 Shannon - wait and see how Phoebe feels in the am - and always follow your 'gut' instinct - always!! I have to say the hardest thing to do is not share things with my mom - its so natural when I start talking on the phone - but it can be a toxic mix - so I have to watch what I say... she's my mom...

WENDY!! Girlfriend.. not EVERYthing on QVC is 'autoship' - many things are - BUT there are TWO codes - one for autoship, one for "one shipment only" but of course I'm addicted to tv, and dont have to watch kiddies to make sure they are safe!!! You are right that these IQUADS have to be out there somewhere - BUT these particular shades are for "QVC Only" - same with Philosphy - I love, love "Amazing Grace" I can buy it at Sephora etc - but to get twice the amount, for the same (or near same, S&H) I watch QVC specials - these arent even in the qvc.com queue - drives me crazy the games we play - for instance the IQUAD I bought has 2 eye brushes, you can buy an Iquad with 1 brush...

no costco near here - do tell!!! *grin

(and you're better off NOT buying on qvc - dont forget if you have a (brain fart... its a certain cosmetic store that has an ad in sunday papers usually, with a $3.50 off coupon, a discount makeup place that sometimes has a beaty shop inside also... grrrrr) any way any store like Sephora that does carry BE you are better off trying the minerals first...

BEARS WIN BEARS WIN!! :woohoo:

Thanks, Sandy. Phoebe seems to be getting around a little better. She isn't licking it or anything, and she has jumped of the bed a couple times and walking without looking like something is wrong. We'll see. I just don't want it to get infected or anything like that. Oh and we did put a little peroxide on it. No blood even came off when my mom wiped. Who knows, maybe she got "it" out and now its just a little sore?

And about QVC, I get BE from there, but not on autoshop. I don't use nearly enough to get it that often. But I do get ProActiv on autoship. There are a couple places that sell it in the store but I hate buying it there (although I do because sometimes I need some extra to tide me over - I go through it pretty quick). Anyway, the pricing on QVC with shipping is about the same as buying it in the store for me. Maybe a couple bucks difference. For me that is worth it because it comes right to my door.

I'm on my way to a family function. I'd rather have a root canal.
My DH's family are about as fun as a stump.

Which makes me kick it up a notch in the attempt to breathe some LIFE into these people.

Should be a blast!

See, If my MIL was still alive (died 3 yrs ago) it would be their 50 year wedding anniversary. IF they stayed married. She HATED her DH (my FIL) but since she's no longer with us, my FIL goes on and on about how wonderful she was and how happy they were. The weren't. She couldn't stand to be in the same room as him. SO, this whole thing entertains me like crazy.

:lmao: This is so funny--only because my inlaws are the same way!!!

Hey Peeps,

A little bit ago, Phoebe, my mom and I were in the back fixin up some things. Phoebe was playing with a new ball we got her. But when she came in, she seemed to be limping a bit. I went to prt her and lift up her leg and she pulled it away. Then I noticed teeny tiny blood drops on the floor. I'm talking like pencil eraser size smudges and there were maybe 5 of them. She kept licking it and I think I saw a small cut on her pads when she let me get a look at her. When she walks she is walking fine but then she will freak and barely put any weight on it. My mom thinks she has/had a '"pricker" in it. Our backyard is not that well maintained and she did dive into a bush getting the ball. These things freak me out. I'm thinking we should take her to the Vet in the a.m. just in case...what do you all think?

On top of that, my mom seems to be getting annoyed at me for showing concern that Phoebe is hurt. :confused3 I notice this a lot when I tell her I have a cold or don't feel well, etc. And I mean telling her as in sharing a fact, not whining or complaining about it. She "doesn't want to hear it". Like I did something to make myself sick on purpose. Again :confused3 .

Sorry for the tangent...please send pixie dust to Phoebe!

Sorry about your mom  Is there any way that you could look at Phoebe's foot and gently feel and see if there is like a pricker that is broken off. I would just see how she is in the morning---if she is still favoring it I would take her.

Well she was laying on her side just now so I took a little peak with my fancy medical flashlight. I don't see a pricker. But I did see a scrape that is about pencil eraser size-ish. It's on the big pad (not the 4 little ones) right at the top, like she slid into something. Looks like it would be sore but it is not an open wound...just looks pink (not black like hers are normally). My mom decided to see how she is in the morning and then call and/or take her in. We think there isn't much he would say other than put some peroxide on it, maybe prescribe an antiobiotic . But I just want to make sure it's clean or there aren't other scrapes in there. I'm such a worry wart.

Thanks everyone so far for the pixe dust.

Hi Peeps,

OMG...I ate this entire weekend !!! :scared: On Saturday night we had friends over and I made ribs and ravioli and coconut shrimp. I got the shrimp recipe off allrecipes.com and I truly think this was one of the best things I have ever made ! I don't even want to think about how many calories I consumed this weekend.

Monday I am back on the wagon ! Big Time.

I figured I would post a quick little bio...

I'm Kim (aka Tinkabella) and I live in Montreal, Quebec. I am 38 and I have 2 kids DD7 and DS5. My husband is in sales and goes to the USA about twice a month...this works out pretty good because I love to shop online and I always have him pick up my "stuff" from his various US locations.

I have been home full time for 7 and half years and I love it ! I am very involved in my kids school and I spend quite a few afternoons there each week. I am also on our school's governing board.

I love chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. Seriously, I think I have a bit of a problem :confused3 .

Hobbies: I love to shop for bargains ! I NEVER pay full price for anything. I play BUNKO once a month with a group of moms from our school and I recently started taking ballet again.

I am a serial lurker...so you may not hear from me too much, but please know that I am always following the peeps. I can't believe that it has been a year, (I found my way over here last year via Wendy's TR). I acutally reached my goal last April right before my trip to Disney...but over the summmer 6 pounds magically reappeared. How'd that happen ????:confused3

Keep drinking your water !

Evening peeps.

Good news. DH got home from his golf weekend. I was almost out of milk for my cheerios and wasn't sure what I was going to do. I haven't been in a grocery store in several years. I'm sure I lost a few pounds in the last 3 days with not much around here to eat. I did sneak one tortilla chip and dang was it good. I thought about grabbing a handful but now I read the nutritional info on everything before putting into my mouth so I stopped after the one. It wasn't that long ago I would have eaten the entire bag.

Wendy I've got that BE autoship and I have an entire cabinet full of makeup. I wore zilch the whole time I was going through chemo but it kept coming and coming. I need to figure out how to get off of the auto ship because I now have at least 5 years worth of makeup.

And all of my in-laws drive me up a wall. Thank goodness DH doesn't care that I dislike them and I never attend any of their functions--DH goes alone. They don't even call our home phone for fear I'm going to answer so they always call DH at his business. It's worked fine for me all these years!

Francesca It looks like your guy, Jimmie, has the cup sewn up this year. The guy is amazing; I can't believe he won that race today. I expect him to win again next year too.

Kim I played Bunko in college and loved it. If I didn't work f/t, I'd have to find me a game to join.

Dawn Any of that beer left? I have had one alcoholic beverage in a year now so it's sounding pretty good.

I've been dealing with this rash for 2 months now. I just hate going to doctors and this past year, I've had almost daily visits. I thought this rash would go away but it's getting worse now. I see my oncologist tomorrow and I'm hoping he can do something about it rather than me having to find a dermatologist. I'm hoping it's a result of my immune system being messed up from chemo rather than a new and exciting medical adventure. I've had enough of those already in 07. But I can't stand the itching any longer. I feel like a dog with fleas.

I hope everyone has a great Veterans Day tomorrow. I'm a veteran (4 years in Air Force) but I have to work as it's year end and a busy time. I always feel like Veterans Day should be my personal holiday.

I hope everyone has a great Veterans Day tomorrow. I'm a veteran (4 years in Air Force) but I have to work as it's year end and a busy time. I always feel like Veterans Day should be my personal holiday.

Thank you for your sacrifice. Sorry you have to work.

you're sort of a newbie, so you don't know this but my best friend is a fitness trainer (she's going with me to WDW in april...maybe....my pre-TR link is below if you're interested). she's actually getting ready to leave her current gym and open an anytime fitness herself. i'm pretty sure that problem would be a case-by-case thing. those anytime fitnesses are franchises and they all have different owners. as far as keeping the equipment clean, they should have some sort of spray and paper towels or something out for you to use to wipe down the machine before you use it. otherwise.....just yuck! :scared: as far as the equipment being broken, that's the owner's fault and they should be more consistent about that.....you have to spend money to make money! otherwise they're not gonna have a successful gym for very long. if you have any other questions about anytime fitness, let me know. i'm sure i could find out from her! ;)
I figured it was just that particular one, but I just wanted to make sure. My DH and I used to be members of a local chain gym that we loved, but I like the idea (with a three-year-old and a newborn) of being able to go whenever I get a chance. Thanks for all the info...I'll probably give it a try!
Glad to hear that everything w/ the reception turned out so great! :lmao: about the little girl throwing the bread crumbs over the railing.

I don't know much about Anytime Fitness, we have one close by but their signup fee was a bit steep. I belong to Planet Fitness, and I joined before they opened so I got a great deal... $20 down and $10/month, no contract or commitment required. The one I joined is 5 min from work, but work is 30 min from home so no weekend time. However, I am SOOO excited because they opened a new one 10 min from home and my membership is good there!! I went yesterday.
I did notice that the joining fee was a little higher than the previous gym (which was much larger) we used. But I figured it might be worth it to be able to go whenever I can get a few minutes each day...plus, it's the closest one to us now, so it won't take me even two minutes to get there...which is a huge plus for me.

Aw, poor Phoebe! Hope she's ok!

Happy Veterans Day! Sorry you didn't get a day to relax! Hope it wasn't too bad at work!

I'm so dreading my weigh-in tomorrow morning for WW! On my WI her on Friday, I'd lost 1.4 (I think), but I'm pretty sure w/ everything I ate last night and this afternoon, I've probably gained it all back...then some! I did manage to run two miles on the treadmill tonight...which makes the 5th time this week I've managed to get on it...so, hopefully, that'll pay off some! Crossing my fingers!

And all of my in-laws drive me up a wall.

I have been up this very same wall ALOT of times. Inlaws......good thing you don't have to love'em! Happy Veterans Day Pakey. I hope you feel better. Hopefully 2008 will have many great times in store for you. :flower3:

I'm on my way to a family function. I'd rather have a root canal.

.

Can you please come to my next inlaw (should be outlaw ;) ) family disfunction? I would love to be more entertained while I am there. I usually sit back and take in the atmosphere, saying all of maybe 20 sentences from start to finish. I've been going to these for so long, I can pretty much tell who's going to say what, who's going to talk about whom, which one will get mad and leave first, aaaand who the first drinker to the finish line will be.....insert name here! Let the games begin! Really this could be either DH's family or mine, this is why I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year at our home. If they want to come o.k., if not yay. Doesn't everyone love thier inlaws? I am glad to be a grown up with my own family now. !!!

HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE!

Good morning everyone! I fell off the wagon this weekend. I did not exercise at all- BUT- I did work nonstop on getting my house on order and clean. My body is killing me! I also haven't made any horrible food choices so I guess that's good too. Back to drinking a bazillion gallons of water today!:surfweb:

Ok I'm in. Hopefully this is just what I need to keep me motivated. I'll be doing South Beach...just seems healthy.

1. I'm starting with a goal of 20 just to get me started ...really need to lose more like 60 or 70 but want to see how it goes as I get littler and littler!

2. The water thing you all talk about ...i know it's key!

3. More exercise. Would you believe I'm on the board of directors of our YMCA and until this past February was the President for 2 years. Seems like I only go to the Y for meetings...I guess I'll slip some exercise time in there too.

I can use all of your help in keeping this humourous! ThankS!

Well that was my first post on 11/11/06 - yup I was a late comer. Didn't join til Day 2!

I started off great. I was actually up to 28 pounds lost in May! But over the summer I gained almost 1/2 of that back!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I suppose at least I am 15 pounds down from a year ago! SO thanks for getting me started, I know I'm better off than I would have been without you guys! Time to get started again. I do seem to do a better job losing in the winter.:confused3 So time for new goals! I'd like to lose 15 pounds more by the end of January. Back to massive water consumption and exercise. Last January I asked for and recieved an elliptical for my birthday. I was up to at least an hour a day in MArch but don't think I've stepped on the thing since then :guilty: It is like an expensive scupture sitting in my family room. Just sitting there to be looked at!;) I guess I better start using it again.

Well now that it's been a year I think I'll actually finally post a bio later tonight! I'm going into work today. Hopefully everyone will think my office is closed so I can get a bit of catch up work done!:thumbsup2

Good Morning Peeps,

Phoebe is doing better I think, although still limping off of it occasionally. I called the Vet and they said I should still bring her in. We have a 10:30 appt. Not sure if I will take her or my mom or both. But I'll let you all know tonight how my baby is doing.

On a complete side note, I turned my cell phone on this morning. I have a message. I think it's work telling me my patient that always cancels, cancelled again. Big wrong. It's the boy. Yes remember him? :confused3 Haven't talked to him on the phone or even in class in weeks. I don't even look in his direction. I did cave a couple of weeks ago and called him to see what was up. But even prior to that we hadn't been talking for a good 2 weeks. Apparently he was just catching up with his messages, heard mine and gave me a call where he proceeded to leave the longest message telling me about his semester, wishing me luck on my presentation tonight, and then left it at we will catch up later. I'm actually annoyed at this. Why even bother calling me back. Tonight will be the last time I see him probably in forever (don't mean that to sound so dramatic). It's our last class and he is finished at the clinic and starting his externship next semester so unless we are talking on the phone (ha yeah right) we probably won't ever talk again. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted.

Hope everyone has a great Monday. :goodvibes I already feel like it will be a long day.

I was actually worried last night about your dog! Poor paw. Hope she's better!

As for the boy, good riddance. Aloof game player. Tell him "You're just not in to him" anymore, his loss. If your situation was ME, the boy ironically would get married to someone else in the very near future :upsidedow . God has hand picked a great guy for you, I'll bet. Hopefully, he's not the dude you flipped off on the freeway one time (just kidding ;) )

HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE!

Ditto! Melinda, you are so good at responding to everyone's posts! I always read things but don't always make responses (usually because I get interrupted by a little person desperately needing my attention).

I had to go buy khaki pants yesterday and WOW, what an eye opening experience. My weight had been up since my two visits to WDW this fall and my exercise routine was nonexistent so I guess I should not have been surprised at the experience I had in the dressing room. I'm just saying that if I had really take a look at how pants were fitting me everyday perhaps I would be a bit more motivated! Yikes!

This all stems from my decision to take a seasonal retail job. It's not like I have time for another job. Several people from last year's seasonal job are working at a new place and have been trying to recruit me for months so I figured what the heck! I could use some Christmas cash. I am shopping for five kids after all.

Not only does this place require khaki pants (which I didn't have) but I have to TUCK IN MY SHIRT. Holy cow! I'm a good twenty pounds from the weight I fell comfortable tucking in a shirt!!!! But this might just be the motivation I need!

I'm recommitting to making good food choices EVERYDAY not just when I'm in the mood to be good. And, some form of exercise EVERYDAY even if it's a walk with the kids but I have to keep moving this behind so there's not so much behind me!!

Thanks for starting this thread Wendy and everyone who posts (and lurks) here regularly. It's nice to have a place to visit each day where others understand what struggling with weight is like!

I was almost out of milk for my cheerios and wasn't sure what I was going to do. I haven't been in a grocery store in several years.

you may have mentioned this before and i missed it or it may be something very personal and i'm sticking my nose where it shouldn't belong, but why haven't you been in a grocery store in several years? just curious. i'm sorry if i'm being too nosey! if you don't want to talk about it, just tell me to get lost and i'll get the hint! ;)

I've been dealing with this rash for 2 months now. I just hate going to doctors and this past year, I've had almost daily visits. I thought this rash would go away but it's getting worse now. about your rash, if nothing is helping ask your doctor about going to the tanning bed. my mom had an unexplained rash a couple years ago and the doctor actually told her to go to the tanning bed for like 10 minutes each week. it helped to clear up her skin and stop the itching.

happy veterans day to you!!!!! and to any other veteran peeps we have! veteran's day is usually on november 11th which is my grandmother's birthday and she would always say that it was so nice of people to take off work for her birthday! :rotfl:

Phoebe is doing better I think, although still limping off of it occasionally. I called the Vet and they said I should still bring her in. We have a 10:30 appt. Not sure if I will take her or my mom or both. But I'll let you all know tonight how my baby is doing.

hope phoebe is feeling better! let us know. i'm actually going to the vet this morning, too, but it's just to take eli in to check his progress on the appetite suppressant he's been on. he still looks fat to me, but we'll see.

and about the boy, i'd seriously call him and thank him for calling, but that you are just too busy to have a relationship right now. i understand the guy's busy, but gimme a break. someone can't pick up the phone and return a call????? that's a pet peeve of mine. i hate talking on the phone, but i always return people's calls.

we are out of beer!!!!! ray invited some friends over yesterday to watch football and the keg is now empty. i don't drink beer so i couldn't help. the one time we have a surplus of something and it's something i don't like!

okay, peeps.....i'm again 1 pound away from my goal! :woohoo: i guess all the running around i did on saturday burned some calories. weird because i ate cake and drank wine that night! and i had a margarita yesterday, too. usually alcohol hinders my weight loss. i was so tired last i went to bed at 7:30 and slept until 8:00 this morning......:scared1:

the movie "cool as ice" with vanilla ice is on HBO right now. it's hilarious!!! :rotfl2:

Thanks everyone so far for the pixe dust.

Glad you have an appointment - dont forget you also can use the triple antibiotic cream on their cuts too...

Thank you for your sacrifice. Sorry you have to work.

Pakey ditto - and amen!! You just keep on keepin on!! And call QVC tell them to stop the autoship girlfriend!!! (any good eye colors??? LOL j/k but I'm thinking some of your extra stuff may make good stocking stuffers for you!!) Try - 1-800 - 367-9444

I have been up this very same wall ALOT of times. Inlaws......good thing you don't have to love'em! Happy Veterans Day Pakey. I hope you feel better. Hopefully 2008 will have many great times in store for you. :flower3:

In-laws... well lets just say since my DH told his sisters they owe me an apology (they 'ganged up on me after their dad died - I think the last straw for me was when I went to sit in the reading corner and turn on the lamp and was cussed out - royally! and the other sister piled on) which of course they are glad I'm gone - the oldest sister (4 years younger than me) I think she was just jealous, her sisters were getting close to me, Dh and I had kids... stable marriage... she's been divorced 3 times, lives in FL (in laws live IN we're in IL) But when the youngest girls got married... :sad2: Lets just say they refuse to apologize, so dh refuses to talk to them, and his mom well, she "gets" girls and kinda picks them over dh - she never calls, she just doesnt get that she hurts dh... I'm staying out of it.

Good luck with the dream job!

GO KAT GO!!!

Kim serial lurker - :rotfl2: Love that siggy line - lets all DRINK OUR WATER PEEPS!!

Not sure if I'm up to exercise yet - But I have to begin somewhere - I think I'll get my 5# weights out and move some arms -

WHAT WILL YOU DO TODAY - for YOU!! :cheer2: :hourglass

Hello everyone :)
Hope the weekend was a good one..mine was a bit uneventful, I managed to sneak a Curves workout in on Saturday, which is good considering they are closed today..I didnt' even realize it was a Holiday! Thats what I get for being out of work...I am still waiting to hear from the Mortgage guy and HOPING that it will be good news and I can start full time on Dec 1!
I do have a good thing that happened this weekend to share...just for kicks I tried on a pair of jeans I bought about a year ago in the wrong size. I never returned them thinking that they would someday fit..the day was Saturday! :)
I was sooo excited.....
Another cute thing that happened was Greg spotting the "Hidden Mickey's" at the end of Ratatoulie last night...I was pretty proud ;) :lmao:
