Annie - I also have 2 cats, 1 dog and a yard rabbit - might get a leetle bid crowded at your house! I'll pass on the inauguration. Too many people. So Say hi to SueEllen for me!

I don't even know what kind of Christmas shopping I still have to do. Guess I gotta get one more thing for my niece in VA and then ship that package. Decided most of my "big" presents will be bought online and shipped to either my Moms where we will be for Christmas or Stymies Mom where we will be for New Years. That way I don't have to wrap and pack the gifts. Kinda brilliant I thought. But I do have some gifts here so gotta do those up real pretty.

Already gots me my first gift in the mail. Came addressed to "McDougald Family" but I claimed it for my own!! It's the only Christmas decoration I am unpacking and putting up in the house this year! That kinds sucks huh? But cannot deal with unpacking, decorating, then packing it back up. Seems silly.

Sorry, I meant we could get tickets for Oprah, not the inaguration!! She is moving her show here for the week or something. Anyway, nevermind...SueEllen - looks like it's just you & me for some goat sometime!

It is turning COLD here today. It is a 3 layer day (thermal underwear, 2 layers of fleece)! Trying to decide if I should go out shopping a little today. Need something for MIL...and step-BIL...then of course there's the newleweds in Kansas. They are a problem since I don't really KNOW her...and he's going back to Iraq in January...and we just sent them a check for their wedding gift...oh, and I only have a PO Box for them so I don't even know WHERE they live exactly (read: I don't know what's CLOSE for them if we were to send them a gift card or something). My parents still have not decided between the generic gift exchange game thing or drawing names. Either way I need 1 gift from each of us. I am tempted to just go to Kohl's and see what I can find today with their extra 15% off sale today. Just go generic maybe.

Had a busy day today..after work, I got my hair cut then ran to the mall to see what I could find while I had a few hours alone

Got something for me!! hahaha..Rick's boss, the fire chief is getting married on Dec 27th. All my cocktail dresses are way too big, so I went to look for a dress. I found an awesome red dress that was very christmasy, but didn't think it was a practical purchase..went for black.
I was so excited! It has a taffeta skirt and a foofy liner to make it full!

I did marathon shopping today and I am just ALMOST done! Kohl's baby! My family finally decided to draw names so I only had to buy 3 gifts to take to WV. Found something for BIL & new SIL...and 2 things for MIL...and something for DH's step bro - I still need a little something else tho for him but not much. DH is done...DS is done... I have a couple other little tiny things to pick up & VOILA! This cutting back thing is working for me!

Jingle bells, jingle bells. Just about finished my Christmas shopping. Tonight I wrapped gifts and watched the Top 25 Christmas Stories. I have to shop early because everything has to be mailed except Rick, Betsy, Katy and Nick's gifts. Now I have to get to UPS and get them off-that is next week. I have my cards addressed, but I also have to go to the PO for stamps.
We are making progress on my kitchen. The permit package came yesterday so I had to go carry a blue print of the building and my individual apartment then sign so the contractor can submit them. I can't wait to see it finished

Mornin' ya'll!! We got frost on the 'ole pumpkin here this morning! (LOW 20's). Tryin' to decide how much decorating to do outside. Thinkin' not so much this year. Scouts sell their trees NEXT weekend so that is our game plan for next Sat. Hoping it won't be WET out...don't like bringin' in a WET tree! Must go on Sat 'cuz Redskins play on Sun. & DH will be attached to his TIVO!

HEY - just heard there was an earthquake in CA last nite! Everybody OK? Anybody feel it? Did it shake u up?!

Good job on the shopping, Annie & Anne. DH ws running to the bank, so I threw in "Oh and can you get stamps...and get a gas gift card...and run to Target..." LOL! He will be back in hours, but at least things are being accomplished. I'm here working and trying to pick out clothes to pack. UGH! Up until 2 days ago it was showing 80s for my whole tirp, but then it jumped to 60s! So now everything I thought has changed. ARGH!

But that is the least of my stress issues. Looks like a big storm here Wednesday, mostly rain and wind but if that goes late, our plane wont fly in and we wont have a flight come Thursday morning. Plus its going to get cold Thursday so all that rain will freeze up, and my mind is just running wild. I am seriously scared to death about having another nightmare at the airport. I really do not want to fly any more. That July fiasco really traumatized me. Seeing how they did nothing to help us, and let other later flights to the same place go while we sat there, was really eye opening. The only thing keeping me sane is its 5 days away still and things will change...probably to a freakin blizzard though!


But anyway, Anne we definitely want to see pictures once everything is done. Do before and after shots.

Oh Katie - we are supposed to get this wintery storm on Wed. too...and yes, SO FAR they're predicting it s/b a "mostly rain event". I sure hope for your sake that's all it is!! Pack LAYERS! Hopefully the forecast will improve for at least PART of your trip!

DH is doing homework for his calc. class. Today is supposed to be MUCH warmer (eventually supposed to hit 40) than tomorrow (only 20's) so I want him to help with the outside decorating today...but when he is in his homework zone he is SO-O grumpy! I have not been outside yet this morning but I saw 3 neighbors out there talking / walking their dogs & they all had hats & hoods so I know it's cold. I must time my "wanna help me decorate" approach carefully!

Thanks, Annie. Honestly at this point I dont care if the weather stinks in FL, I just want to go! Jellyrolls meet going on Thursday night. I can't miss that! I'm already scoping out other flights that we could try to get on if ours is canceled. I found that knowing (by having a lap top at the AP) is the only thing that saved us. We were the lucky ones who got on a flight 24 hours later (but that was even delayed). Some people...the ones not at the front of the line or who didnt get through on the phone, were stuck until Tuesday(2 days later). Can you tell Im so stressing about this? Freakin Jet Blue better not screw us again (you would think the flight is canceled already, LOL).

Well,on a happier note, off to Cams BBall game...DH's coaching debut.

Betsy has the before shots she made Thanksgiving of us in the kitchen but she couldn't keep her eyes open when the flash went off so she probably won't show them to you. The kitchen isn't too bad except the man I bought the apt. from did it himself with boxed up cabinets he bought individually at Home Depot. He didn't know how to put "fillers" at the end of the cabinets to finish them off and that just drives me crazy when I go into the kitchen Basically he just put boards the same wood as the cabinets over the gaps. Also he did not put in a dishwasher because he never used the kitchen. He lived here two years and when I bought the apt. the appliances had never been used. That is another problem--he bought "scratch and dent" refrig. and microwave. I am pretty picky about my appliances looking good so this also drives me crazy every time I open the refrig. and see the 4 dents across the top. There are also formica counter tops and I am having Corian put in. It is a total make over and I may pull my hair out before it is over, but I think it will be worth it. I have had a couple of people tell me it looks OK but I keep telling them it is a typical man who doesn't use it kitchen and I want an Anne kitchen. Oh well, I bought the location, location, location--on the beach--not the kitchen.
