I'm so excited for you.

GOOOD MORNING! :sunny:

LOTS OF GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL NUMBERS YESTERDAY! You rock, people!

As I read back, I thought I would post here that Merriam-Webster's WORD OF THE YEAR for 2007 is....

1. w00t (interjection)
expressing joy (it could be after a triumph, or for no reason at all); similar in use to the word "yay"

Example: w00t! I won the contest!

(or if you're Wendy....All the ladies say "Woot! Woot!")

Y'ALL HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!

Good Morning!

Did I post yesterday?? I don't even know! My new job has been keeping me busy and I have no time to DIS at work anymore! :confused3 But then again, I am getting paid to work, NOT DIS!!! ;)

My numbers are pitiful and I really need to get refocused on this whole weight-loss thing. So, my goal today is to open up the treadmill and use it for 30 min! I'll do that after I get home from work, as i am working 9-12 today.

I'll record my first weigh-in next Friday!

Catch up with y'all later!

Melinda...Thanks for the word of the year! wOOt!!!!:woohoo:

I haven't had a chance to read what I missed yesterday but I wanted to post my weigh in.I have lost 1.6 lbs.I didn't start until Wednesday morning so I am pleased with the number.:goodvibes Headed out to work, everyone have a great day...

I forgot to say I want to do the valentines challenge.Do we post how much we want to lose by then? I am in for 8 lbs.I have lost 1.6 so far. Thanks!

Tomorrow Joshua and I go to Christi's youngest sons birthday party. He turns 2. Her DH called me earlier this week and asked us to attend. They have decided not to continue radiation---her quality of life with the radiation is not good. They did tell her DH that if she does not continue the tumor will come back. She has lost a lot of vision and strength due to the radiation. No one is really saying anything it is just SAD as her DH says. He is in limbo as to where she can go from the hospital. He was hoping that she could go to rehab, but since the very high fever she had because of the radiation she has not regained any strength. So he does not know id rehab will even take her. That fever did A LOT of harm on her body--as he says it just about killed her. He is LOST, but going strong for the boys. Please continue to pray for them. I was not able to visit her earlier --he is hoping that I can go this weekend depending on how she is doing.

How is it that when little boys get a haircut they look so much older!! Joshua was in major need of one lilke a month overdue actually and now he looks do old and CUTE!!

 hope things go as well as they can today. christi and her family are lucky to have you in their lives!

I HATE THESE BUGS!!!!! I truley had one on my screen and I ignored it b/c I thought it was just there like all these. Then it started going crazy and moving everywhere--it was just gnat, but still yuck!!!

i think they're cool! but i'm wierd......i've always liked bugs, spiders, frogs, lizards. i see a spider in the house and i put it outside instead of killing it.

:lmao: i wonder if "whoooooo hoooooooty" is listed in merriam-webster's dictionary?

Woot Woot on all the awesome numbers!

I'm back to a serious relationship with my tread mill.

Sandy I did run for 3 minutes in a row. Baby steps.
:cutie:

Off to paint!

Yayyyy! We have a lot of recommitted PEEPS! I am sooo excited!

Hokeydokie....we lost a TON! As of 2008, we've lost -44.8 pounds!

I still am not adding in gains. I know there is no really accurate way to have grand totals. So.. I am going to get a spread sheet type notebook to record the numbers in. Then at the end of a week, month, quarter, whatever, I can sort of see the whole picture. Last year was a bunch of scrap paper or crappy ill-organized notebook(s). I'm ON it now.

That way, we can also see if any of us are falling behind, need more PEEP POWER :cheer2: or whatever. A PM box full of "Come BAAAAAACks!" should be helpful (or annoying depending on the wagon-faller-offer). :rolleyes1

I'm sooooo relieved and happy that so many are returning and recommitting to thier health and our little family!!!!

I'm worried about Aries!!!! Should I call her? I don't want to be a pest. I just love her to pieces!

Sandy- good luck Mama! Hope your problems get better!

Does anyone else LOVE infomercials and QVC/Home shopping shows???? I am so entertained by their sales techniques. I get a kick out of QVC's sales people becoming all chummy with their customers at home. VERY funny. NO, I don't buy stuff, except the one time with Bare Minerals (LOVE).

I weighed this morning fot teh first time since TG and I only gained 3 pounds. Going shopping today and going to go strong on Monday. I am on the wagon and ready to move forward.

I do love QVC and laugh at their attempts to sell.

Guess what? I lost 2 more pounds since yesterday! Yay!
Too bad it just confirms that I can't drink anymore. :(
Oh well.
I'd rather be skinny than tipsy! :lmao:

I got myself all psyched up yesterday to go sign up at the gym, but first I had to do a load of laundry.......I fell down the stairs! So now I'm confined to bed because I can hardly move.:headache:

Now I have to get myself convinced to go again on monday. I need someone to hold my hand. I have this secret fear that when I walk through the gym doors everyone will bust up laughing.

I was doing chest/tri , back/bi's, legs/shoulders (and abs everyday) before christmas, but now am doing upper and lower alternating and cardio in between days...mon upper, tues cardio, wed lower, thurs cardio...feels wierd tho and i miss some of the exercises if that doesnt sound stupid i dont know what does.

tonight i did upper body, 12,10,8,6 with progressive weight then drop back a bit and do 12 more at a weight that brings failure. my chest and back are tight, but my arms were so fatigues by the time i got to them i dont know that i got as much out of them...i'll try this for 4 weeks and see how i do, then i'll go back to something else...

That doesn't sound stupid... I think maybe after a month of what I am doing now I will go back to the chest/tri, back/bi, legs/shoulders thing. I did that before my wedding and it really seemed to work the best w/ the least amount of time spent.

winkers, falling down the stairs!! Oh no!! And no one will laugh at you at the gym, I promise. Good for you for signing up!!

Mr Kat has a toothache today, which is worse than dealing with a 4 yr old. I think men regress back to childhood after marriage, sigh.

Hope everyone has a skinny day!! Woot!

6. 4 Triscuts with spray cheese
7. Spray Cheese on celery (the Vegetable, not the peep!)
8. sugar free jello with sugar free cool whip
9. sugar free pudding
10. half a bag of Healthy Pop popcorn with parmessan cheese or ranch sprinkles

Shameless plug I just updated my tr go check it out..;)

misty....i just went to check out the new installment and the last one i see is from 1/3. did i miss something?

cool idea! :thumbsup2 thanks for being willing to keep up with all this.

and call aries - you won't be bugging her! i'm sure she'd be glad to hear from you.

 i'm sorry you fell!!! that's the worst. i'm a klutz so i can relate.

and don't worry about being laughed at at the gym! i know when i see someone there that i'm not familiar with i just think, "good for them for being here." that's the only thought that ever crosses my mind! now....when i see a person that could stand some exercise coming in there, scanning their card, walking past the treadmills and all the exercise equipment to go to the tanning bed, then leaving afterwards, THAT'S when i just shake my head. not judging anyone......just don't understand it! you made the effort to get here.....why not jump on the treadmill for 20 minutes? :confused3 another thing i don't understand is when i see people circling the parking lot to get a good parking spot. YOU'RE AT THE GYM......WALK A LITTLE FURTHER!!! isn't that the point? sorry.......i'm rambling!

here's my tips. not many....it's saturday and my brain doesn't run full speed on weekends!

1. don't think of exercise as a chore. think of it as your "me" time.....the only hour out of the day where you don't have to deal with your spouse, your kids, your boss, bills, etc. just clear your mind and concentrate on your workout.

2. drink water. when you get sick of it, add a crystal lite (or fake crystal lite) pack and drink more!

3. fiber one bars are awesome if you're like me and sometimes need help in the potty department. i eat them when i don't have time to make breakfast.

4. when you need a potato chip fix, get some of those "quakes." they're mini rice cakes and the ranch-flavored ones rock!

5. if you lose at least 1 pound (or whatever weight you want to set) per week, reward yourself with a free day. on your free day don't eat everything in sight......just allow yourself something you don't normally have. for me it's sweet tea or a margarita and a break from writing down my calorie count for the day.

Here's my tip..........

Put the candy bar down and slowly walk away from the kitchen!:)

Mine is to plan out my meals for the day in the morning, so I know exactly what I can eat for lunch, and then look forward to whatever dinner is.

I agree w/ Dawn on the exercise thing, think of it as me time. It is easier for me since I go at lunch, and it gives me an excuse to get away from work for a while.

My favorite snacks are a bag of Orville 94% FF popcorn (180 cals), or veggies and FF Pringles w/ dip made from FF sour cream. Both satisfy my munchie craving.

Oh I hear ya on that one!! We have two fairly new cars, though, so I always park as far away from any other car as possible.

Granted, I am surely not in great shape, but if I see someone in my gym that is overweight I think the same as Dawn... good for you!! Just remember that almost everyone starts somewhere. When I started in my gym I was pushing 220 lbs at 5'8", certainly no poster child for physical fitness. At 175/185 (depending on the week), I am better off, but not exactly a fitness video candidate!!

My Tips:

Drink 64oz water
Eat 5 fruits & veggies a day
Keep your carbs minimal
make sure to eat your protein

Now to just follow them...hmmmmmm

Shameless plug from me too...if you haven't checked out my TR, please do so! There is some video included that is quite incriminating!!! :rolleyes1
