Here's my whiney post. Last night, DD had to take me to the ER because I was in extreme pain with an ear infection. Let's hear it for kids with drivers' licenses. The doctor put me on amoxicillin and tylenol w/codeine. A couple of hours later the pain ratcheted up to a 10, then it sounded like the fireworks at WDW, then my eardrum ruptured. It was very nasty, but the pain level actually went down once the drum perforated. I tried to get up to go to work, but was so dizzy and nauseous, I had to have DH help me call for a sub and put me back to bed.
The upside to this: codeine and no appetite. I've had lemon ginger tea, 1/2 banana, a pb and homemade jam sandwich, and a 100 calorie pudding. Let's hope I get some permanent weight loss with my temporary hearing loss.

Nitey night, all. And yes, you all matter. I lift you up in my prayers everyday.

Hope that you have a speedy recovery. I have never had this happen, but i know all about the infections.

One of my favorite fuzzheads :cat: is named Frak. He and his brother Frik were abandoned where I used to work and I brought them home as foster pets but they cuddled up to Dh and he decided to make them part of the family.

Oh my Goodness. I hope I didn't offend you by uses your cat's name as a cuss word! :guilty: I love the names Frik and Frak. Too Cute. We have four "fur sharks" ourselves.

Just chilllin' this morning 'cause we are on two hour delay for our "wintery mix." Yeah school closings!!!!:cheer2:

Eeyore, thanks for your encouragement! We wuvs ya!!!

What size is the can of pumpkin that you add? I made a "dump" cake a few weeks ago and used the larger size can of pumpkin and it didn't seem like it turned out right ate a couple pieces, decided it was yucko, and threw the rest out). Also, just want to verify that you add no eggs, oil, etc., just the pumpkin for moisture.

:grouphug: :thumbsup2  pixiedust: :yay: As Grammy would say on the Open Mike thread, take what you need!

WOOOOO HOOOOOTY, Uma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Correct just the pumkin. No eggs or anyhthing. I dont have a can now but it is the pie size regular can. I have also made w/canned squash.

Happy Birthday Jo!!!:cool1: pixiedust: :bday: :cake: party:

Ok, the snow is melting away. :sad1: It is now raining outside. We didn't even get a delayed school opening. Oh well, it was pretty while it lasted.

Danielle, I didn't do a twirl, but I did try to catch snowflakes on my tongue. ;) It was 12:30 in the morning, none of my neighbors were up to see me acting like such a kid in my backyard. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Happy Birthday Jo! Have a great day.

I seemed to have hit the wrong quotes!! :cutie: MHL brought up the Yahoo group, I have decided it is not what I was imagining - the way they have the columns set up our bios are skinny, yes.. but long!! Recipes the same way, I had invisioned something completely simple, and easy to navigate... :confused3

I do think having the recipes on the first page (who is the first and 2nd poster - they can edit the posts to include the recipes?? or there is a sticky for recipes here on WISH forum)

Bios - what about using the Profiles/myspace type page here?

Myspace/Facebook, this is something I have to spend time on - I know my boys are on it, but Bless their hearts, they are still open, and I have access to those pages!! (I know surely there are pages I dont have acess too, and thats fine by me now they are 21 and 18!! :rotfl: )

Happy Birthday Jo!!!:cool1: pixiedust: :bday: :cake: party:

*ding, breakfast is ready, and I have to try and sneak the laptop in my suitcase!!

OH, and I love taking the first walk of a snowfall!! EVEN if its 2am!! :goodvibes

I keep losing track of what’s going on here, but here’s what I’ve caught (and remembered!):

HAPPY BDAY DISNEYJO!!! Best wishes for the next year from Across the Pond!

Woo Hooty UMama! 3000 posts and your TR’s still in progress… :rolleyes1 ;)

COFFEE: I was forever ruined by a trip to Paris last year. I now MUST start my day with about ¼ cup of milk (though I have conditioned myself to skim) heated to almost frothiness in the micro added to some seriously rich Gevalia French Roast coffee sprinkled with cinnamon before brewing, with just a dash of organic sugar. Heaven in a cup, I tell you.:cloud9:

DWHEATL: Been there and I know exactly what you mean about the pain of an ear infection. Hugging you from afar and hoping today’s a better day!

UMAMA & S’LATE: I was up 3 lbs. yesterday, too! But they’re all gone today. What the heck happened? :confused3 Did the Earth’s gravitational pull suddenly increase for a day?!:rotfl:

HOT LEMON WATER: I’ve been drinking this all day, most days for years – never knew it had health benefits! I just like the taste and it sooths my chronically scratchy throat.

5K PROGRESS
: So, I reset the timer, etc. on my TM after warming up last night to see just what I’m dealing with. A fast walk for me is 3.2mph, 3.4 is speed walking. All told, I only did .82 miles in 15 minutes. Clearly, I’ll have to run some of this thing to avoid the dreaded golf cart assist to the Finish. Here are my challenges: 1. Exercise-induced asthma. The most I’ve ever been able to run at once is 3 minutes, followed by 3-4 minutes of walking to catch my breath. That’s with using my inhaler. 2. Bad knees and ankle. Thanks to years of ballet, followed by soccer and skiing, I have virtually no cartilage left in my knees and a bum ankle that starts to hurt after 30 minutes of walking/running. Any suggestions and recommendations for how to condition for the race without further damage is welcome!

It's snowing!!! IT'S SNOWING! Yes, we get excited 'bout that round here!

Ouch! I am so sorry! Hope you feel better!

Danielle - You may be the only other one on here besides me, but I have to tell somebody.

It is snowing at my house!

Ok, I get excited over small things. I live in AL, and it doesn't snow here very often. They (the local weathermen) are always forecasting it, but it actually happened this time! It is just a dusting, but it is so pretty. It freaked the dogs out when I took them to go potty. It was really pretty on my all black dog, Shadow.

Nighty Nite!

Not fair! But I hope you enjoy it!

Good Morning. I guess tomorrow I will have to post before I get in the shower if I ever want to be the first to post in the moring. Lexmelinda what time do you get up. Next week I will be getting up at 4:30 b/c DH will be gone and I have to get everyone going and to there schools.

I am so glad today is Feb.--here teachers get paid tha last working day of the month and in December that was the 21st. SO I just got paid yesterday

Hope that everyone has a great day and sending :grouphug: to those that need it. Going to catch up from last night.

Ok, I know I'm a dork, but is a regular can the size of a soup can or is regular size the big cans? I have both ingredients and want to make a treat.

Sorry! I do this all the time and think I'm driving everyone nuts with my questions!

Happy Birthday JO!!

Good MOrning all, hope everyone is in good health and good Spirits!

Danielle - so sorry about your ear, glad you are having a bit of relief. Maybe some of Jos birthday cake will lift your spirits!

Eeyore- Im sorry life was just having its way here with eveyone in the house! Wne to Dr and am setting up same day procedure to be done.
DS hit a boy on the playground who was pushing around a girl. Dh does not handle his concerns so well so he gets cranky and irritable. OMG I have to fast for the hospital I am hoping that will help out a may lose an ounce!!:rotfl:

Utah- you are not alon on the gain this week! I am in the gain and assured myself to really enjoy a good loss week you have to know the struggle of a bad week! The success will only taste sweeter!!!:cutie:

Sorry if I missed anything....tried to go through all the pages but work is just getting in the way!!!! Crazy!

Happy Thursday all!!!

Thank you again to everyone for the hugs and prayers! I'm going up to the hospital in a little bit to be there when they start to wean her off of oxygen. We've decided as per her previous requests that she not be left on a ventilator. So they will slowly slack off and see how she does. My hope is that she lasts till friday evening when my sister gets here. She hasn't seen her in 10 years. I'm feeling ok today, I was able to spend some time alone with her yesterday and told her how I feel about her and all she's done for me. She would occasionally squeeze my hand, so I think she knew I was there, which made me feel better. I keep thinking maybe she'll pull thru this, we've almost lost her several times the past couple of years, but I just have this feeling that she won't. I'm happy for her because she has wanted to go for quite awhile. She's tired of being trapped in a body that doesn't work. I'm glad I've found you peeps! It helps to "talk" this out before I go and be strong!;) Oh, and yesterday I didn't do too bad. Whopper for lunch and then my uncle took us all out to a buffet, but I only had one plate and a piece of carrot cake. :rolleyes1

WInkers - I am so sorry for your struggle prayers to you and all your family:grouphug:

OOOH..i feel for you!!
I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago...HOLY PAIN BATMAN! I was literally writhing with pain on the couch, and my poor mom ( i was living with the parents back then) didnt' know what to do with me..it was awful.
BUT i am very happy to hear that the pain is going away for you~...:goodvibes

Yes, you are a dork! That's why we love ya!!!!

Lately it seems to me when it rains, it pours . . . My grandfather passed away yesterday and even though he had been sick, I don't think any of us were really prepared because the doctors couldn't really say if he had months or years.

I really don't want to fall off the diet wagon because I've been trying so hard and doing so well, but I know the next few weeks will be a challenge for me and my family. My dad has been laid off now for almost 6 months, and it was his father, and so my DH and I have been so supportive of him lately both emotionally and somewhat financially to help my mom get him through his unemployment and now this. My DH is going to Columbus on Sunday night for 3 weeks for his nursing home administrator's licensing, and my parents have been offering for me and our dogs to come stay with them while he's gone . . . So he basically things I should stay with them at least next week with all that they're going through because it seems like they really want me there. In addition to all of this, I went to the doctor Tuesday night because I've been having a cramp in my calf for the last couple of weeks, and the good news is that it isn't a blood clot, but somehow I seriously injured it so now I'm on like three different medications and not allowed to exercise for at least two weeks or so.

I just don't know where to turn, and I appreciate all of my peeps here for keeping me laughing and upbeat, and of course the support. I'm really gonna try to stick to my diet and perhaps even walk on the treadmill at my parents a bit just to keep active, but I appreciate any suggestions and words of wisdom from you guys to help me take it one day at time!!

Winkers: My prayers are with you and your family :grouphug: , be strong!!

Dwheatl: Get well soon! I had a perforated eardrum on a plane years ago, so I know how painful that can be . . . get plenty of rest and make sure your family takes good care of you!
