so cute!!! :goodvibes

Oh. My. Gosh! You look so good! Really!!!!

You are so thin! You look amazing! PLEASE tell me what you've done that helps the most! :yay:

thanks, UM. i'm not where i wanna be, but i'm getting close (thanks to my peeps). i think the three things that help me the most are water, water and water. no, seriously. i drink nothing but water except in the mornings i drink coffee (1 or 2 cups). of course the exercise and calorie counting plays an important role too. i think just walking on the treadmill does sooooooo much good! i love the weight training although i know if i want to lose the poundage i need to have some cardio in there, too. once i get to the weight i want to be, i'll do more weight training so i can start toning what i have! believe me......i've lost a good bit of the weight i wanted, but it still looks like cottage cheese in some areas!

PUNKIN.....cute pictures. Looks like a fun night out! Isn't Anna getting married soon too?

yes....october 20th in destin, florida. it's ANOTHER thing i have coming up. these next couple of months are going to be CRAZY! disney in september, anna's wedding in october, thanksgiving, christmas...i guess it'll just make the time go by quicker until i'm back in disney world again! ;) good luck at the doctor's today, melinda!!! :goodvibes

welp, i did my weekly pre-weigh-in-day cheat weigh-in and guess what.......i got new bling!!! :yay: FINALLY. 3 more pounds to go!!! :thumbsup2

..ok so if this post is TMI..i completely apologize, but i just really wanted to share this health issue here in hopes that someone has some insight on it, and you are all such wonderful advice givers!
Ok..for the past week or so I have been having on and off horrible cramping pains in my lower abdominal region...followed by more gas than usual ( nice huh? hahah)..and painful pooh: here and there. I have been eating a ton of fiber and drinking alot of water to HOPEFULLY go along with it, so i have no idea what is going on. Is it possible that i am not drinking as much water as i should..i do at least 64 oz a day, sometimes 80-90?? I of course had to look up " bowel obstruction" on the net and got all scared when they started mentioning lesions, tumors..yada yada..because i have a past of pre-cancerous cells in my cervix ( i have another apt. in sept to get the good old "lady test" and see if they are back)..i feel like i am more at risk for those types of things in that area...ugh. i hate worrying about stuff like this.
Is there any way this ISN'T something serious???
THanks soooo much for reading...i would love any responses you have :grouphug:

have you read any info on irritable bowel syndrome? that's what i'm 99% sure i have. it makes you go big potty very irregularly. like sometimes i'll go twice a day and then sometimes i'll only go once a week......no joke. and of course when the latter happens it's painful with cramps and everything. it also gives you bad gas sometimes. basically it just means that your intestine is crazy! look it up online. if you still have a doubt, i would go to the doctor. i need to go, too, i just haven't yet because i'm too much of a chicken. yeah, yeah, i know......it's the pot calling the kettle black kinda thing. i know i need to go....just don't want to because i'm positive that's what i have. if that's what you end up thinking you have, the best thing is just to keep drinking lots of water and include fiber in your diet. do you eat a lot of apples? i find they're the best thing.......an apple a day keeps the doctor away! also, i take papaya enzymes to help with digestion. i usually take 2 after lunch and 2 after dinner. hope this helps! :goodvibes

I would ask the doctor about it. Cound be IBS (just like punkin said), could be some other not so terribly pleasant, but not so terribly serious things too, but if this is new for you, I'd ask the doctor about it.

Woo Hooty on the new bling Dawn! :woohoo: :cheer2: :cool1:

Oh my... I have been a neglectful peep this week! Sorry! My baby sis came to visit and we've been on the go!

Thanks bunches to Melinda and everyone else for all the congratulations on the w/l last week! It means a lot to have people who understand the momentousness (is that even a word)??

I haven't had time to go back and read all of the posts that I missed, but hugs and prayers to those who need them.

I am actually hoping for a samer this week -- a loss would be great, but I won't expect one. Kate and I went to the ocean yesterday to outlet shop, stick our toes in the atlantic, and (here's the bad part) eat at our favorite restaurant in the ENTIRE universe -- La Hacienda's. OMG their nachos are the best ever!!! I had nachos and tacos and guacamole, oh my. I'm back on the wagon today and on my way out the door for a walk...

:)

Also..congrats on the BEAUTIFUL new bling! :cool1: exciting!!!! :)

Good morning all---I don't even plug in my computer on Wed when b/c of church and just notime to get on--so I am just getting on today. I have to take my laptop back and forth b/c our home puter crashed a while back. I am sooooo exhausted by this time of the morning. If I laid my head down on my desk I am sure that I would fall asleep. My life just like yours is very hectic and will be until the baby is born. Katie has swim everyday and Andrew has cross country everyday. Wed. are very long because I go from the time I wake up 5 ish until we get home from church and all homework is done. It seems that in 7th grade they have several projects due every week depending on the class. So Andrew and I are very stressed as far as the amount of work goes. He has a huge project due tomorrow, test yesterday, today, and tomorrow along with the regular stuff due. I guess we both need to learn a little bit more of time management. Well I am sure that I have bored you to tears already so I will end this now.

I have been having Braxton Hicks all week--lets just say I neverr ever had those with teh other 3. Acutally I have been having them for about 4 weeks, but this week has been the worst. I have also been having muscle cramps like crazy. Go to the Dr. this afternoon--will see what he says.

Is it me, or can Angelina Jolie use a good sandwich?

So, I am a very depressed peep. We are having horrible apartment hunting luck and it seems like we are going to have to get rid of our dog. I am trying so hard. I love him so much. He is like my baby but we are running out of options. I have easily made 40 phone calls in the last week, easily. nothing. either no dog or it allows dogs and its a dump, or they only allow small dogs. I cry everytime I think about it (like right now). I only want to eat trans fat all day because I am so upset (seriously I have been resisiting tho) and when I see Liam all I keep thinking of is Lilo and Stitch "Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind".... I don't know what to do anymore. And I know its petty compared to the problems some people have. I am just at this breaking point and I feel like moving in with Rob was supposed to be such a fun and happy time but its just sad and disappointing. And Liam is such a good boy. I think maybe he would be better off not in an apartment sometimes but then I think that he would no we left him and miss us. We cant afford a $1200 apartment that charges $100 pet rent, we can't catch a break, and I don't know what to do anymore. Sorry to bring this up again since I already vented once but I didn't know who else to talk to. :guilty: :sad1:

 i can't believe apartments up there charge pet rent! i've never even heard of that. usually down here it's a one-time pet fee and it's around $150. i hope something turns up for you soon.......:flower3:

Have you been off the diet lately and gone back on? I know when I have cheat day(s) and I go back to low cal/high fiber/much water my stomach can me unhappy for a few days while my system adjusts.

so cute!!! :goodvibes

Yay!!! I think you look great too.

I agree that exercise is a key to weight loss. I see it as exercise being the reason that occasionally giving in doesn't do as much damage... like cheat insurance.

Also, I read something on sparkpeople that I think is a great tip for dieting. Giving in to cravings in a smart way. We all have them, of course, and I think that denying your cravings over and over leads to binging... if you crave something, eat a little of it and count it in your calories. I personally can't live on tuna and salad all the time... I need a small fries (250 cals) from McDs now and again. Just check the nutritional info on whatever it is you are craving and eat enough of it to fit it into your day. Or, plan for it... say the next cheat day I have will be XX and and I will have whatever it is that I really want.

Anyhow, work has gone nuts while I typed this so I am out for now. Have a great day!

i would say she could use a good Eclair or seven.

hmm..that is possible too. I have been much better about eating less fat and LOTS more fiber..so maybe..its just so weird that the pain is always on the left side ..like thats where my "gas" likes to hang out. ha

i totally agree with your exercise is key belief and that denying cravings can lead to bingeing. I always make room in my diet for foods i am really craving. it might not be the day i first think " OOH..fried calamari would be great right now!"...but i will make room for it later in the week somehow by eating a super light lunch or something...

Top 5 (ok 6!)weight loss tips.....

EAT BREAKFAST...Always eat breakfast! It jump starts your metabolism. Eat healthy snacks between meals like almonds, fruit, raw veggies. They keep the hunger away.

REMOVE THE TEMPTATION....Get your binge foods OUT OF THE HOUSE! I no longer buy Cheez-Its, Cheetos, chips or cookies. They are not good for me AND they are not good for my family. Fill up the fridge and pantry with delicious HEALTHY options!

DRINK WATER
...and water only. Stay far away from the sugary drinks.

EXERCISE....Even if you start by walking around your own house...you must exercise somehow. You don't have to start off running a mile...just get moving.

ADD FIBER....Fiber fills you up and keeps you moving. KWIM. I eat a serving of Fiber One every day. It's not so great alone so I add a half serving of some cereal I like on top. I also add some flax seed meal....4 g of fiber and lots of health benefits. Try to work up to 25 or 30 g of fiber per day.

COUNT CALORIES
....Punkin's right...the formula is 12 calories per pound X your goal weight. You have to practice to be the weight you want by eating that amount of food. READ THIS.

TREAT YOURSELF....I like chocolate so I have a mini Heath bar or a Dove Dark Chocolate when I feel a craving coming on....usually at night.

Ok!!! Thanks! Stuff I NEED to internalize and really GET!
When i started alli, I started writing down the calories and fat since they suggested I get 1800 calories. I was shocked at first and wasn't able to eat that much! Once I DID reach 1800 calories, I started losing. Which I don't get. I think those 300-400 more calories gave me energy? I was walking too. This was a good 3 weeks! I don't know why I slammed on the breaks????

So, I am back full force. I do drink Crystal Lite after my morning Caffeine.

This is what I want to know, positively the real answer:

WHY can't you drink diet soda? No calories! Is it the sodium? I can switch to Diet Rite that has no sodium (not a lot any way) and it doesn't help. Why water? I just don't get it! I've read every thing from your body still thinks it's real sugar (NO, I don't think so. MY body gets VERY sick when I eat too much real sugar). I guess it's just a JUST SHUT UP AND DO IT type of thing. Yes I'm frustrated, but if the only way I get results is to drink water, I'll do it.

Fiber (with water) is a hugely great tip. It helps so much! I get backed up without it!

Exercise is THE best! If you lose a lot of weight without it, you will look literally DEFLATED when you reach your goal. Untoned, and saggy. Batwings, saggy thighs. I KNOW first hand. Especially when you are a little older or lose a LOT. As much as I complain, I know this works. And....It's never too late to start.

I would add to the list: A Vitamin and Calcium suppliment. I take prenatals and a separate Calcium.

so cute!!! :goodvibes

The picture of your arms in the air with your friend exorcising you, is really great! NO BAT WINGS!!!!! You really are my idol!!!

3 more till your goal???? YAYYYYY! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I have cottage cheese I plan on getting sucked out when I get to goal! I grab a hold of my thigh and pull up and say, "THAT's what I want to look like!" :rotfl2:

I want one of these skirts!!! However, I'd look even BIGGER in it!!! :scared1: Not a good look for me, but DD looks great in it! How fun!!!

I also decided I'm gonna make matching jammie pants for my family for Christmas. What pattern did you use? I know I can do this!!! :thumbsup2 I am currently starting a quilt for my grandson. I have friends that convinced me to do it. Now that the wedding is over, I can get to it!

Here are a few more pics from the wedding. I realized I didn't have one yet of my DH, but I can't find one. I'll work on that. Here is my DD, Alison, Andrew and Theo.

D.O- Beauty-ful!!! Your DD just glows! I love her face while dancing! :cutie:

Ok. I've drank nearly a gallon so far. I am trying! For lunch, it'll be a big plate of veggies (no butter or cheese!) and some chicken breast. And more Crystal Lite. Slosh slosh slosh!

I'm working on a 4-animal print outfit for Norah for Animal Kingdom. So far, it will be precious! I can easily coordinate all the rest of us with beiges and kakhis, and the like. Easy! I am drawing a blank on an MGM outfit!

Plus, has anyone heard if Rockin Rollercoaster will be down while we're there? OH NOOOOO! That's our favorite!

I don't understand exactly why this is either, but it MIGHT have something to do with carbonation. Not that carbonation itself would make you gain weight, but I don't think it helps your digestive system too much. (At least not mine sometimes.) Part of the reason I was able to give up soda (during the week - i still drink it on weekends along with my water, but not as much as I used to) was that I was having that heartburn issue, and I discovered that it helped my heartburn and other digestive problems when I stopped drinking the soda. I don't know the answer either, and I've been wondering. But I bit the bullet and gave up the soda. Just not completely. ;)

Hello~
I decided to log on to the computer so that maybe it would take my mind away from eating LOL. I've been trying really hard the last couple days because i think the reality sunk in that I'm going to be in WDW in less then a month. Yikes!!! So nothing but baked chicken, veggies & water/crystal light for me. And exercise...lots of it. I've still got this saggy baby belly from being pregnant (too much info...sorry) and I hate it...there is no way I'm going to be in a bathing suit.

Good luck at the Dr. Hope everything goes well. I never had Braxton Hicks but I kept waiting for them to happen because all of my friends were having terrible ones towards the end of their preg.

I just want to post every hour- "Nine O'Clock and alllllllls well!"

I need the accountablity! I can justify anything...which is why I'm a yo-yo, i s'pose!

I made banana bread yesterday that smelled soooo good! I did taste it (to make sure it wasn't poison ;) ) and it was NOT a good diet choice. Very sweet and moist.

Is it me, or can Angelina Jolie use a good sandwich?

Angelina can use a lot more then just a sandwich...she has gotten soooo thin.

Also, now I'm having a craving for banana bread...thanks a lot :)

i asked the same question at first. i used to drink nothing but diet coke and the occasional sweet tea. the sweet tea was obviously bad, but i didn't understand the diet coke. but i took people's advice and stuck with water and it worked!!! now i crave water.....if i don't get enough my body knows it and i'm SO THIRSTY!!!

The picture of your arms in the air with your friend exorcising you, is really great! NO BAT WINGS!!!!! You really are my idol!!!

i tend to carry most of my excess weight in my butt and thighs, so my arms have never been a problem. i do have to admit though that around christmas time i was starting to get where i didn't want to wear sleeveless shirts because they were kinda flabby. i used to be a server through college and i owe toned arms to constantly carrying heavy trays when i was younger. now they're not so much toned....just not flabby (yet....hopefully never!). i usually push myself pretty hard on my bicep exercises until i have a "frog in my arm" and those tricep pushups are ruthless, but they work!

Here are a few more pics from the wedding.

love the pics! both your daughters are gorgeous and that little one......too cute!!!!!

Plus, has anyone heard if Rockin Rollercoaster will be down while we're there? OH NOOOOO! That's our favorite!

yep, i heard that. was very disappointed. the only good thing about it is it's one less thing we MUST get done that day! but i'm still disappointed because my friend erin's never been and i know she'd love it.

I read something recently that stated your body is not being fooled by the artificial sweetner and it will make you feel hungry or crave sweets to get the sugar fix. I've read in the past that people who drink diet soda have a harder time losing weight and in some cases, weigh more than people who drink regular sodas. The catch 22 sucks.

DSis's b-day today. We celebrated last night with chocolate cake......... I really tried to be good. Hopefully it wonn't show too badly on the scale tomorrow.
