We rented a huge, yet rundown house, for cheaper then a complex. You're right about the in-house apts. being small. Look at renting a whole house. The one we had even had a fenced in yard.

Sorry about your gma's dog. My dog was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and only lived a few months. She was 6. Very hard. I also didn't do chemo b/c it would have only prolonged her life 6 months and I would have had to drive quite far to do it...and she got very stressed in the car. Hugs for your gma, and you too!
I would love to be able to afford to rent a house. 1BR apartments around here run about $800-1400 so renting a house would be well out of our price range. Right now our goal is to keep it under $1000 a month. thanks for the suggested and the hugs for my grandma! ;)

Whoa what a day...I'm just now getting around to checking email and checking on my peeps. I didn't get a chance to go back and read all the new stuff but I did want to update you all on my mom.

She went to the orthopedic MD today who said that she may need surgery to have a pin put in and he recommended her to a hand specialist. She has an appt tomorrow morning so I'm going to go with her. She never remembers anything on a normal basis so when you are anxious about medical stuff, she really won't remember anything the Dr says. Please send pixie dust that she doesn't need surgery and that they don't have to hurt her too much (i.e. setting it or something). Thanks Peeps!
:wizard: A little magic for your mom...

Ooops... I missed a whole page before...

 poor doggie. i'm sad for your grandma. lots of pixie dust coming their way....pixiedust:
Thanks to you too!

:goodvibes those are great! Your daughter is beatiful ....all of you look so happy ! :)
I second that... great pictures!

ThinkTink Good luck in rental hunting - think outside the box for a rental - they have to be out there? We found a rental thru a Realtor's office! There's a place for you! Dont give up!!
I'm keeping my chin up!

LOL... 3 in a row...
anyways I finally figured out that you guys were all talking about the Lovely Bones movie a few pages back with Peter Jackson, Ryan Gosling, and Rachel Wiez... I don't know if I mentioned this before but I read a book that really got me the same way this summer called Cage of Stars....
(Here's the Amazon book info: A young Mormon girl finds herself torn between retribution and forgiveness in The Deep End of the Ocean author Mitchard's latest. Twelve-year-old Veronica "Ronnie" Swan witnesses the murder of her two sisters in her family's yard in tiny Cedar City, Utah. Murderer Scott Early is immediately apprehended, but is diagnosed with schizophrenia and ends up spending just three years in a state mental hospital. The rest of Ronnie's family turns to their faith to forgive Early, visiting him just before his release after a battery of drugs have restored him to normalcy. But Ronnie remains angry and haunted by her inability to save her sisters from him, and as she comes of age she tracks Early to San Diego, becomes an EMT, talks his wife into hiring her as a nanny for their infant daughter, and starts planning her vengeance. But as Early's life comes into focus, Ronnie's plan leads to an unexpected, if overly summative, climax. Ronnie progresses from a stock girl-next-door type to a young woman with considerable emotional depth, and Mitchard understatedly portrays her attempts to navigate romance and other interactions as a Mormon raised very "of the Church." The results are sweet and solid. (May 1)

You both are radiant! Especially when standing in a sunbeam! LOL...
What a special day!!! What a handsome SIL you have!

Ohhh, ThinkTink- I'm gonna get Cage of Stars! Looks exciting.

DisneyObsession--the pics are beautiful. Your daughter looks radiant.

Hope that everyone is doing well. Wiped out already and still have until 5:15 to go. DD started comp. swimming and we practice everday until 5:00 so I will not be home until after 5 and then on to homeowork and such--tonight I am going to a Pampered Chef party--I love those, but only wish I had some extra cash flow to buy what I wanted.--Oh well--maybe I will do a party in the next month or 2.

Have a good day.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers, thoughts & pixie dust. You are all so great :grouphug:

Disneyobsession-the pics of your daughter are GORGEOUS!!

ThinkTink-I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma's dog. I hope that she is doing ok.

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

Thank-you ladies for all your nice comments on my daughter! It was a beautiful day and an absolutely wonderful wedding! :thumbsup2 It was definitely not traditional at all, as it was a Jewish ceremony, at a Presbyterian church with a renaissance theme! There was a Rabbi conducting the ceremony, with a cantor chanting through much of it. They were married under a chuppah (huppah) and it was at 7pm, so it was sort of dusk. Unfortunately we had to go down steep steps and the Mother of the Groom and I almost fell! I slid on the wooden part of the step and I think she tripped. (Luckily, neither one of us actually fell! :upsidedow ) Other than that, everything went very well.

Unfortuantely, I don't have any pics of the tables with the ceterpieces! How did I miss that? I hope someone at the wedding took a picture of it.

I am now getting back to the grind of work. I would much rather be on vacation...however, I gained 3lbs this week, so i need to get that off before Fri WI!!! :yay: Lots of water, exercise and eating healthy food will help that! :thumbsup2

Punkin How are the fire ants? Hope they dont bother you again!! Nasty buggers!

it's better now....just a hard little red bump on my foot. it's very strange that i reacted that way though...i never break out!

LOL... 3 in a row...

sounds like a good book. i may pick it up after i finish the one i'm reading now. i'm reading "in her shoes" right now. i saw the movie a little while back and LOVED it, so i thought i'd read the book. usually i do the opposite -- book then the movie (if there is one). but for some reason i never took any interest in the book until i saw the movie.

hope everyone had a good day. i'm SOOOOOO tired. not sure why. i hope i'm not coming down with something!!! i have too much to deal with in the next few weeks. my dad/brother/brother's girlfriend are coming up on sunday and we're going to six flags, then i'm taking him to an incubus concert for his birthday on tuesday. then my mom/grandparents are coming up labor day weekend. then ray and i are going to savannah the weekend of september 7th. then i've got disney the weekend of the 21st........i'm gonna be exhausted!!!!!! but it'll be fun! we'll see how the dieting goes during all this running around.....:rolleyes1

Where is everyone??

I'm on vacation!! I really sh ould go home tomorrow... its our 26th anniversary!!

I'm trying to talk my mom into hosting a bridal shower next summer for ds and fdil - she doesnt want to, no one will come!! Maybe I should post it on the internet!! :rotfl: I'm sure the kids will come and we'll set up tents for them to sleep over!! I've got a chocolate fountain!! :cool1:

Ok, trying to catch up here...

Wonders, hows the situation with A. been the last month?

Thanks for asking! (Like I need someone to ask before I talk about him  ) Anyway, things are good I guess. We've been talking a lot on the phone about school and non-school related things this past week. He's initiated the calling himself about 85% of the time too which is promising. We talk, we flirt. I'm hoping to get a date out of him sometime soon. We sort of had an inside little joke and I left him something in his student mailbox last night after class and he called me to tell me how hilarious he thought it was. So we last spoke last night.

Bee~ Take all the time you need to take care of your bee-utiful self and those two lovely girls. Remember, if you need us and feel you can't post it on the open forum, we are just a PM away. You don't have to go through any of this with out your peeps!

Danielle~ I'm so sorry to hear you mom is so ill. Many  and prayers for your family during this difficult time. I hope your mom recovers and is able to regain at least some of her facilities.

Sorry to hog your comments, but I just wanted to remember to send loads of prayers and  to both of you. :flower3:

I got a job!!!!!! I got the call just over an hour ago!! I am so excited and happy! I was given the option of starting tomorrow but I had some plans for this week so I am going to start on Mon! I am so happy. I get a nice benefit package and more than 200 hrs of PTO every year. (It gets credited half at a time for the next 6 mos to use anyway I want but lose it if it's not used.) The pay isn't quite as much as I was making before but I can get insurance for my entire family for less than my personal policy at my last job! Oh happy day!:woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo:
I'd love to use the banana but......... well it just has a different meaning on the peeps thread.)

Congrats on the new job! :woohoo:

i went to the chiropractor today because the area between my neck and my shoulder (my trapezoid?) has been killing me and after he adjusted me he put these sticky things on that area and turned on this machine. it was the WIERDEST thing i've ever felt! like ants crawling on my back and i could feel my muscles moving involuntarily......so strange, but cool!!! i gotta put an ice pack on it tonight because he said it would be sore and then i'd feel better tomorrow.

I had something similar a long time ago when I broke my ankle. Was it some kind of electric therapy? I personally hated it and I made her put it on the lowest setting because it felt so annoying  .

I found out that my grandma's dog, Chip was cancer. He has about a year to live, he is a Scottish terrior and her best friend. I feel so bad for her. My grandpa (her husband) died almost two years ago of cancer. How terrible, right? I am going to Florida to see her and go to my cousin's wedding in January so I hope Chip is still around so I can say goodbye. Oh, what we do for our pups! :sad1:

 for your grandma and :wizard: for the pup.

Well an update on my mom and the finger. She doesn't need surgery, at least the Dr didn't think it was the best decision. Apparently, she broke her pinky as well. And her ring finger is broken in 2 places meaning that the middle bony part of her finger so sort of "floating". Nice huh? So he numbed her up and "tweaked" it a little to try to position in a more normal spot. She said she didn't feel a thing. So now she has this huge splint going from the middle of her forearm to above her fingers to she can't use her hand or fingers at all. But she is just so happy to not need surgery. Thanks for you prayers!

So even though yesterday was my first day as an intern, all my clients cancelled so I did nothing. But today I had 5 in a row, well actually 4 because one was a no show. Apparently that is common. It went well I think for my first day and not knowing any of the kids. I do have one kid that I already can't stand. I know that is horrible but the behavior issues are something I do not deal well with. He's 4, autistic, and its his way or no way. No focus or attention span and spent most of the session crawling under the table. And of course he is the only client I have that comes twice a week so I see him again tomorrow

Hope everyone is having a good day. :wizard: and  if you need them.

yes, it was some sort of electric therapy, but i have no idea what. when he asked me to come in that room and sat me down and started fiddling with the machine, all i asked was, "is this gonna hurt?" i'm such a wuss! anyway, i thought the feeling was kinda cool.......very strange though! i guess everybody's different in how their body reacts to things. kinda like how some people like mission space orange and some people like mission space green......i'm an orange girl myself. but i know most people hate it.

okay......see how i relate everything back to something disney-related? it's a sickness. ;)

I always relate things back to disney. One day my prof said something I thought was kinda funny and it reminded me of a disney movie so I turned to my friend, laughed and said "Like in Toy Story". And she looked at me like I had 3 heads. :rolleyes1 She just laughed and rolled her eyes.

This is SO weird! I'm back on the wagon after not only falling off but wandering off into the woods (scarry!) so I've been trying to eat healthy today. Wheat toast, egg beaters, chicken fajitas, HEALTHY. I took my vitamins and calcium and I swear, I have ooodles of energy! ALMOST enough to get on the tread mill. OH OK, stop yelling! I'll be walking during tv tonight.

Where's Winkers??? Anyone see her lately? I meeeess her! She is a cutie bug! :cutie:

PUNKie
- I can totally relate to turning everything into disney-related! OY!

Wonders
- Well? Did you slip in EPCOT into any conversations? Who in their right mind would say no to Food And Wine (we call it Food & Whine). PLEASE tell me he said he's like to go. If not, can I have his number? I'll fix everything!!!! popcorn:: (LOL!!!! I'd SO scare him away!)

Just stopping in to say hi. Hugs and prayers to all that need them...I didnt multi quote :upsidedow

I love the colors of the flowers! You all look gorgeous!!

Started with some new kids this week at my 'daycare' and my sister helping me full time. She is homeschooling the 4 yrs olds (there are 2 plus mine) and I get the baby which is by far the easier part of the deal. But I am so tired. She drops them off at about 7:30, which is very early for us around here. (DD would sleep until at least 9 if I let her and always has, sometimes 10! So I am admittedly spoiled) I will get used to it I am sure...just in time for us to leave for a week to Disney:cool1:

:rotfl2: I haven't asked him yet actually. To be honest, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed myself this week with my new internship and classes...so going away for a weekend isn't sounding like the best idea right now. Ironic huh? His birthday is in October (on a saturday) so maybe I can try to do something kinda special for that? Who knows what we'll be up to at that point though. Right now I'm content with how things are going. He's obviously interested enough to be calling me all the time but getting him to go on dates is like pulling teeth. I know that should be a sign that he's NOT interested but that is definitely not the vibe I get while we are chatting on the phone. :confused3

Shannon-Are you still thinking of coming to the Peep Dinner since you live so close?? I know you mentioned it WAY back!!

Still not sure. I have thought about it...is it a Satuday? What is the date exactly? My decision would probably be semi-last minute so I don't know if you guys could squeeze me onto the ADR anyway.

Hmmm, but maybe I could use that as an excuse to bring the boy up. He could go have dinner with his aunt and I could meet the Peeps. (cue maniacal laughing  )

It's Sunday the 23rd at 5 but we are meeting around 4 for a picture I think. A lot of people have canceled since Aries made the ADR so I am sure there is room for you!!! :thumbsup2
