Does anyone have current experience with Budget at MCO? I called the Budget MCO number and asked about the $ amount of credit card hold and was informed that they didn't charge a credit card hold if you had a return flight, but if you google whether or not there is a hold at Budget it states that there is. Since I am a Budget Fast Break member and using it with my rental I will not be going to the counter and hopefully everything with be ready when I hit the garage. Does anyone know if there is a credit card hold or not, just like to be informed.

If in doubt just assume they will. You can call the main number 800-218-7992 and ask, but you're probably not going to get anything more concrete just a different response. If you have already made the reservation check your CC statement or call your CC company and ask them.

I have never not had a hold placed on my card when doing a rental. It's similar to a hotel as the charges just drop off typically but if there is a problem or you have tolls etc that they can then charge you down the road.

We rented from Budget last week, booked through Costco, as we have many times, and we’ve never had a hold on our CC. We’re Fastbreak members also and only need to stop at the kiosk to pick up our paperwork, then go to our car.

That’s interesting. I’ve never rented from Budget before. Do they require you to have a credit card in your account?

We’ve always booked through Costco. We have a CC attached to that account, and that card is automatically charged after we turn the car in. The first time we used Fastbreak (it wasn’t at MCO) we did have to go to the counter to show ID and CC but haven’t had to do that since then whenever we’ve booked with Budget, no matter which airport.

I booked through Costco and have the cc attached to my fast break account. Which i have used before so hopefully everything will be ready in the garage. Arriving late with kids and just want to get to resort as quickly as I can.

In my experiences with Budget at MCO, they authorize your card for the expected amount at pick up, then finalize the charge upon return. Hertz and Enterprise companies, they've always authorized the card for the expected amount plus $200.

I can't speak to experience at MCO, but this is what my local Enterprise did when I had to get a rental while my car was being worked on. On rental day, they put two holds on my credit card. One for one day's rental charges and the second for remaining charges plus $300 deposit. On the last scheduled day of the rental, I had to extend because my car was not ready, so I let Enterprise know, and they put a third hold for the extra 1 day's rental and fees.

When I returned the car, they emailed me the final bill. This was last Friday. After the holiday weekend my credit card is showing one charge for the amount of the final bill, dated the day the car was returned, and all the holds were removed.

I have had the same with my Budget rentals using Costco and as a fast break member. Go to garage, pull rental agreement sitting in fast break rack, go to car slot indicated, drive to exit, show my ID, and we are off to WDW. No waiting in line or having to show my credit card. My card attached to the Costco rental is charged when I return the car. Just did this a few weeks ago.
