Hi,

We have never been to WDW over Thanksgiving or any holiday before and I need some advice on what the parks are like that week. Made a PS for Thanksgiving dinner in MK, but I know that park will be packed on Thanksgiving so not going to that park. Anyone have advice what park might be best to tour on the actual holiday..I was thinking maybe AK might be best or MGM and then hop over for dinner.

Thanks for any tips you can share .....

My first trip for Thanksgiving also. I would love to know what people think about this time of the year.

My family now always goes at Thanksgiving and we love it! Will arrive 11/21 after weekend in Savannah and depart 11/27. You're right, avoid MK on Thanksgiving day and also the parks will be more crowded from Thanksgiving day thru the next weekend. Our Thanksgiving PS is @Garden Grill @Epcot. We plan to go to MK earlier in the week---have CP character breakfast on 11/22 so we'll do MK that day. We most always have very nice weather and manageable crowds. Crowds used to bother me more before FastPass, but now I don't even mind. I love that the Christmas decorations are up by that week and don't miss the Osborne lights @MGM. I hope you both have a wonderful trip and aren't disappointed in any way.

The ABSOLUTE best time for us at DisneyWorld was at Thanksgiving 1996. We spent Sun to Sun and the crowds didn't arrive until Wed night. Thursday was packed but manageable.
Hope you have a great time.

We will be in DW for Thanksgiving (Nov 19-28th). The beginning of the week is nice, come wed - sun. it gets very crowded. Just try to do the things you want to do for sure in the beginning of the week.
We have gone to DW every other year at Thanksgiving for the last 14 yrs. We absolutely love this time of the year. The weather is beautiful. High 70's-80's and no rain to really speak of.
We have PS at Chef Mickeys for Thanksgiving for a group of 29. After dinner we will walk over to the MK for the Parade & fireworks. Also for the Country Bears x-mas show.
Make sure that you go to MGM for the Osborne Lights. Also the resorts are all decorated for x-mas usually by this time also.

Thanks for the tips...been in early December many times but never over Thanksgiving or any major holiday. Hope it is warm enough to wear shorts each day, I am a shorts kinda girl....:sunny:

We love WDW at Thanksgiving:wave:

Animal Kingdom or a water park Thanksgiving day ::yes:: ::yes::

Cape may cafe for dinner--walk into Epcot for Illuminations that night-------PERFECT!!!!!!
:smooth:

Enjoy!

Years ago it was great to go over Thanksgiving weekend, no crowds. I noticed about 5 years ago the word must have got out that the crowds were small, now NO WAY!!! It was sooo crowded at MGM that we could not turn around without bumping into someone. Just a warning! I want to try the week after next year.
