Hello everyone :)
Hope the weekend was a good one..mine was a bit uneventful, I managed to sneak a Curves workout in on Saturday, which is good considering they are closed today..I didnt' even realize it was a Holiday! Thats what I get for being out of work...I am still waiting to hear from the Mortgage guy and HOPING that it will be good news and I can start full time on Dec 1!
I do have a good thing that happened this weekend to share...just for kicks I tried on a pair of jeans I bought about a year ago in the wrong size. I never returned them thinking that they would someday fit..the day was Saturday! :)
I was sooo excited.....
Another cute thing that happened was Greg spotting the "Hidden Mickey's" at the end of Ratatoulie last night...I was pretty proud ;) :lmao:

a.) YAY on the jeans!
b.) WHAT hidden Mickey's????? What part? I did not know this :sad2:

I'd like to join too. My name is Laura and I have about 150 lb to lose. I am on WW and have lost 9 lb so far. I was up to 18 lb but in the summer I gained half back. Now I am back on track and ready to go. So glad I can some support in my weight loss and Disney at the same time. How cool is that?:thumbsup2

Sorry I missed Saturday's celebration. I was here in spirit. I've emptied out my kitchen and we are living out of boxes. :rotfl:

Looks like I have lots of fun bio's to read and I know, I'll post mine later when the kids are sleeping.

Baby has a bilateral ear infection. So fun to wait hours in urgent care. At least she's better. The last few nights were rough.

Now I have the virus and I have that deep, low, "mommy why are you talking so funny" voice. And the stupid wake me out of a dead sleep choking cough.

Oh Joy!

How come when I get sick, I never get, the I can't eat symptom?

Have a great skinny week!

Laura Welcome to the peeps!

Monica Hope you feel better soon.

Sandy Thanks for the BE phone number.

Gina Big congrats for fitting into the smaller jeans. I don't think anything feels like a bigger accomplishment than getting into smaller clothes.

Dawn The reason I haven't been into a grocery store in years is that I've been a very selfish person. Before cancer, I worked close to 16 hours a day, 6, sometimes 7, days a week. So I never had time to do anything. I felt that because I was the big bread winner, I was justified in working all of the time and ignoring everyone and everything. Then I got sick and am just getting back on my feet, really. I'm not going back to the old me but I still haven't been to the grocery store yet. I'm almost intimidated by it now!!!!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday (is there such a thing?). I'm sitting here at work, itching and scratching and counting the minutes until my doctor's appt this pm. Hopefully he can do something for me. I've got hives on top of hives!!!!!

Thanks for all the encouragement on the job!!

Shannon, glad that Phoebe is feeling a bit better, and hope that the vet appt went well. My kitty is my baby so I totally understand the worrying.

Pakey, sorry you didn't get the day off. And thanks for the service you did for our country! I would bet that your rash is eczema. It tends to follow auto-immune disorders or anything that lowers your immune system. I had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (auto-immune), and the resulting eczema, as a kid... I was lucky enough to grow out of both. Perhaps as your system recovers from the chemo, the eczema will also go away. I second the tanning booth, but ask your dr as there are tons of stuff available to treat it.

Mony, hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for all the BE advice... I got mine on craigslist, $20 total for the 3 brushes (travel kabuki, blending, concealer), 2 foundations, and 1 mineral veil. I know when I need to replace, though, that that kind of deal won't be available again!!

Welcome!! This is a great group!

Doesn't everyone love their inlaws? I am glad to be a grown up with my own family now. !!!
When I count my blessings, my in-laws are close to the top of my list. My DMIL was my inspiration to get my Master's in library science, and is so supportive and non-judgmental. And my DSIL is a sweetheart. FIL took off when DH was in kindergarten, and good riddance to him. So I really do feel blessed.

Wooo hooo on the jeans. :woohoo: That's so affirming of your efforts, AND it's like free shopping!

Welcome to the group. I know the weather has turned a little chilly in some places, so feel free to take your bikini picture (that we have all posted) indoors.:rotfl: J/K

Hope you and baby feel better soon. DD had chronic ear infections as a little one. Thank God she outgrew that. And I'm with you on the husky voice. I'd like to think I sound like Jessica Rabbit, but it's more like some old waitress in a coffee shop who smokes two packs a day. And the red nose is soooo sexy!

We went out for Cuban food last night. I had a pechuga de pollo, which was grilled chicken with onions and peppers. I think that was pretty healthy, but the fried plantains were probably not the best choice. At least I skipped the mojitos.

Just caught up reading.

I wanted to send a Happy Veterns Day to Pakey!!!!

Off to find my first post............

Can I hop on board here? I really need something to motivate me. I did SB before and did good, so I know it works for me. I've lost 40 pounds on the plan but gained almost 20 back. I won't gain it all though. Because I found this.

There's nothing that frustrates me more than losing weight I already lost.

I will lose 60 pounds. (total) But I just want to get the first 10 gone.

I will get back on my tread mill daily. right now at least 2 a week.

I will drink more water. 8 glasses a day.

I will keep a weekly weigh in. So my "friends" can cheer me along.

Wish me luck.

Thanks for starting this UM.

Found it! And it was right before pixie's. Seems like I'm right back where I started.

Ok, seriously, I need to get this attitude back. I read a bunch of my posts and I was thinking to myself, who is that person? and how can I find her?

I need some serious mental adjustments cause I am no where near to being "IN" this thing. I want to but something is blocking my will power. I can't hear it. I can't feel it. I can't find it.

I lost it. HELP!

Starting Over:

Hi, my name is Monica. I just had baby number 4. I'm done nursing. I'm done having kids. I'm done making excuses why I have only lost 2 pounds of the pregnancy weight these last 3 months.

I'd like to be a part of this group and actually lose weight. I don't want to be just a cheerleader. I want to be part of the team too.

I need to lose 50 pounds. Yikes!

I need to stay away from my kids Halloween candy. (will they just hurry up and eat it already. What's wrong with them. Can't they just stuff their little faces like any other child? Didn't their mother teach them anything?)

I'm too depressed to post a picture.

okay.....i need advice and i figured this is the place to get it!

i'm 30 years old. i'm 5'3" and i weigh about 160 (eeekkkk!!!!!!!! that's a hard one to be honest about!). i work out 3-4 times a week with a mix of weights and cardio. my best friend is a fitness trainer, so she really helps me with my workouts and i enjoy them - it's the hour out of the day that i can just think of nothing but getting through this workout - no work, no family, no drama, no finances, nothing. i eat healthy, not cutting out carbs completely but trying to do the "good carb" thing with whole wheat everything and lots of lean meat, fruits, veggies. i'm not too stressed out with my life, i love my job and i have a wonderful marriage.

so how come i can't get into the shape i want to??? :confused3

i began using a fat burner (lipo 6) on the advice of my fitness trainer friend at the beginning of january. that was 2 months ago. now i don't expect to drop 6 sizes in that amount of time, but i just took an updated bathing suit picture to see how i'm doing and i'm not noticing ANY difference! it's so frustrating and discouraging.

i've always had a big butt and thick legs. it's in my genes. i know i can't get away from it. so i KNOW i'll never be a size 4. my goal is to get down to 130, although i don't want to concentrate too much on my weight because i do work out a lot and i know i'm building muscle, which accounts for a good bit of that weight.

i'm thinking of trying out a diet, but i have no idea where to start. i've never done anything like weight watchers or nutrisystem.....just kind of winged it on my own.

any advice????????

i found my first post! it was on 3/1. i weighed 160 then and now i'm at 131 so i've lost 29 pounds. after this quote i got SOOOOOO many good tips from you guys, the two most important being count your calories and drink LOTS of water. THANK YOU, PEEPS!!!!!! you really did help me with this weight loss and i'm so thankful for it! :grouphug:

:lmao:

I'll post a real picture of me from Christmas time with the family. I don't usually take pictures unless my kids are in it too.

Ok as promised here is my picture from Christmas of 2006. I joined WW in March 07. Thanks for all of your warm welcomes. I need support. Not that DH doesn't give it to me or anything because he does but when you have a lot of lose sometimes people can't understand. Even my mom is a great supporter but she is thin and never had to lose over 100 lb.

Hi Monica! (Re-)Welcome to the thread! :goodvibes :thumbsup2 I want to be part of the team more too... less moaning and more doing.

I went back and found my first post too... 4/19, page 824. I was 201 lbs then, and weighed in at 179.8 this morning, so that is about 21 lbs that this thread has helped me lose. Thanks everyone!!

My low weight on this thread was about 175, so my net gain from 2 bad months (Sept/Oct) hasn't as much damage as I thought it would.

I started dieting on Feb 2 with a start weight of 218, so 38.2 total loss since then. My goal is 145-150 so I am about 30-35 lbs away from it.

So far so good on the Alli... I had a 420 cal, 24g fat Banquet fried chicken meal for lunch (quite yummy!!), so I am curious to see what that does for "treatment" effects. I am also planning to hit the gym this afternoon.

Laura, your family is gorgeous! You will definitely fit in great here, just post away. The ladies (and guy) here have some great dieting advice!

Laura! :welcome:

I agree your family is just beautiful.

You have a beautiful smile too.

Are you exercising? I need an exercise buddy. Someone I can challenge and keep up with. I mostly walk or do the treadmill. I just need to actually do it.

Thanks. You guys are making me blush. I do try and go to the gym and walk on the treadmill at least twice a week. I haven't gone in a couple of weeks because DD was sick, then me, the her again. I am going on Wednesday and I try to walk for 45 min. Let's work together.

As for the boy, good riddance. Aloof game player. Tell him "You're just not in to him" anymore, his loss. If your situation was ME, the boy ironically would get married to someone else in the very near future :upsidedow . God has hand picked a great guy for you, I'll bet. Hopefully, he's not the dude you flipped off on the freeway one time (just kidding ;) )

Wow. I could have said the same exact thing- well, about the getting married part. Although my ex and I have only been broken up for maybe 2 1/2 months... he's already purchased a house and given the homewrecker a 2 CARAT engagement ring! :confused3
Although I didn't at the begining, I'm finding this quite hilarious now. And to top it off - I got a Facebook friend request from her yesterday! :rotfl2: I sent her a message saying that I didn't want to be mean - but why the friend request. And get this - her response was "I didn't do anything personal to you, and you didn't do anything to me. We're both adults." Um... yeah. I'd say breaking up my home and relationship with someone is something personal. But it takes 2 to tango. He's just as guilty as she is.

Wonders- And I know my opinion doesn't mean squat... but I agree with UtahMama. It's taken a lot of soul searching on my part to realize that things happen for a reason. Sometimes God puts us thru a little heck to spare us from even bigger hurts. And you (like us all) deserve someone who is going to return phone calls in a timely manner, amongst other things. :goodvibes

Not that I'm saying anyone HAS to read them - but the books "He's Just Not That In To You" and "It's Called A Break-up Because It's Broken" are really good. Harsh truths with a comedic spin.

Not only does this place require khaki pants (which I didn't have) but I have to TUCK IN MY SHIRT. Holy cow! I'm a good twenty pounds from the weight I fell comfortable tucking in a shirt!!!! But this might just be the motivation I need!

I'm recommitting to making good food choices EVERYDAY not just when I'm in the mood to be good. And, some form of exercise EVERYDAY even if it's a walk with the kids but I have to keep moving this behind so there's not so much behind me!!
But YIKES :scared1: ...I think tucking in my shirt would be a motivation factor in losing weight, too! Maybe I should go do that now, take a picture, and post it on my pantry door! I can't even remember the last time I tucked my shirt in!
Good luck on your recommitment!

we are out of beer!!!!! ray invited some friends over yesterday to watch football and the keg is now empty. i don't drink beer so i couldn't help. the one time we have a surplus of something and it's something i don't like!

Seriously! Why can't they make kegs of margaritas or martinis?!?

I do have a good thing that happened this weekend to share...just for kicks I tried on a pair of jeans I bought about a year ago in the wrong size. I never returned them thinking that they would someday fit..the day was Saturday! :)
I was sooo excited.....

I did the same thing last year...accidentally bought the wrong pair of jeans! Unfortunately, I don't think I'd have the same outcome if I were to go try them on right now! So, Congrats to you!

Welcome! I'm a newbie here, too, and am also doing WW! Do you go to meetings or do it online?

Hope everyone is having a great Monday (is there such a thing?). I'm sitting here at work, itching and scratching and counting the minutes until my doctor's appt this pm. Hopefully he can do something for me. I've got hives on top of hives!!!!!

Hope the Dr. gives you something to cure your itch!

I have the same problem area that you mentioned in your first post! I also know I'll never be a size 4, and that's not my goal. I just want to get rid of the thunder thighs! Care to pass your knowledge along...What kind of work out routine do you do?

I went back and found my first post too... 4/19, page 824. I was 201 lbs then, and weighed in at 179.8 this morning, so that is about 21 lbs that this thread has helped me lose. Thanks everyone!!

Congrats on the weight you have lost! And I am quite anxious to hear how the Alli does after the fried chicken. My mom was taking it when it first came out, but she just couldn't handle it!

As I expected, if you read my post from last night, the scales did not give me a favorable reading this morning! I did NOT like what I saw!:scared1: So, today I am back on track after a not-so-great-ate-too-much weekend! I will be working my butt off (hopefully, literally) on the treadmill tonight and doing some weights! I want it gone!

Ok, I don't know too much about you and your ex, except what you posted a couple of days ago on your bio...but that takes some nerve from "the homewrecker"!:scared1: What a witch!

MRMsMommy - Welcome for you too. I go to meetings but I love the online stuff. I use the points tracker, weight tracker and even used the recipe builder to get the points for a dish I made. What do you do?
