DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO!!!

I drink two big cups of decaf with Nestle's fat free sugar free cocoa every morning. It's what I need to keep big potty on schedule.:thumbsup2 I think decaf does not hinder weight loss, but what do I know?

I thought the same thing about decaf, but wanted to know others experiences. Thanks!!

Here's my whiney post. Last night, DD had to take me to the ER because I was in extreme pain with an ear infection. Let's hear it for kids with drivers' licenses. The doctor put me on amoxicillin and tylenol w/codeine. A couple of hours later the pain ratcheted up to a 10, then it sounded like the fireworks at WDW, then my eardrum ruptured. It was very nasty, but the pain level actually went down once the drum perforated. I tried to get up to go to work, but was so dizzy and nauseous, I had to have DH help me call for a sub and put me back to bed.
The upside to this: codeine and no appetite. I've had lemon ginger tea, 1/2 banana, a pb and homemade jam sandwich, and a 100 calorie pudding. Let's hope I get some permanent weight loss with my temporary hearing loss.

Nitey night, all. And yes, you all matter. I lift you up in my prayers everyday.

 Hope you are feeling better today. That just sounds awful!

Just chilllin' this morning 'cause we are on two hour delay for our "wintery mix." Yeah school closings!!!!:cheer2:

:rotfl2: Living in Buffalo, it always cracks me up when the southern states have delays for "a dusting" of snow! :lmao: We don't get a delay unless we have a foot at least!!! Lucky You!!! :rotfl:

Winkers...My prayers are with you today. I pray your grandmother is comfortable and peaceful.

DisneyObsession,

Yes, we love our rare snow days! We've had two in two weeks! I guess that makes up for 0 last year. It does seem strange to you northerners that we shut down for just a "dusting."

You said it, S'late! There are about 4 salt trucks and one snow plow in all of KY! ;)

:rotfl:

I actually noticed last night that some major roads had been pre-treated with some new salt/brime mixture, or something like that. But, in order for school busses to go out, every single road in the county that a bus will travel must be free from ice(they will let them on snow, but not ice).

Lately it seems to me when it rains, it pours . . . My grandfather passed away yesterday and even though he had been sick, I don't think any of us were really prepared because the doctors couldn't really say if he had months or years.

I really don't want to fall off the diet wagon because I've been trying so hard and doing so well, but I know the next few weeks will be a challenge for me and my family. My dad has been laid off now for almost 6 months, and it was his father, and so my DH and I have been so supportive of him lately both emotionally and somewhat financially to help my mom get him through his unemployment and now this. My DH is going to Columbus on Sunday night for 3 weeks for his nursing home administrator's licensing, and my parents have been offering for me and our dogs to come stay with them while he's gone . . . So he basically things I should stay with them at least next week with all that they're going through because it seems like they really want me there. In addition to all of this, I went to the doctor Tuesday night because I've been having a cramp in my calf for the last couple of weeks, and the good news is that it isn't a blood clot, but somehow I seriously injured it so now I'm on like three different medications and not allowed to exercise for at least two weeks or so.

I just don't know where to turn, and I appreciate all of my peeps here for keeping me laughing and upbeat, and of course the support. I'm really gonna try to stick to my diet and perhaps even walk on the treadmill at my parents a bit just to keep active, but I appreciate any suggestions and words of wisdom from you guys to help me take it one day at time!!

Winkers: My prayers are with you and your family :grouphug: , be strong!!

Dwheatl: Get well soon! I had a perforated eardrum on a plane years ago, so I know how painful that can be . . . get plenty of rest and make sure your family takes good care of you!

 Sorry that all this is going on. I think it is good that you are ging to stay with your parents. Seems like they could use the support. You are in my prayers.

Not fair! But I hope you enjoy it!

What time do you get up!!

Sorry! But a little is better than none I guess. No school delay! Not fair.

Okay, figured out today I have two things working againt me. Starting today and on steriods! No wonder I am fighting off a hundred cravings!

Ok, I know I'm a dork, but is a regular can the size of a soup can or is regular size the big cans? I have both ingredients and want to make a treat.

Sorry! I do this all the time and think I'm driving everyone nuts with my questions!

Stacey--On days that DH is home I am up no later than 5:30. When he is on the road which will be next week I have to get up no later than 4:30. On those days I have to get all kids up and ready (heck I do this when he is home), Joshua to daycare, and me and the older ones to school by 7:15. In order for this to happen I must have Joshua at school no later than 6:40. This is the time I start tutoring every morning.

UM--a regular can is a soup sized can--like a veggie can. What ya' making?

I need ideas for superbowl Sunday--I am going over to another families home and that coulple is on WW, but none of the other families are. HELP!! I want to take fun stuff, but also something that I know that I can have. I knew you guys could help me.

I have a funny--at least I think it is funny--Last night DD started Prednisone (sp) and cingular for asthma--the prednisone I usually give at morning, but we has to give it in the pm yesterday b/c we got it so late. Anyway I gave all meds at 5:00. We get home from church and she gets ready for bed. She put on jogging pants to sleep in and a t shirt. Well this morning she gets up and says, "Mom, something strange happened last night." I am thinkging Oh, God please do not tell me you started. Well, thankfully that was not it. Anyway she continues, "Someone put my shirt in the toilet!:crazy2: and I went to bed with jogging pants on and now I have on jeans." :rotfl2: I told her baby, you walked around in your sleep. Now, where is that shirt!:rotfl2: I put it in my shower. Ok. The end. I tried not to laugh in front of her, but I did.

Salsa and celery.

Hey everybody! Thanks for the :grouphug: I am feeling much better today.I may even go all out and take a shower.:rotfl:
Danielle - so sorry about your ear, glad you are having a bit of relief. Maybe some of Jos birthday cake will lift your spirits!
Birthday cake for breakfast? Yum!

Whopper for lunch and then my uncle took us all out to a buffet, but I only had one plate and a piece of carrot cake. :rolleyes1
I feel for you so much. I know these are hard times. Can I just inject a little humor? I'm glad to see you're eating your veggies.

Sorry about your grandfather's passing, and all your other worries. I think staying with your parents would really be a blessing for them. Can you do some of the meal planning/cooking while you're there to help you stay on track? I know I have a hard time with emotional eating when I stay with my mom.

:grouphug: to everyone.

Hi Pigget...I have a few WW friendly ideas for you!
-Cream cheese pinwheels...FF/LF Cream cheese slathered on low cab/light tortillas then you smear some salsa on top of that, roll the torilla up and cut it into little "pinwheels" YUM!..you could even serve that with light sour cream!
-Morningstar makes YUMMY veggie " buffalo wings"..about 1 or .5 pts each!
- homeade bean dip with veggies ....use red kidney beans, blend them up with some lime juice, garlic, herbs of your choice and a teeny bit of Olive oil..makes a great low fat, HIGH FIBER dip...
hope that helps!

Christy - my deepest symapthies and prayers for you and you family. I am glad you will all be a part of this together.

This seems to be a rough week here for the Peeps and I am so glad to see so many of us foucsing on what we can do and what is realistic and not. There are things that derail us but not from our most important purpose. That is to be there for someone we love or care for. God's children are never alone!!!
I am so glad to see that no one is saying how others situations are dsitrating us from our goal and that is to be focused on our own achievements. I ahve not read that once!!!!!! WHat a great group of folks! I think that says soooo much as to the hearts of the Peeps!!!!

The kind words, the prayers and the reaching out to each other is such a great gift and shows a great capacity of love!!!! WHat a wonderful thing to think to come on here to plan for a vacation and get sooo much more than any vacation can ever give. THe ability to help one another get through a painful or crazy days with Dogs locking keys out! Someone feeling so tempted to give way to not sweet treat! Or to share in the delight in a birthday or an event that says glad you are here!

I am blessed!! I hope you all know how wonderful that fact is to me!

SO heres my thought for today, would I feed my child what I feed myself?? So, iof I answer that honestly than NO !! I would not let DS get up at 3am and start eatting!!!! SO I guess I will go in his room as he could sleep through a war and look at his drawings and see his wodnerful face thank God and go back to bed!

OK enough out of me!!!

Catchin' up here!

I was up 3lbs this morning too. I'm in serious need of some colon blow!

Even though i have lost 10 lbs, I still look very pregnant. I AM NOT. My abdomen is hard as a rock. I don't expect to see much with just 10 down, but it is discouraging.

I know what you mean! I was up a pound yesterday. I refuse to weigh myself today...If I'm still up I don't want to be discouraged and if i'm down I'll let it be a pleaseant surprise for tomorrow! My family has a tendancy to look pregnant! My mom was always thin, but has a "kangaroo pouch front. Iwas just telling NSalz, a few days ago, that no matter how much weight I lose I'll always have the pregnant look! Doesn't matter how much I exercise it will be there! the only option is liposuction and I an not doing that!:scared1: I just have to try to lose to get healthy and come to terms with the fact that the basic shape of my body is something I'm stuck with!
Winkers,

I'm thinking about you!

Me too. Hope you're holding up ok!:flower3: :grouphug:
Disney Jo and Eeyore: I say "Bum" too. In Utah, butt is a bad word. We're not allowed to cuss here. Butt, I still do sometimes (see? I feel naughty writing butt!).

We creatively make up new cuss words, especially on Sunday ;) .
"Fetch" is the biggie, but doesn't have the same impact as the real "F-Bomb" for some reason!

I gotta go catch up on All My Children! Dixie DIED yesterday!!!!! I was crying! I stole her song to her son, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine...." of course her son was born after my DS17 and is now about 30 on the show! :rolleyes1

My mom always sang that to me when I was little and I sang it to my kids too!
Have you tried the warm water + lemon juice trick? I'm tellin y'all it works!! I'm also one that is tied to the scale, every mornin - and I'm pleased this week, I'm down 2#!! :yay:

23 years ago when I was in my early 20s I was a watiress at a local resort. I remember a woman who stayed at the resort for a week. At every meal she would ask for hot water with lemon to drink. I though she was in her 40s. She was so beautiful, with a very smooth complexion. Thurns out she was in her 70s!!!! She said that her grandmother taught her the hot water with lemon trick as a way of keeping your skin young. Thanks for reminding me of this! I'm drinking that right now!

Hi Everyone, thank you all so much for your lovely Birthday wishes, the boards were down here all morning so I've just caught up! I've had a lovely day DD's gave me loads of chocolate this morning (box of Lindt balls, bar of Lindt Choc and 4 Thorntons truffle bars, don't know if you have any of those in the States but they're all really yummy (2 truffle bars have gone already, not sure where. :confused3 ) :rotfl2: ) Well this morning I went and bought my laptop after finally deciding which one so I can finally Dis in peace and watch TV at the same time. :cool1: I then did the supermarket shop (very exciting!) and picked up my Birthday cake it's chocolate with lots of choc icing and flake pieces on the top (not starting it until tomorrow as DH works until 10pm tonight!) I then went to lunch with some friends and had Lasagne followed by Creme Brulee and a glass of wine! So I think today amounts to a weeks worth of calories. :rotfl2:

I'll check back later as I've got to take DD's to choir. Thanks again for my Birthday wishes (would you believe on the UK board I've got my own Birthday thread :) ) you can't believe how good they made me feel. :grouphug:

God Luck at the Doctor's tomorrow. Is it heartbeat time yet?

I just have to say I laughed when I forst read this because it sounds like the Pooh muffins led to you having to clean the bathrooms:lmao:

:rotfl2: :lmao: Yeah, it does sound a bit like that, but NOT what I meant. :rotfl:

5K PROGRESS[/B]: So, I reset the timer, etc. on my TM after warming up last night to see just what I’m dealing with. A fast walk for me is 3.2mph, 3.4 is speed walking. All told, I only did .82 miles in 15 minutes. Clearly, I’ll have to run some of this thing to avoid the dreaded golf cart assist to the Finish. Here are my challenges: 1. Exercise-induced asthma. The most I’ve ever been able to run at once is 3 minutes, followed by 3-4 minutes of walking to catch my breath. That’s with using my inhaler. 2. Bad knees and ankle. Thanks to years of ballet, followed by soccer and skiing, I have virtually no cartilage left in my knees and a bum ankle that starts to hurt after 30 minutes of walking/running. Any suggestions and recommendations for how to condition for the race without further damage is welcome!

I need to time myself too. I also have bad knees (popped a kneecap out of place back in high school during dance team practice, and it's never been the same) and a bad ankle (have sprained both - one twice, most recently on our last Disney trip)
