DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Happy Monday.

Well I got the nerve to step on the scale to see the damage. What's left after having the baby and all, I have to lose about 20 pounds to get where I left off. It was nice to see a 25 pound loss from right before I delivered though. Does that make me a BIG LOSER?:rotfl:

Anyways, after giving much thanks in Church yesterday I sent all I could to all my peeps.

I'm just concentrating on eating wholesome meals with little snacking. If I have to have a snack trust me its healthy. I am nursing so I have a little one to think about.

Nursing with this one is very different. My milk came in slowly. Not outta nowwhere like with my last three. I never got engorged and I never leak. I am not complaining, it's just different.

We seem to be giving lots of supplements too. She can be showing all the signs of rooting less than an hour after nursing, so I am not sure if I am satisfying her completely. My breasts used to tell me when it was time to nurse, now it's the baby. I can't pump yet to increase my supply cause I'm just too dang sore.

Just looking for some suggestions or reassurances. If anyone has had experience here, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Have an awesome week everyone!

I really reccommend Vitamin E capsules - for YOUR nipples - take a needle or safety pin, and poke a hole and rub it on your nipple - my pediatrician recommended this to me - never had sore nipples - you apply after you nurse...

As far as supply goes, the peditrician also had me drink a beer!! While nursing! IT helps with the milk supply - or so he said, he said one beer a day helps relax you and build up the milk!!!

he was really into holistic medicines!!

I'm at my parents and the internet connection is being a pita!!

They all let you take children no matter what the weight?

:lmao: this sounds like something i'd say!

i was gonna suggest looking at privately owned rental houses, but tara beat me to it. they usually aren't as strict with the dog thing. also, is your dog an obvious 45 pounds? if not, it's not like they're going to actually weigh him, so maybe you could get away with it, especially if it's a large apartment complex. i've lived in a few where there's a weigth limit yet i see people walking rottweilers so i knew either they weren't that strict or they just weren't paying close attention.

I got a job!!!!!!

CONGRATS!!!!! :thumbsup2

yes, you're a HUGE loser!!! i don't know much about this subject, but only having to lose 20 pounds after having a baby seems like a great thing to me! it'll be gone in no time!!!

Hi everyone,
I haven't been online much the past couple days. Two of our really good friends were in an airplane accident & died.

so sorry to hear this.

i went to the chiropractor today because the area between my neck and my shoulder (my trapezoid?) has been killing me and after he adjusted me he put these sticky things on that area and turned on this machine. it was the WIERDEST thing i've ever felt! like ants crawling on my back and i could feel my muscles moving involuntarily......so strange, but cool!!! i gotta put an ice pack on it tonight because he said it would be sore and then i'd feel better tomorrow.

speaking of ants, i just went outside barefoot to change out my hummingbird feeder and got bit by a fireant right on top of my big toe and now it's really red and itchy. it's never done that before. i hope i haven't developed an allergy or something!

I'm so sorry to hear this! I don't recall seeing this on the news...where did it happen??

Thank you. It happened in Alaska. Here is the link to the most recent story/update in the Juneau Empire

Becky posted about this on the other thread - 2 men and one son in Alaska - they made camp and the son stayed behind while the 2 men scouted for hunting (I hope I'm remembering correctly Becky) apparently there was a problem as the son waited 3 days for his dad and friend to return... they crashed... so sad!

Congrats MHL - so glad you got the job!! :thumbsup2

I drove to Angola IN -
Thanks for letting everyone know. You remembered correctly:hug:

Hi everyone,
I haven't been online much the past couple days. Two of our really good friends were in an airplane accident & died.

I weighed in this morning & have lost 3 pounds this past week. I guess that is the good news. I'm sure it is mostly related to the stress we've been going through the past few days.

Hope everyone else is having a great week. I think we have 31 days until we go on our trip. I'm super excited about that, can't believe how close it is. I received all of my information in the mail yesterday from Disney & got my luggage tags. It was kind of exciting because it made the trip seem so much more real.

I am sorry for your loss.

Hey, guys!! I have been without the internet for the last few days and had kind of a "bad" weekend. But I'm back on track today! Just made some Sugar-Free Jello Pudding to help my sweet tooth for the week. YUMM-O! Anyway, hope you're all doing well!

First of all, I read that link about the plane crash in Alaksa and my hearts go out to you... that is so sad. :grouphug:

We looked at about a dozen places so far....
All of the in house apartments were way too small in one aspect or another, low cielings, less than 500 square feet, no living room, we just haven't had luck with that...
We went to two gorgeouls but WAY out of our price range apartment communities that made me wonder if I would want to purchase a house or live in a place like that when we have the means...
And we are now working out our second possible option that is within our price range, in our general area, allows our dog and is nice...
The problem we had with the first choice was that they actually do wiegh the dogs, they make you do like a dog interview and ****. I have a good feeling about this second place though so we will see. I know it will work itself out. Its just so stressful that today it gave me my first migraine. :headache: <sigh>

I found out that my grandma's dog, Chip was cancer. He has about a year to live, he is a Scottish terrior and her best friend. I feel so bad for her. My grandpa (her husband) died almost two years ago of cancer. How terrible, right? I am going to Florida to see her and go to my cousin's wedding in January so I hope Chip is still around so I can say goodbye. Oh, what we do for our pups! :sad1:

Anyways, hope everyone has a good night and magical dreams.
I am off to watch the rest of the Closer and head to bed. :tink:

Thanks for posting the link. How sad for his son but I am glad fate stepped in and had him stay behind!

We rented a huge, yet rundown house, for cheaper then a complex. You're right about the in-house apts. being small. Look at renting a whole house. The one we had even had a fenced in yard.

Sorry about your gma's dog. My dog was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and only lived a few months. She was 6. Very hard. I also didn't do chemo b/c it would have only prolonged her life 6 months and I would have had to drive quite far to do it...and she got very stressed in the car. Hugs for your gma, and you too!

Hello, Peeps. It took a while, but I am caught up again.

It was nice to see so many people I hadn't seen for a while. Bee - Congrats on your weight loss . . . sorry it was under such difficult circumstances.

Looks like there have been lots of ups and downs lately. Hugs to dwheatl, Shannon's mom, Becky, and others who need encouragement :grouphug:

On a more positive note . . . CONGRATS, Mony, on your HUGE (baby-related weight) loss!!! The pics of Madelyn were adorable!

:dance3: Hooray, MHL on the new job!

I am counting down to Disney and meeting some Peeps, too!

:mickeyjum 33 days -- MOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to call in to Magical Express.

Whoa what a day...I'm just now getting around to checking email and checking on my peeps. I didn't get a chance to go back and read all the new stuff but I did want to update you all on my mom.

She went to the orthopedic MD today who said that she may need surgery to have a pin put in and he recommended her to a hand specialist. She has an appt tomorrow morning so I'm going to go with her. She never remembers anything on a normal basis so when you are anxious about medical stuff, she really won't remember anything the Dr says. Please send pixie dust that she doesn't need surgery and that they don't have to hurt her too much (i.e. setting it or something). Thanks Peeps!

Shannon, it is always good to have an extra set of ears in the room for consultations with specialists and note-taking. Especially when the patient is stressed, in pain, or up there in years.

I went to a good share of my mom's medical appointments with her 10+ years ago and was always happy to be there for moral support.

It can also help when you need to report back to other family members.

Yay! We just passed page 1234 Why I think numbers are cool, I dunno!

Monica, have you ever used those newborn diapers as a compress? pour a little bit of very warm water into it and just relax while it's on...for soothing soreness. Mother's Milk Tea will totally increase your supply. I know mamas who've drank it when adopting a baby to BF (needing a milk supply- while they pumped). Make sure you pull down her lower lip for a better latch on. I think every baby is so different. I had different issues with each, Norah being the lower lip. Used tea bags placed on your very sore nipples will help! Weird but I promise it helps. I used black tea and just brewed the tea (and dumped it). I'm so proud of you for nursing!!!

I still have my baby weight! UUUUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!

i have gone through a bit of a rough patch with dieting, but I NEED to re-commit! I feel so bloated and sore!

Thanks to everyone for prayers and hugs. They really help.
I got a job!!!!!! I got the call just over an hour ago!! I am so excited and happy! I was given the option of starting tomorrow but I had some plans for this week so I am going to start on Mon! I am so happy. I get a nice benefit package and more than 200 hrs of PTO every year. (It gets credited half at a time for the next 6 mos to use anyway I want but lose it if it's not used.) The pay isn't quite as much as I was making before but I can get insurance for my entire family for less than my personal policy at my last job! Oh happy day!:woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo:
I'd love to use the banana but......... well it just has a different meaning on the peeps thread.)

Congrats!

he was really into holistic medicines!!

When I saw nipples and then needles, I was like, "Oh! Ouch!" so I reread your post. :rotfl: Penelope Leach recommended a beer for nursing mothers to help with the milk supply. I was like a dairy cow with my 2 kids, so I never tried it. Plus, I feel :crazy2: about beer. I know it's super-important to stay hydrated when you are nursing. That's the only advice I have.

:grouphug: for you and your mom.

I managed to get in a half hour workout with Gilad (aka the hawaiian hunk) this morning. I laugh because the show is from the early 90's, and sure enough, the ladies are wearing leotards with belts. :rotfl: I'm trying to do the best I can on the eating, although I did have a piece of a friend's b-day cake today, and it was downright sinful. Let me just say it would have cured anyone suffering from a dementor's kiss.

GOOD MORNING FLY BY! :sunny:

I've overslept and the line has already formed for the computer.

Prayers going out to all who need them.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

DisneyObsession: The pictures from your daughter's wedding are just gorgeous. Love the wreath and the flowers are so beautiful. That look was perfect for her.

As if recovering from a c-section isn't already enough, I have come down with a cold of sorts. My nose won't stop running. Sneezing and coughing are unbearable. My father-in-law was over the other day and I was trying my best to supress the sneeze, and he just grabbed his chest, he can relate he had triple by pass a while back. When I opened my eyes I saw the sympathy (more like a cringe) look on his face and we all laughed.

I know all about soreness when nursing. I've nursed all my babies. In another week, I'll be ok there. I just want to know how to increase my milk supply without pumping. I can definitely drink a beer. Look forward to it.

What is mother's tea? I'm not a tea drinker. Although I did order iced tea while in the hospital a few times. Just had a taste for it. Weird huh?

Make it a great day!

Punkin How are the fire ants? Hope they dont bother you again!! Nasty buggers!

Mony Mother's Tea is an herbal tea blend - seeds and such... try a Natural food store/herbal place... I totally and completely reccommend LaLeche League - you dont have to go to meetings, you dont have to do anything - but they are a great resource, and often a phone call or a website email away - its always nice to have support and someone to listen to you!! I always had an unusaul situation I was glad to have an "expert" a call away!

Cheryl
Glad to 'see' you - cant wait for the 32 days to dwindle down to zero!!

D.O. Did you do her flowers? Cant wait to see the table pictures!! Congrats!!

Danielle :grouphug: and I had to laugh at the cake + Dementor's kiss - now we all have a good excuse to eat a bite of cake!! :rotfl:

ThinkTink Good luck in rental hunting - think outside the box for a rental - they have to be out there? We found a rental thru a Realtor's office! There's a place for you! Dont give up!!

DD and my mom are going clothes shopping - - without me!! Dad went golfing.. DH is home... oh and ds19 girlfriend and family made it home from Peru... I talked to her, they did get food poisoning, or really sick, so they werent able to do all the backpacking they planned... she loved the rainforest, she said they took over 500 pictures!! She loved the butterflies!! and they did feel the earthquake - at first she thought someone was trying really hard to wake her up!!

Becky more hugs and prayers for your friends family!
