I am ok.

I got my dad out of the hospital yesterday. He still has to have a lot of tests. He is OUT of renal failure. His heart is working great. So, blessings have been granted.

I start to see a counselor tomorrow. That way I have a PRIVATE sounding board.

Thank you for those that PM'd me.

I am ok... not great but ok.

 Glad to hear the good news about your dad.

Ummmmm... stoopid question (and anybody who's spent time with teenagers knows there ARE stupid questions). Why don't they just record trials? I figure its 'cuz people sometimes need to READ what was said so they don't get the wrong idea (like when you've sang the wrong lyrics to a song for years). Nevermind... answered my own question. Seeeee? I told you there were stupid questions! :upsidedow

nope, not a stupid question. i get asked that all the time. the main reason they need a written record of court proceedings is for appeal purposes. see, when someone appeals something, the appellate court doesn't re-try the case - they just read the record of what happened in the lower court. i think they sometimes hear argument, too, but i'm not sure. pixie would know this - she's a lawyer! the other reason they don't just record it is because sometimes you'll have background noise that takes over your recording, like a noisy air vent, someone coughing, someone dropping something, people talking in the background, etc. the recorder doesn't know that it should be recording what's going on in the case...it just records the louder sound. court reporters, on the other hand, know to take down what's going on in the case. does that make any sense? plus if they just recorded it and got someone to type it up later, it would be VERY confusing because you wouldn't be able to tell who was talking if you had, for example, two men that sounded alike. you also wouldn't be able to tell if someone was demonstrating or laughing or crying or whatever and i take notes of all that stuff.

well, i'm off to court. have a good day everyone! :)

So all week it hasn't sunk in about my wedding in TWO DAYS! But today we are going to get the marriage license so it's finally starting too...a little! ;) I am going to try and eat better today b/c yesterday I had about 20g. of sweets. I hope everyone has a great day!! :goodvibes

Wow - two days!!! That is so exciting. I pray the rest of your week goes smoothly!

I feel so out of touch with everyone. Maybe life will slow down in a couple of weeks. I had a big blow up with my kids this morning and decided to go on strike. For the rest of the week the ungrateful children can get their own clothes, fix their own breakfasts, and fix their own lunches. I went in to help my mood DD 11 straighten her hair. Of course, I was doing it wrong and not fast enough - so I let her do it. Then when I woke up DS 7 I asked him 3 times what he wanted for breakfast and gave him all the choices. He whined and cried and said he didn't know. So I told him to let me know when he figured it out. Five minutes before walking out the door he decided what he wanted. Sorry, too late! OK - thanks for the listening to the vent!

I think I will make Mom on Strike signs!

Good Morning Peeps!

I'm still on my WW core plan- I am using some of my 35 weekly points though. Bread is the ENEMY! It keeps attacking me from all angles. I tried grilling some fish (salmon and amberjack)- didnt turn out quite like I wanted. I have only had fish in a resturant previously- Anybody got tips on successful fish grilling?

dwheat I havent made any particular plans for Pigeon Forge yet. Dollywood does look fun- never been. I dont know if it is open at Christmas time though. I do have a friend that used to work with us who has a condo in Gatlinburg- I'm going to give her a call and see if her place is available- And the girls want to ice skate and they said snowboard but we may have to venture a little further north for those activities. I like looking at the snow but Im not a huge fan of cold and wet.

 if you needed it and  even if you thought you didnt! We all could use a  sometimes.

Have a great day Everybody!

oh... big news here...

I look like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. and I sound awful!!

I taught 5th grade today... sneezed 62 times (yep they counted... the boys thought it wasnt fair that I could hold back sneezes - my eyes watered like I was crying, and it was because I was holding back the sneezes... ) I called it allergies.. but it was a code...

Dd made me tomato soup, and gave me a dr pepper with a straw... and tucked a blankie around me!!

Right now dh doesnt think we should go to WDW in Sept, and I know he's right... but you never know! (dagnabit if hed do the blasted taxes!)

Sorry you aren't feeling well and that Sept isn't looking good. You never know though! for you!

Thanks a bunch, Peeps, for the hugs and kind thoughts. Fortunately, we have not had to deal with dementia, just a bit of forgetfulness. My Grandma was moved back to her medical care facility this afternoon for hospice/comfort care. Tonight she seemed somewhat improved over last night and in less pain. I'm sure she was glad to be back in familiar surroundings. The staff and ladies at her facility were happy to have her back, too, and we know that she will receive loving care there. It helps significantly that my cousin's cousin works there and is very fond of Grandma.

My mom has a cousin whose work requires her to go into different nursing homes for months at a time, and every time grandma had to go into one, Mom would try to get her into the one her cousin (Grandma's niece) worked in. It WAS a TREMENDOUS help! I'm glad she is back in familiar surroundings! :goodvibes

Good job on the exercise, Lynda! Did you really have a cheddar cheese stick before breakfast???

:rotfl: I did! I went to get the spinach from the drawer to make my lunch, and there it was! And I wasn't eating breakfast until I got to work because I went in early yesterday, so I grabbed one! And I ate it while making my lunch. I  cheese! I have to eat it in small amounts though!

I am ok.

I got my dad out of the hospital yesterday. He still has to have a lot of tests. He is OUT of renal failure. His heart is working great. So, blessings have been granted.

Popping in to say that I always seem to be the girl that crushes on a guy that no one would ever imagine having a crush on. That person for me right now is Duff Goldman - Ace of Cakes? Do not even ask me why. It might be that he is so tough on the exterior while seeming really sweet and funny. Plus he likes to bake! And does it well at that. I keep trying to figure out a way to order a cake and have it delivered here so I could meet him. :rotfl:
As I was watching last week episode I was asking myself WHY I like him so much! I thnk he is adorable, and of course very talented. I think his personality makes him SO much more attractive to me too, he is so funny!

Does anyone watch Tori and Dean: Inn Love on Oxygen? It is my new guilty pleasure TV show. I mention it because I'm DVRing it right now. Anyway, it's about Tori Spelling and her hubby opening up a B&B and getting ready for baby. Love it! I'm such a sucker for these kind of shows.

OMG! i love that show too! I lived about 10 minutes from where they bought that B&B when I was in CA. I love watching them go around town because I have been there before!

Good for you! I am thisclose to doing that around my house too- only WIFE on strike would be more appropriate at my house.

Hugs to you Bee, glad you are doing what you need to do for you.

And YEAH! Lexmelinda. Glad to know everything is ok.

Peeps :goodvibes coming for Punkin today...thinking about ya! That has to be hard.

OH, and UM- I know what you mean about not celebrating too much just yet. We still need to make the reservation and hope we get the dates and resort we want. Tomorrow I can celebrate!!

And hugs and prayers to anyone else I may have missed. Trying to catch up while baby is napping....looks like he may be up now. Back to work!

Hey, Dene.....YO' BEAUTIFUL!

Well... somebody told me that you had boyfriend that looked like a girlfriend that I had in February of last year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

We've been talking about songs in class today and that one came up and once I start it, I have to say the WHOLE thing. :rotfl:

I tried grilling some fish (salmon and amberjack)- didnt turn out quite like I wanted. I have only had fish in a resturant previously- Anybody got tips on successful fish grilling?

I don't grill mine... just use a grill pan or non-stick pan. Have you tried tuna steaks? I  them... seared and rare/medium rare.

What do you season the tuna with?

I used a little olive oil, greek seasoning, and some lemon juice. Is a grill pan that nonstick pan with the raised things like the george foreman but you use it on the stove?

Can I get one at WALMART?- Aside- I have to like walmart- its my mom's source of income.
:thumbsup2

Ok- I need the brave pixie dust sent my way.

I fell getting out of bed today. All because of my stupid foot and that plantar fasciatis thing- so I have an appointment with an orthopedic doc in the am- he is a foot and ankle specialist- I'm going in - asking for the SHOT! I know I'm a nurse but my mama always told me that it was better to GIVE than to RECEIVE :)

I guess when you are crawling instead of walking its time to go to the doctor.
