallying the calories (orange juice, apple juice had 200 cal, the Coke they had had 250 calories - so some eliminating of no brainer foods *cough french fries, and cheesecakes... can help, but like everyone knows..

You have to move it to LOSE IT!!

oh, and I do so love the doggie pictures (except now I want one, esp a poodle!! I've always had poodles... no I want a Lady... no, a pound puppy... *sigh)

Dance? Someone mentioned kids and dance??? Here's my DD, she's in the middle I know I have a better picture somewhere... she took some time off to learn how to play saxaphone, I'm hoping to get her back in class - but only if she wants to!! She had so much fun dancing the hip hop, I reminded her about the Irish Step Dancing fun!!

speaking of julius ceasar, does anyone here watch "rome" on HBO? LOVE that show! it's very vulgar and graphic and sometimes i have to turn my head, but it's sooooo interesting and addicting! one of the few things i MUST watch every week.

Right now I'm researching... laser work on varicose/spider veins, mole removal, and laser hair removal for the legs/underarms (I know it can be done in a spa... but, I'm thinking of long-term relationship with doc... but not THAT kind of relationship). Later, I KNOW I'll have to have a tummy tuck... skin has been stretched too much for too long. I also have a 15 year old umbilical hernia that I hope can be repaired at the same time as the tummy tuck (regular doc said since its so old, to just wait until I finished losing weight to fix it). Plus, I figure the girls might also need a "refill" by then And I know this is more vain than practical... but I noticed that I have my grandmother's eyelids.

Funny you mentioned that Dene..i am currently researching electrolosis myself. I am only 29 (yikes for only 4 more months!!!) and i know being portuguese and italian that the "grandma" hairs are going to be starting soon ( some mystery whiskers have emerged on my chin..LOVE it.:scared1: ) I heard that electrolosis is more of a permanent removal than laser..but am not sure if that is true or not...any idea?? Either way i know is big $$ but it sure beats shaving or plucking!

Twinkie news: My house is on the market.
Ditto. Our first open house is this Sunday. So we've spent the past few weeks decluttering and organizing and cleaning. We had the carpets cleaned yesterday. And this weekend we'll be taking care of cleaning up the landscaping a bit. It is very stressful, but so far I've been able to avoid trying to eat my stress away.

My DH does Laser Hair Removal as a profession so I'd like to chime in here. LAser and electrolisis do the same thing-kill the hair follicles thereby stoppping the growth of new hair. Laser is quicker in that it covers more area in a treatment. Electrolosis will remove red, blonde and grey hair which you need a special laser to do so not all laser techs can do all colors of hair. Electrolosis is much more tedious and time consuming and because of that it is also much more expensive than laser hair removal. Is that all clear as mud?? Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

Well, WOOHOOTY for me!!!

Cute! I love Irish Step Dancers. Being Irish (my father was born there and moved to the states at age 18. Maternal side is all Irish too.), I think it is so fun to watch. In college, I joined a step dancing class with a friend. :lmao: We lasted one class before we both realized that our legs were just not going to move in those directions that fast!

so wonder woman (my friend the fitness trainer) has jury duty this week and has cancelled all our classes at the gym. so i've been trying to walk as much as i can. well, she just called me and she's going to a class tonight at another gym to try to get some new ideas. the class is called body jam and i'm so excited because it's based around dancing and supposed to be a good cardio workout, which i don't get enough of. so of course i'm going because, duh, tomorrow is weigh-in day!!! anywayz, wish me luck. i hope i don't pass out. i'll post when i get back tonight to tell you guys how the class was. i've taken body pump before, which is another type of class (weight training) but developed by the same company, les mills. they're great classes. i just hope this one doesn't kill me!

here's some more info on the classes if you're interested. you can see if there are any offered in your area.

http://www.lesmills.com/

I forgot to mention that I did indeed smell Jasper's paws last night! (DH refused - something about her walking where she poos. :confused3 :rotfl: ) But guess what? They DO sorta smell like Fritos or Doritos, or something of that nature! :rotfl2: Very weird! :rotfl:
