Out of Pocket or DDP for 2 credit meals

I am trying to figure out what to do about the dining plan. 5 people, 2 adults, 2 teens, 1 kid (3-9). so I know the kid will get the free dining but we are basically purchasing 4 adult dining plans. We have a 5 night stay and the dining plan is going to be $1900. The restaurants that we are currently planning on are Boathouse (2 credits), BOG (2 credits), Tusker House, Sci-Fi and Dine and Via Napoli. If I add up the out of pocket cost it's roughly $1100 for those restaurants if we choose not to do the dining plan. But with the first 2 days eating 4 of our 5 credits and then having to pay out of pocket, does the DDP make sense for us? Can someone who has used it more chime in? I know Via Napoli is not the best use, so we could maybe pay that one out of pocket? I'm just not sure what to do!

If you’re paying for the dining plan, I recommend trying to maximize value.
I’d be trying to book 1 credit buffets/all you care to enjoy meals /character meals.

So I’d skip any 2 credit restaurants and save them for another trip or pay out of pocket for them instead of using dining credits, if you really want them.

Also, SciFi is not a good value on the dining plan. Maybe just share a few meals and/or order milkshakes or dessert if you just want to experience it. Same with Via Napoli. We love it. But we just order a mezzo metro pizza to share.

If you are truly set on these restaurants, I’d maybe consider giving up the free dining for your child, since you’re forced to buy the ddp for four adults in order to get it.

If you use the refillable mugs a lot and the two adults are going to order alcohol with each meal, the ddp could still work out for you, but I think it will be hard.
