DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

Hey y'all...

I wanted to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. 'Preciate it!

I know I've been AWOL for a while but I guess everyone understands why;

The holidays are extremely tough sometimes under these circumstances, but I am very grateful that my son is home to share them with us and I'm also thankful for all of our wonderful DIS friends!

Anyhoo, thanks for thinking of the Beanster. Beanzie. The Beano dude. King Crouton. Dad 'O Bob & Johnnie. Hubby 'O RJ.

(You know - that guy with a camera and a beer.)

:santa: Happy Holidays everyone.

Oh look, Johnny Depp! ----> pirate:

Mornin' peeps!

Missed ya Mr. Beano - glad you are enjoying your weekend with Bob!

Need to get my rear in gear... Have some errands to run...DS has swimming this afternoon...OH and he has another project for school - on Egypt this time...pyramids...hierogliphics (sp)...I don't know...something else he has put off working on until the last minute!:headache:

Well, it's official...Santa is bringing skis to our house this year... We also looked at Dick's Sporting Goods before going back to Ski Chalet...found nothing at Dick's close enough to the deal I'd found at the ski shop... So we get to Ski Chalet and the 30% off tags were down off the walls! I was like HOLY CRAP! I told the guy that I was there the day before and the name of the guy who helped me - and I said he'd told me this pair of womens and this pair of mens would be 30% off the price marked (or $209 / $210) thru the weekend. So the guy said they took the signs down 'cuz they were misleading - that the $299 price marked WAS the sale price 'cuz the orig. suggested retail prices were more like $495 or something...and I was like BUT HE TOLD ME $209 - and I said I would talk to my husband & come back... So he talked to the manager up front & came back & said OK - they'd honor the price! So at that point we decided we'd better jump on the deal 'cuz they wouldn't hold it any more and we were lucky they'd honor it.:rolleyes1 So then we had DS fitted for skis & boots...his stuff was more since he didn't have boots already - but with their 50% off trade-in deal for kids the NEXT time it was a better deal than trying to go to Dick's for his stuff. He said the kids usually get 2 years out of the skis and 1 year out of the boots...so next year we'll hopefully only be looking at like $50-60 for him. We had our boots waiting in the truck already so we just brought them in to be fitted to the bindings / skis when DS wasn't looking. I don't know how much we fooled him by not walking out of there WITH anything.:confused3 Actually, we got our poles & I took them out while DH distracted DS...but he ain't a stoopid kid so I dunno...:confused3 If we can use the stuff for 3 days in January on our trip & then sneak in another day trip in Feb. we'll get 1/2 our money back on the rental prices tho. Then finish recovering the cost next year...

Alright...time for more leftovers...

HELLO out there! Crickets are still chirping!! (insert smiling cricket here)!:goodvibes

DS has swimming this morning and I am waiting on MIL to call - DH went to his Redskins game (in the pouring down rain) and DS and I will have to go get MIL at the airport later. Since it is raining both here and in Atlanta I am guessing by noon or so there will be delays. I told her we could come AFTER swimming - so if she would happen to be on time she will have to wait for us to get up I-95. We get there when we get there right?

Hey gang, just checking in. What a crazy weekend. My house is fully decorated, tree and all, and a good chunk of my shopping is done. We went to our town's common tree lighting last night and then out to dinner. I was supposed to go out with the girls but I sort of bailed on that. Im zonked! Between all this running around, trying to get packing, all the regular work and laundry etc...I just havent stopped. But at least I feel something is accomplished. Still lots more to do though.

Now Im watching the game and just waiting for Mom to deliver her turkey soup for dinner. Yum!

Hope you all are enjoying your long weekend.

:headache: JUST now got home! MIL's flight from Kansas City to Atlanta got delayed so she missed her flight to Baltimore. Couldn't get on the next flight...finally made it onto the NEXT flight...DS had finished swimming by then & we were waiting at a McDonald's near his pool to hear from her AGAIN. Once she confirmed she was getting on that flight I called my neighbor to see it online to see if she could be sure if it took off & what the arrival time was. No point to go home - that's just backtracking. She said the flight left at 1:50 & was sched. to arr. at 3:30. So at 2:00 DS & I left McDonald's to go to Baltimore. While on the beltway, near Silver Spring MIL calls me! Still on the runway in Atlanta she says! :rolleyes1 I guess that take-off time my neighbor saw was what time they left the gate so they could hurry up & sit.:sad2: Alright. Well, we were almost to I-95 so we went ahead to the airport & sat there in a parking lot for 1 1/2 hrs waiting. She finally landed around 4:00 & we got her dropped off at her house around 5:00...so we got home at 5:30. It's miserably rainy, foggy & cold out there. DH owes me doncha think?!:rotfl:

Meanwhile, today was the poor woman's birthday & she didn't even get a chance to EAT! I brought her some granola bars in the car!

Oh Annie, what a disaster! I don't know why they bother with the online info. During our nightmare at MCO in July at about 8:30PM my sister was telling me our flight was showing as departed and yet we were still sitting in the terminal being told 9:00....and 10:30....then we were going as soon as we got new boarding passes...then it was cancelled at about 11:00. :headache: So yeah, I wouldnt say those are accurate. ;)

Glad you are home though.

...and so begins Christmas pictures ;)

Hey all. Back in the world. 3 weeks til Christmas eh? Just can't get excited about that. Sorry.

Near as I can tell means 3 weeks until I am homeless.:sad1:

But we shan't speak of that now.

Going to Home Depot to get some things. Gotta keep my Dad busy while he is here dontcha know.:thumbsup2

RJ - late day fog schedule there?? I hates the fog.

OK just wanted to check in and say howdy. Gots a few things to organize today.

Hey Beano - What chu get for yur berfday!??

Oh Gert! Please keep us posted! You gotta get these people to let you stay in your house into the new year!! Surely they can understand you have 2 DD's to think about!?

I am also in denial about this 3 week thing. I think my family has decided to just play the generic present game maybe. If not that then just drawing names between my parents, my DB & his GF and us. Not sure yet. We're not so many people to try to play the game. But none of us can afford to be buying for everyone this year so it's gonna be one or the other. Santa has already done his shopping at the ski shop with plastic...I gotta put the brakes on that crap now...He is on restriction!:rotfl: Gotta figure out DH's side of the family next...

Thanks Annie. But since we have yet to be actually home on Christmas so once Ryan is out of school on the 20th - we are supposed to go to my Moms for Christmas - even year = Gerts family dontcha know.

So we weren't planning on being here anyways. So I figure if I can schedule my life, squeeze in a birthday party, Christmas program, get the movers here and sort stuff out by "storage" and "not storage", get packed, get the storage stuff delivered to storage, sign off on that, spend that (the 20th) weekend at the ranch for the McDougald Family gift exchange, kiss DH and take the girls and head off to my Moms, all should be good right??

Then DD can return from Christmas break and go to her new school. Wherever that may be. OK add find new school for DD to that list.

:scared1: Where is my wine!!

I am feeling very tired all of the sudden!:lmao:

Forget the WINE - you need some Captain Morgan!!:rolleyes1 :drinking1

A bit of the captain might be nice. But the Zaca Mesa Chard is good too!:thumbsup2

Today I did.....um...laundry:lmao: Really busting into that list.:lmao:

OK I did talk to the realtor in Fresno, the realtors assistant here and the relo contract coordinator. So that's something. :rotfl2:

Hey Phyllis - I saw some TV station or another is doing a Lionheart special. That's your clan yes??

OK maybe going to do some "Cyber Monday" shopping. BTW is that something new? I don't think I have heard of this so called "Cyber Reason to go shopping" Day??:confused3

Morning peeps!:wave2:

Finished off the remaining leftovers last nite...'cept for a little bit of turkey...going to the store today for a bag of frozen veggies...will try to make a pot pie with what's left for tonite. Gettin' a bit tired of this bird but must not waste anything these days! Since I cannot get an answer about the Unemployment extension (yeh or neh) I suspect we will be doing a LOT of scrambled egg sandwiches, PB&J and Ramen Noodles in the near future...so I had best not complain about leftover turkey that takes a week to eat 'eh?!:rotfl: I think I am going to go to Target and stock up on TP, paper towels & cat litter too - that should help keep me outta there if I get a 3 mo. supply on everything! (Costco didn't carry my brands!:) )

22 days until Christmas Eve......Is your shopping done? :lmao:

Hey..Tracy, CA makes the news!!

Nice parents keeping their 17yo prisoner??

I just passed that street where the news vans are camped out. Apparently a foster child runaway who may have been taken in by the wrong family??

I suspect there is more to this story....

Just bought my Christmas wrap!! Gonna wrap my presents and pack 'em.:rotfl: That seems wrong somehow.:confused3

OK gonna go watch the news and see whats up with that story!
