Not really sure yet...we're stopping in Dothan, AL, on Saturday to do an early Christmas w/ DH's sister and her family. We haven't decided if we're going to shoot straight through central MS and central AL to Montgomery and then head south towards Dothan...or if we're going to head south out of Jackson towards Mobile and then shoot over to Dothan from there. We've gone both ways. Where in AL are you?

If you come this way I will wave to as you go by. Remind me do you live in the Jackson area? I will be in Jackson on the 15th---DD has a swim meet there.

Quick pop in to ask for some dentist pixie dust. I leave in about 45 minutes and I really have no idea what to expect. No idea what I'm having done and what is/was wrong with my stupid tooth. Wish me luck!

Have a great day Peeps!
Good Luck Shannon!!

Good wishes.

I lost my will to diet! I just can't seem to do it. By 10am I sink.

I did so good the last time. What is wrong with me? I just think things are too crazy in my house. I think once this remodel is done and I have my house back, and I'm in control of things, I can control this. I am tired of living out of boxes and using the microwave to cook for my family.

In the mean time I am just filled with guilt and disgust with myself.

On a happier note, the cabinets are done and I assume on their precious journey to my home. Come to mama babys!

Today more sanding and priming.

Tomorrow I expect the real paint color to be applied.

I have also lost my will to diet..with Disney tommorow and all this holiday hoopla...and being out of work still..I am just so "meh" about watching calories...I really hope i can get back into it when we get home from our get-away!
But YAY for the cabinets being done! :thumbsup2

Joshua is doing a little better. He gets a breathing treatment every morning and night. IF we miss one he tends to cough a lot. He still coughs a good bit with it--but it is not as bad. Our ped. is thinking about sending us to a specialist for him. He says that he has tried everything he knows. So it is a wait and see game right now. Thanks for asking. Hope your little gets better soon.

We went through the same thing withour 3 year old and when they switched the drug for the nebulizer from albuterol to Pulmicort his cough improved tremendously. He was diagnosed with "Cough-Variant Asthma". Maybe your son has the same thing...:confused3 Apparently it can be triggered by a bought with a cold or bronchitis and only manifests itself as a severe cough that lasts all day and night. Good luck to you!

Thank you for the birthday wishes!!You guys are the best!!

Melinda~ Did you get any snow? We got nearly 2 inches and so the kids are home from school. My youngest son wants to go out & play in it but I'm not letting him because I had to take him to the doctor yesterday. He has a nasty ear infection in the left ear. I feel bad about not letting him play in the snow but I'm scared that he may get worse, just in time for our trip.

He does the pulmicort 2x a day and we add the albuteral as needed. He started coughing the first of September and everything they tried before this did not work. He was better for almost 5 days and then the bronchitus set in---so we are trying to decide if his cough is a lingering cough from the bronchitus or is it something more of the asthma--that is why he might send us to a specialist. He has been on albuteral off and on since he was 8 months old. Our dr. did not want to say asthma until he was at least 2 and he turned 2 in September.

I am up here in N. AL, close to the TN border. So, I'll send my waves down to I-20 area. :rotfl2:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BORN2BIRDKIM!!!!!!:dance3:

Hope you had a good one!!!!

*Melinda* - you need to make a note on your birthday list about this one. ;)

Well I am back from the dentist. Actually I got back awhile ago...I have been decorating cookies for a few hours for a family friend (and I'm getting paid for them :thumbsup2 ) Anyway, he looked at it, poked it, took an X-ray of the tooth, blew cold air on it and decided that it is probably just a hypersensitive tooth and he gave me some sensitive teeth toothpaste samples. BUT he did tell me that the other thing it could be is a dead nerve since I do have a pretty large filling that is close to the nerve of that tooth. If it is this, I would need a root canal. :scared1: He feels confident that it is just a hypersensitive tooth though. He told me that if it is sensitive to hot food/drink or if I wake up in the middle of the night with a throbbing toothache that its probably the root canal route for me. But I haven't had that so I guess I should be happy. I'm still worried though. I'm scared to get my teeth cleaned...so a root canal! I can't even imagine. But it is over for now and I'll just be careful with it and watch how it feels. It's bugging me now from them poking at it with stuff.

Ok, must get back to decorating cookies. Hope everyone is having a great hump day!

CORN--
2 tubes frozen cream corn---I use one butter and the other fried corn with peppercorn.
1/2 pack of bacon fried.
Use 2 tablespoons of bacon grease.
In a fyring pan cook the corn, add the grease, and crumble the bacon.
Add a little milk and about a 1/2 tsp of sugar. Let it simmer until nice and hot. It si very yummy--it is always the first thing we run out of whenver I make it.

Took Rebekah to Dr. yesterday--she is now 10 pounds. SHe got her first shots. She is still not completely well--all he would say is you are going to have a very long winter. He can still hear her wheeze, but only when she coughs--and that is often.

thanks for the recipe! i'll have to give it a try. i hope little rebekah is doing better soon.

Baked Corn
1 can whole corn, drained
1 can creamed corn
1 box Jiffy corn bread mix
1 egg
1/2 c margarine
8 oz sour cream
1 T sugar

Mix egg, margarine, sour cream and sugar. Add corn, then Jiffy mix, stir well. Bake in a greased casserole dish 45 min at 350 degrees. (This is one of my husbands favorite recipes.)

this sounds very similar to a recipe we got from paula deen's cookbook and it's SO GOOD! thanks for posting it!

hope it went well! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday Bird!

ditto from me, too!!!! lucky you....you share a birthday with walt disney!

Hi everyone. Well, a peep gets sick for a few days and then she has to spend hours upon hours getting caught up out here. You are certainly a busy group.

I'm on the mend after spending 4 days completely down. My immune system isn't all the way back and I can't take any antibiotics because of my cancer medication so I'm just suffering on until I get well on my own. At first I thought I was just feeling bad from having encountered so much cigarette smoke in Las Vegas but nope, turned out to be a big bug got me. But the good news is that because it's Christmas season, I found a bunch of holiday movies to watch while I invalided. But the best news is that I dropped a couple of pounds because I could not eat. But I had to give up exercising and it'll be a few more days as I've still got a killer sore throat.

BorntoBirdKim Happy birthday.

Shannon Glad the dentist visit went okay. I'm not a fan of the dentist either. I was supposed to go today for a cleaning but had to cancel due to illness which just broke my heart. Unfortunately, I'm rescheduled for next week.

Heather/Gayle Those corn recipes sound amazing. I don't think I've ever heard of anything like it.

And pixie dust to all of you with sick babies.

Monica Don't get too down on yourself regarding your diet. I think routine plays an integral part for me so if I had so much topsy turvey stuff happening at my house, I'd be off the charts. Finish your kitchen, post pictures for us, and we'll help you get back on track.

Laura I'm so excited for your pants size change. I know how great that feels. I have to go shopping this week sometime for some pants to wear to my aunt's funeral on Saturday as everything except one pair of jeans is huge on me now. I'm not ready to buy clothes as I've got one more size to go for my goal but I'm going to have to get something for that funeral so that I don't look like a bag lady.

Tia So sorry to hear about your injury. Hopefully you'll find the scooter enhances your vacation and you won't experience any pain.

Allie Glad your neighbor got those ME tags to you. We've never gotten our ME tags on time. There is a black hole here in central CA where all mail falls through. For our Jan trip, I got a towncar instead. Even without the tags, ME will deliver your luggage but it sometimes takes forever. I just didn't want to do it next trip.

Dawn Sorry I didn't get to vote on the xmas photo but they were both great photos anyway. I cannot get my dogs to sit still long enough for a photo like that.

Wendy You are the second person who has recommended those vampire books to me. My aunt has a book club at her ward and they read that book as one of their selections. My aunt is not a vampire loving kind of woman so it really shocked me. I guess I'm going to have to add it to my list. I'm a huge reader.

Majic I know how you feel about being the Addams family. I have things/secrets regarding my son that I do not share and sometimes I just feel so tired from keeping up the fronts. It's been the hardest life possible for me and I wish it hadn't been this way but I can't give up on him. It's unfair but hang in there.

Lunch break is over. Hi to all the peeps I missed.

pakey - hope you're feeling better soon!

wow......you guys have been kinda quiet today. so what's everyone been up to?

i had to go pick out a new scent at bath & body works today. i like to stick with them because i find if you buy lotions that go along with perfumes, the quality isn't as good and i have dry skin....therefore the lotion has to be good stuff! for example, i tried that new DKNY scent "be delicious" last year and i loved the perfume but the lotion was awful! anyway, i digress. i'm getting frustrated with bath & body works because this is the third time they've discontinued the scent i wear. first they discontinued "peace." then they discontinued "white tea and ginger." and now they've done away with "magnolia blossom." so i went today to pick out a new one and i only found one - blackberry amber. i like it but it's not the same as my magnolia blossom! i did manage to find one bottle of lotion of the magnolia blossom and got it but i'm going to save it until summer because it's more of a summery scent. the blackberry amber is a little more musky so it's more of a winter scent. i spilled the body spray all over my hands so i WREAK of it right now!

check this out - this is where we're going this weekend for our company christmas dinner.......YUM!!!!!! although it is going to put a hurtin on my lose-2-pounds-before-christmas goal!

look at the dinner and dessert menus.....:cloud9: http://www.brioitalian.com/menu/

Dawn - I say forget dinner, just get the dessert sampler....YUMMY!!;) :lmao:

That looks really good. That restaurant is close to where my parents live. We may have to go check it out next time we are in town. Please give a dining review after your party.

I hate it when companies change products on you. They get you "hooked" on something, and then BAM - they quit carrying it. :confused3 Hopefully they may come out with a new fragrance that you will like as well as your magnolia blossom.

It has definitely been quiet here... I was so swamped today that I didn't even leave work until almost 8:30.

D, that menu looks to die for. And I hate when they discontinue stuff as well, seems to happen to me all the time.

Funny you should mentioning reeking of scent. I go to the gym at lunch 3-5 times a week, and it seems that recently a "high maintenance" type has joined up and goes at lunch as well. She is super-blonde w/ teased big hair, probably late 40s/early 50s, and the worked-on trophy wife type (some OBVIOUS surgery going on). Anyhow, she sprayed some kind of perfume on her in the locker room yesterday, and I just about choked! I hate when people do that! Plus it was a *gold* scent if that makes any sense... the kind of scent that older fussy people w/ lots of gold jewelry wear. Bleach. :crazy2:

ok..delicious!
I hate when they mess with the scents..they have discontinued 2 of my mom's favorites so far...i am kind of into the Japanese cherry blossom right now myself..but it can be strong if OVERLY applied...

Ok Peeps..i am off at 4 tommorow morning for the airport and my date with some holiday magic! Have a great few days and i'll catch up with you all on Monday! :)
( and happy and safe travels to all my fellow peeps that are going now too!)

yuck! :scared: i hate it when people bathe in their cologne/perfume! a lot of guys tend to do that, too.

i almost bought that! i liked the smell in the bottle but it always smells different once it combines with your body's natural oils or whatever. so i put some of it on my hands and looked around a bit, then smelled it a few minutes later and it smelled like food! like i hadn't washed my hands after eating chips or something. but i'm sure it was just the combination of my skin's oils and that scent because it smells really good in the bottle!

i ended up with the blackberry amber - a little muskier than i normally like but it'll do! i got one body spray and 2 bottles of lotion because i tend to go through that quicker, plus the one bottle of magnolia blossom lotion i found. all those were buy 3 get 1 free. i also got 3 antibacterial soap pump things (they were on sale for $3 each!) and some pillow spray. i LOVE their pillow spray!!! plus i got my stepmom a gift certificate. after using my coupon i only spent $49 on all that! :woohoo:

OMG! Do you know how long I've been looking for this recipe?!? At least I think this is what I'm looking for! DH and I were at a covered dish dinner a couple of weeks ago and he had a dish that sounds like this one that he just raved about! I tried to find it, but didn't exactly know what to call it! So...thanks!:thumbsup2

If you come this way I will wave to as you go by. Remind me do you live in the Jackson area? I will be in Jackson on the 15th---DD has a swim meet there.
Yes...I live right outside of Jackson in the Terry/Byram area. We'll have to have our own little DIS meet one day...that's the day we're coming home from our trip. Good luck to your DD!

Glad to hear that it wasn't too bad today! Hopefully, it won't need the root canal! I had one several years ago and the actual procedure wasn't too bad, but it was a little painful afterwards.

Well, I got on the scale today, even though it's not my weigh-in day, just to see where I'm at weight-wise before my trip. And somehow I have managed to lose another pound. I really don't know how b/c I haven't had even five seconds this week to get on the treadmill and I haven't done so great at watching what I eat...although I don't think I've done too bad.
Maybe it's all this running around I've been doing to get last minute stuff done for our trip! I don't know how I'm going to get everything done! I'm starting to freak out a bit!:scared1:

Mony, it takes a lot of mental energy to diet. My doctor gave me a questionnaire for dieting once, and if you had too many stressors in your life, it said to wait until things settled down before trying to diet. Pretty realistic thinking for a doctor, huh? So don't beat yourself up. Try to do some good things for yourself, like drinking water, getting out for a walk when you can, getting your 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day, and then when you're ready to diet, you'll have those good habits already in place.:)

 Went through the respiratory distress thing when DS was a baby. Hope your little guy outgrows it soon. Mine did.

I had a root canal on a dead nerve, and it was not even as bad as some fillings I've had. And, sicko that I am, I got a laugh while I was there. They had a lady in the next room who was really nervous about dental work. They asked her if she was taking any medications, and in a very loud voice she said no, but that she had taken quaaludes(sp?) in the 80's. OK, that's not really what they were asking about, and for heaven's sake, lower your voice when discussing your seamy past!

Ok Peeps..i am off at 4 tommorow morning for the airport and my date with some holiday magic! Have a great few days and i'll catch up with you all on Monday! :)

Finally, Happy Birthday Kim.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Did I miss someone's birthday??? OH NO!

It wasn't on the list!

EVERYBODY PM ME YOUR BIRTHDAYS!

Hope all is well!

HAVE A GREAT DAY! :flower3:

Morning.

Not only did they paint, they picked up the cabinets and started installing them.

Here's the best part, Gail, his partner, ordered my cabinet drawers to fully extend and they have something that prevents them from slamming and it's a quiet self closing mechanism.

She said they got a deal on them and had room to play with the extras.

I love my pantry and the deep drawers.

Pakey: I hope you are feeling better.

dwheatl: My mom was over yesterday and she was saying the same thing and for once I have to agree with this way of thinking. I am finding I am not super woman like I used to be:rolleyes1 .....Yes she did exist.

MA pigletfan MRNsMommy: Have a great time!:yay: :yay:

Melinda:
Slacker:laughing:

HockeyKat: If I was around a sprayer like that I would have died. I am very sensitive to scents and they literally make me sick. Migrains and nausceous.

Went to the knee doctor and took an x-ray. Said I have bersitis, spell?, in my knee and gave me a script for Lodine. Anti-inflamatory. Said to stay off the knees for a while.

Ok, I need to take some pictures and I'll be back to post.

Two views of the tile. It's dusty I know and it's killing me to post such a dirty picture!

Looks great! I'm assuming you're keeping the cabinets white? The only reason I ask is because I like to watch all of those HGTV home shows (What's my House Worth, House Hunters, etc), and I keep seeing white woodwork with tan, yellow, green, etc walls. And I just  how that looks, and really wish I had done that when I built this house I'm in now. It just looks so dang nice and really classy. I repainted every square inch of my old house, and I did the white trim with the earthtone colored walls. And I really wish I had carried that over to the new house. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

I've had to skim the past few days, so I hope everyone is doing well! & pixiedust: to those who need it.
