DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Hi Peeps,

*this is another stealth posting from my hospital bed*

First of all, thanks so much for all the prayers and pixie dust.

I got the official word this a.m. from my doc that I won't be able to make my WDW trip. :sad2: We cancelled the plane tickets this morning and I emailed my travel agent about what my options will be for possibly rescheduling, and I'm waiting for her to get back to me. I'm hoping that she will come back with good news and say that we will be able to reschedule the trip and not lose it (in case I didn't mention it before, the trip is COMPLETELY paid for already...)

The clot in my lung is causing me a lot breathing problems and chest pain, so the doctor has said that I will be here in the hospital until I'm able to breathe normally and walk without any shortness of breath. They don't have me on oxygen right now, but they are continuing to monitor my blood oxygen saturation. I'm hoping I will be out by my birthday (which is 12/18).

Thanks again guys for all the wonderful thoughts and prayers. I will continue to keep you all posted.

I'm skimming, so hope I don't miss anyone.
Tia, I sent you a PM.
Hugs and prayers for everyone with sick kids, and any other needs.
I'm down 1 lb. My WW scale with body fat measurement came today. DH bought it for me, but said he refused to make that a Christmas present. He said I should just have it if I want it. He's so sweet.
Things are depressing today. I'm wearing my Eeyore Christmas socks, and they fit my mood. A close family friend passed away yesterday after a long illness (she was my next door neighbor when I was a child, taught me how to make chocolate chip cookies and introduced me to WW:) ) My kids have asked me not to talk about them, but let's just say an empty nest is looking less likely in the near future.
On the up side, we're going to get our tree now, and we're going to Gilroy Gardens to look at their Christmas decorations tonight. DH talked me out of eating there, so that's good in terms of dieting.
Blessings to everyone.

 to both of you!

I'm surprised the malls are not that crowded.

shopping was quick and painless and got most of it done.

UM updated her TR. Go read it.

I was able to put things in my pantry and the upper cupboards.

Have a good night.

 i'm sure your travel agent will work something out. get yourself better - disney world's not going anywhere! and look at it this way: if you can go later then you can look back a month from now and say, "i still have a disney vacation to look forward to" instead of, "i miss disney world and wish i could go back!" hope you feel better soon.

 to you, too!

well, i'm back from my work christmas party at brio. YUM. i'm sooooooo full!!!!! ray and i got the spicy shrimp peperonata as an appetizer, we both had ceasar salads, i got the shrimp scampi and angel hair pasta for dinner and then we each got a dessert and shared it - apple crostata and creme brulee. they serve the desserts in little espresso cups so it's just enough. :thumbsup2 i brought half my pasta home so at least i didn't finish that! pasta fills me up so quickly though. anyway, it was WONDERFUL and i definitely recommend going there if you have one near you. i don't have any pictures of the food (my camera is still sick and being looked at the by the camera doctor). my boss had her camera but i didn't want to ask her to borrow it and then take pics of the food. she already thinks i'm a disney freak anyway for having mickey ears on my antenna and a "got disney world?" bumper sticker on my car......i'd hate to think what she'd say if i told her i was taking pictures of the food for the food porn addicts on the disney boards! :lmao:

Hi Peeps and Good Morning. We're getting our tree today. It looks like it might snow or something. We got an inch on Friday and it took DH 1 1/2 hours to get home. :scared1: He gets aggrevated at some people when they drive in the bad weather, only because he is a good driver in the bad weater. He says if you're scared - stay home and I think he is 100% correct, that's why I don't go anywhere in the snow. Actually it's the ice that scares me more. Have a great Sunday peeps. I'll check in later tonight.

Glad you had a good time at the christmas party. Sounds like you did very well foodwise there. You're good for not finishing the pasta, I would have horked it down like I was not going to eat again. :lmao: Why is it that people don't understand food porn?:confused3

Help me decide which one to make a Christmas card from. I posted all the family ones but this is what I like 1 and 3---could change my mind though on what is posted here.

Pigget - Number 3 is the beset IMO. All of you are looking. It's so nice to put a face with a person. Al of your kids are beautiful. How is everyone feeling? DS6 has cold induced asthma. Did you bring your little gut to the specialist yet?

one of my pet peeves is when there's ice on the ground and people slam on their brakes. HELLO!!!!! that's like the worst thing you can do on ice! luckily we don't much of that here anyway. once i had to drive from atlanta to nashville two days before christmas in a snow storm. a trip that normally takes me 4-5 hours took me 8!!! i was only 22 and VERY scared. i was calling my mom every 15 minutes begging her to come get me!

i like this one. it looks more cozy to me. and wow.....you have a beautiful family! you're looking awesome, by the way! ;)

DH and i are going to finish up our christmas shopping today. i finish the shopping for my family every year by like mid-november. but i have to wait on his because he never knows what he wants to get them. anyway, hopefully today will be the last time i have to face the shopping public before christmas! it's supposed to be 70 degrees here today......short sleeves for me! :cloud9:

OK Peeps! I have NOT fallen off the face of the earth, BUT I can't DIS at work anymore. DIS got blocked!:scared1: :sad1: It's a lot harder to find time to stay caught up this way, but I'm working on it. Should improve after the holidays. I stayed the same this week - AGAIN! Although I am certain I am seeing a change in my midsection. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing and be patient. I know it will catch up with me eventually. It is frustrating not to see a change in the numbers on that evil scale though. Well, I have a LOT of catching up to do, and MANY things to get done today, so I better get to it. Hopefully, I'll be back later tonight. Love to all my Peeps! :goodvibes

Pigget! I like #1 also. It's cozy. The one's where you can't see your DH's hand securely holding the baby stress me out...like she's gonna fall. But I see his hand under her dress so I know she won't. Anyway, #1

Lynda-I would hate to not be able to DIS at work during your breaks or "other"...heh! I love that you lost some inches around your mid section even though you were a samer. Love little things like that!!!!

I made cookies! I have the most delicious chocolate chip cookie recipe and I have "tasted" like 3 of them since yesterday! To make sure they aren't poisonous????

hi, lynda! hope you can find a way to DIS more soon! i'm sure you will....espcially as another trip approaches! congrats on the shrinking middrift!

so i guess they're safe, right?!? :rolleyes1

I keep thinking I can check this thread every few days and keep up, but yikes! no way! It's such a busy place.

Life has been crazy here at our house. Besides the usual, two of the girls were in a nutcracker performance which is (thankfully) over.

As is usual in my life, when life gets crazy, so does my weight. So about a week ago I signed up for flylady reminders again and have been trying to put things back in order and hopefully keep them there. I have managed to get all my holiday shopping done and wrapped. I put things under the tree which might have been a mistake. The four year old keeps begging to open her presents. Is it the 25th yet??

I am hoping my getting the rest of my life and home in order to put my eating under control. I'm headed down to get on the treadmill now - hopefully its still working after my prolonged absence!

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday seasons! Prayers to those who need them.

Definitely #1. You and your family are so beautiful!! :goodvibes

SingingInMua, hope that you get better soon. What a scary situation! I am glad your SO got you to the hospital in time. Bummer on WDW though. :(

Dawn, food sounded yummy.

I have been doing a lot better this week. I restarted Alli today so shall see how that goes.

Also, I bought a bunch of new clothes at Kohl's last week and this week... 1 pair of pants, 8 tops, and 2 pairs of shoes, for under $200 plus I got a $30 gift card to spend later. I am fitting pretty reliably into 14s, but I would really like to get back into 12s. Mr Kat said I needed more color in my wardrobe so he basically forced me into some colorful tops!

I am afraid to buy too many pants just in case I get my act together and lose the rest of the weight, but I figure that tops will be good even w/ another 20-30 gone.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Off to fold laundry and put up the tree...

Can you send some of that nice weather up here. It's 35 degrees right now. BTW where in GA do you live? I have a cousin who lives in Jasper.

 How could they, the nerve. Staying the same is good in my book, you're losing inches so that's a plus.:thumbsup2

Can we have the recipe or is it a secret and that's good that they are not poisonous, you wouldn't want people dropping on your floor after they ate those cookies. Think of the mess.:lmao:

Always wanted to know about the Ali. Yeah on the clothes. My mom was sick of seeing me in pants that were real big so she bought me a two new pairs.:goodvibes That's a mom for ya. We got our tree today too, it's just in the stand, we'll put on the lights tomorrow night, then Wednesday we'll decorate it. Have a nice night everyone.

BTW where in GA do you live? I have a cousin who lives in Jasper.

i live near athens. your cousin is northwest of atlanta and i'm northeast. sometimes i take highway 53 through jasper on my way to nashville (it eventually connects with I-75) if i want to avoid atlanta traffic.

we left here to go to best buy to get a couple of christmas presents. we also stopped at target to see if they had any media storage cabinets. i had $55 in gift certificates there and figured we could get something affordable. now that ray has a wii and a xbox 360 our drawers in the armoire don't hold everything! anyway, we ended up getting a huge shelf thing for $100. it was a good price, but we really didn't need to spend that money!

i have a question for you. i put this up over on the restaurant boards, too. ray and i are having dinner at LTT the thursday night of our disney trip (that night's a spectro/wishes night after dinner). then friday we're doing MK in the morning, taking a break in the afternoon, then MK again in the evening for a pirate and princess party (hopefully). we leave on saturday. so LTT is going to be the last TS meal of our trip. is this a mistake? i'm just not very excited about it and i want something to be excited about as our last meal! we're eating at lots of other yummy places during the trip (kona cafe, narcoosee's, spoodle's, mama melrose, house of blues). any thoughts?

OK, Heather, just to make things difficult, I like picture #3 better. And may I say, you do NOT look like you had a baby recently. Looking good!
Speaking of 35 degrees, that was the temperature last night when we went to Gilroy Gardens (the amusement park where my DD is currently working) last night. It's an outdoor venue, and we were numb. DH was not feeling well, and dragged around like Eeyore, and I was disappointed, so can you guess what I did? I had a piece of pecan pie for dinner. It was good, but then I felt sick. Darn family. Why can't they just make it a holly jolly Christmas? And darn me, for resorting to pie:mad:
The funeral today (for my former neighbor) was sweet, but very small. There was Pearl's immediate family, 3 neighbors (including me and my mom), and then Pearl's weight loss buddies from T.O.P.S. I thought of my buddies on here, and wished we were physically closer so we could build up that kind of friendship. Oh well, I still feel blessed to have all of you.
Mom and I went to Panera for lunch afterwards. I had the orchard harvest salad, with pears, nuts, cheese, and cherries, and it was so good. You have to love cherries though (I do) because the dressing is cherry vinaigrette. A whole salad is 420 calories, and very filling. You can choose chips, bread, or an apple as your side. I took the whole grain bread (140 calories) and shared it with my mom. It was so good too. Everything in that place is tasty! Mom and I had a very nice visit too. It really lifted my spirits. She is a wise woman.
Have a happy Monday all.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

I admit it! I'm behind! But I just read back through Friday so I'm a little caught up.

Life is crazy here! I just started my Christmas shopping on Saturday and bought a few things. Fortunately, we don't exchange gifts with many adults in our family so it's basically just the kids I have to buy for. And that's always fun!

DS starts church basketball this week. I got a call from one of the directors who asked me if I would lead the devotions for the team and of course I said I would. Turns out he made me assistant coach. :headache: I don't really know ANYTHING about basketball so wish me luck.

I have gained a few pounds since Disney because I HAVE NOT EXERCISED!!! I KNOW! BAD! I think I'll start walking on the track at work again after Christmas and then start my workout DVD in the spring. It's not just the weight, it's how it's distributed that bothers me.

TIA! I'm so glad you're OK but I'm sorry about your trip! Give your SO a big hug and a thank you from all of us for dragging you to the hospital. Like Wendy said, you can go to WDW anytime and wear a birthday button.

BEE! Glad you're doing well. Did you move? How are the girls?

Heather....I like the first one too! You look so pretty! I don't think I've ever seen you w/out glasses.

Lynda....I'm just waiting for the DIS to get cut off at work. I usually only lurk on my lunch hour at my desk but I always feel guilty about it. The way my desk is situated, my back is to the door....and so is my computer screen! I always have to say...ummmm, I'm on my lunch break.

Punkin.....NO exercising on spa day! Cuz I said! :thumbsup2

Monica
...Your kitchen looks grrrrrrrreat! I'm so jealous!

QUESTION: When are Jen and Tara's babies due??? Soonish?

EVERYBODY ELSE.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYONE!

Weird thing about the glasses. When oldest DS was born I had to get them. I have 20 20 vision--but my eyes are not balanced because of the strain of pregnancy--you can't tell--After oldest DD was born I had to up the script in each lens which are prisms. After Joshau not much changed. Well last summer Joshua broke my glasses--which I usually wear all the time--especially if I am reading or watching tv. I got a new pair and guess what he broke those within a week. Insurance was not going to pay for another pair and so forth. I was going to wait until after Rebekah was born to see if I would have to change the script in the lens. After a week I noticed I was still fine and it was not causing headaches or fatigue in my eyes like before. Now I still do not have them and I have been fine. My eyes do get tired but no headaches from my eyes. I think it is strange that I do not need them now--I wore them for 12 years and if I didn;t have thme on I would get a major headache in a matter on an hour of not having them on.

I think their babies are due in Feb/March. I could be wrong.

Knock on wood-- I think we are all well in my house. Rebekah and Joshua are no longer coughing

Off to finish getting ready for work. HAve a good one.
