Hi we are going in August.

DH is unwell and not always good on his feet. Last time we went we were able to get a thing that let us not have to que for ages as he is not able to do that. What evidence do you need for that? I can not remember. Is it just the Blue badge???

Also how easy is it to hire a wheel chair if he is not too well??

This is a really special trip as he spent Christmas day in intensive care and only came home yesterday. Daughter is so excited. It is my birthday and wedding anniversary (24 years) so just want it to be perfect.

So glad to hear your DH is home, what a stressful time for you :grouphug:

From reading the boards the blue badge is accepted as proof of disability, I can't answer the wheelchair question but I'd be surprised if there isn't.

Sure somebody in the know will be along to advise x

That is very good news, so pleased for you and your family.

As tinkertaylor05 said, the blue badge is totally sufficient proof for the disabled priority card.

Wheelchairs are easy to rent in the park. The rental location is is to the side of the small shop in the covered area besides the toilets on the right-hand side of Town Square (ie opposite side to City Hall). Not entirely sure of the cost as we have Dream APs which gives us this service free but I think it is around €7 plus a deposit (can be by credit card). Our son is disabled and usually manages without a wheelchair but on occasions we have needed one at some point during the day and have had no trouble renting one when needed. They are fairly basic models so perhaps not recommended for all day every day use but as a backup very useful. Remember also that First Aid are very helpful.

Are you staying on-site? If so and you feel your DH cannot cope with the walk or bus ride to or from the hotel you can order a courtesy minibus from your hotel or City Hall. If you are staying off-site there is a disabled car park close to the entrance - ask for the code at the ticket booth. (Blue badge needed there too.)

I hope you have a magical holiday! :cheer2:
Have a wonderful

Hi

Thanks tinkertaylor05 and cherrymarzipan.

Thats great information that I needed.

Thanks cherrymarzipan I didn't know about the minibus thing. Hopefully he will not need it but want to make sure that we know everything that will make this trip unstressful. Very excited:banana:

The cost to rent a wheelchair is 7 Euros with a refundable 150 Euro deposit. I think there is a way that you can use one deposit over several days so there will not be a lot of charges and credits on your card.

They do not rent ECVs as they do in the US. I was there earlier this month with my ECV and will be writing a report.
