Good morning Fogies.

We headed into town last night to enjoy Moomba festivities and some fireworks. I need to unpack those pictures and see how they went. I don't know if they worked the way I hoped. But I guess we'll have to see when I see them on the bigger screen.

I'll have to see if it messes with me. Since I don't have a day job, I don't have to be up at a certain time. Although the solar people are coming Monday at 9AM to start putting the panels on our roof.

What is Moomba festivities?

Best anyone can work out, it means Let's Just Get Together and Have Fun in Aboriginal language. It's always held on Labour Day Weekend and it used to be that the Labour Day public holiday was known as Moomba holiday. But the powers that be decided that we needed a much more dignified reason for a public holiday and we got Labour Day instead. The weekend now commemorates the signing of the agreement where workers were entitled to work 8 hours, play for 8 hours and sleep for 8 hours. But really....it's all about Moomba. It's spread out along the banks of the Yarra River and we have carnival rides, water skiing, fireworks and a parade.
