Using pools if not a guest

\
I was just watching a vlogger who lives in Orlando post two videos Called monorail hop and swim with us. In the videos they park at Disney Springs they went swimming at Grand Flo and Comtemp and Poly but it look like they wasn’t using the main pools maybe that’s how they got in. I am not too familiar with those pools because I never stayed there. At the end of the night they showed themselves catching bus back to Disney Springs and getting in their car which is how they ended the video. So I am not surprised at all reading this post about non guest using the pools. I would post the channel but I don’t know if that is appropriate here

If they have super low views or followers, doesn't really bother me as much. It's the big vloggers who actually get free things by Disney or others that annoy me personally.

I would think that’s an uncommon pool to crash. There’s no mass transit nearby, just bus and it’s not adjacent to a park.granted the bus drops you right at the main pool lol. It’s a very long walk from Disney Springs parking to that pool. Plus there’s a gatehouse so you need to have a golf res or a dining res to enter if not a guest. I do agree that both slide pools do get crowded though.

I'd guess it's easy to crash by car if you claim you want to visit the DVC sales office. Also an easy walk or bus from Disney Springs.

Overall, Disney has to get a handle on the non-guest pool use at ALL pools, but especially at the deluxes. DVC and/or cash prices are too high to make the over-crowding tolerable. The pools aren't really big enough for the number of actual guests at times, let alone guests from other WDW or off-site hotels or local birthday parties and family reunions.

Just watched something on IG where the hack is to park free at blizzard beach and then take the busses.

I emailed DVC about the pools being overcrowded and the potential that non-resort guests are using them. Post 46 above has the details on my email and DVC’s response.
this isn’t an issue unique to Disney but it’s an issue for lots of hotel pools. The big Marriott world center over by Disney also has a giant pool complex and only one section requires wristband but the vast majority of the pool complex doesn’t.

Saw woman on TT sharing their whole day at Disney Deluxe pool as a non-guest ... guess someone posted how ... her response was that .... since she is a DVC Owner she is permitted to use any pool, any time, even when not staying at Disney .....👀 I know nothing of DVC perks but this didn't seem right.

yeah...no. Outright lie. They know better.

Or are very delusional.

That was true - originally, as a DVC owner, you could use the pools whenever you wanted, even if not staying. But, as @GADisneyDad14 said, that "benefit" went away with covid, and maybe even before??? My BFF who lives in Orlando bought DVC and would go to the pools on her days off every now and then. It was never an issue. She doesn't do it now (and now they have their own pool).

No you can not use any pool when you are not a guest as DVC.

In the past you could use other pools, when staying as a DVC member on property, but that has since been suspended

I can almost guarantee that vlogger is "playing dumb".

Oh...they CHANGED that policy?! Since wheeennnn? WELL nobody told ME about that! Fine now I know!

(Reference: I do this at work with my boss sometimes...)
🤣

As far as DVC goes… Membership cards went from physical to electronic in 2022.

There are 2 tiers of membership:

Blue Card, which requires either grandfathered resale (purchased no later than 4/2016) or a the minimum amount of direct points necessary after that (currently 150 points).

White Card, which only requires buying any DVC contract.

It was only after 4/2016 that DVC differentiated access to perks like pool hopping, and they invented the system of White Card/Blue Card.

In 2017 the White Card looked like this:

When these cards went electronic only in 2022, the white card looked like this and still appears this way today:

If you look into each DVC resort, NONE of them allow pool hopping today.

DVC really needs to update.

It’s the last perk remaining on the white card but in reality does not exist.

I can see how it could give the impression pool hopping is an included perk.

Blue Card looks like this:
