Most incredibly wealthy and really smart people are jerks. Their adversarial nature makes them incredibly good negotiators.

Show me a self made billionaire, and I will show you someone that normally is one step ahead of you in every negotiation or dispute.

Yep. Without fail, though, they're incredibly far-sighted in knowing what will sell, and in knowing how to provide it.

What a jerk Ike was!

Yeah, for those of us who have followed Marvel Comics for a while, that was well known. He was a tyrant and he has completely ruined the comics arm of things. Kevin was right to want to get away from him, lest he ruin the MCU too. I have been hoping a new boss for the comics side of things would come along and clean house!

I am not all doom and gloom like the majority (and I hate that I am fanning the flames) BUT there is definitely a long history of poor succession culture and planning at Disney.

Succession planning is hard and ignored in small family business'. Can't imagine the politicking that happens within major corporations.

Umm have you watched any of what Marvel has put out lately in the MCU? Not exactly hitting on all cylinders.

Well, the Disney+ stuff has been underwhelming, but it's not even close to how bad the comics are.
What’s really sad is that “underwhelming” is now the best case scenario for us fans of any arm of Disney. Marvel. Star Wars. The Parks. Feature films. Almost every aspect of Disney is underwhelming at best and straight up terrible at its worst. I’m telling you the ground swell has long since started and I think even the staunchest Disney supporters are finally starting to realize they can’t support this absolute mess. We’re all watching our beloved Disney swirling the proverbial drain. Enough already. Fire em all!

There are some holdout pixie dusters on this site that will still praise almost everything Disney does. There is just way fewer than there used to be, people are finally waking up.

When some YouTuber is reporting negative Disney news, it’s pretty easy to dismiss it. However, it gets a little more hard to dismiss when the Wall Street Journal is reporting similar info now.

Perlmutter appears to be very hard to get along with. However, he seemed to know what the consumer wanted most of the time, and that’s pretty darn important in entertainment.

Did he? How about all of those Marvel TV shows that weren't popular? Inhumans? Cloak & Dagger? Honestly, I think most of them were fine, but they certanly didn't click with audiences. Even the venerable Agents of SHIELD was pretty niche. Also, what has happened to the comics is atrocious.

How about Iron Man, Thor, Spider Man, Hulk, Black Widow, and Captain America?

Wasn’t he at the helm when the MCU was making bank on those characters?

He was removed from the studios side of things before any of the MCU Spider-Man films were created. He was removed from the studio side in 2015.

Last film he battled with Feige over was the first Dr. Strange. He was also the biggest roadblock to the first Black Panther movie getting off the ground.

First Black Panther was a solid movie, the second one was not very good imho.

Feige is losing tons of his luster with the crap he is making now. Over budget and under perform is the norm right now. Eternals anyone……..anyone?

He didn't want them to make Captain Marvel, either. Didn't think women or black people could lead a movie.

He did not. He and Kevin clashed all the time, and while those Phase 1 movies did get made under his watch, it's telling who all of the leads are.
