I tried to get a little Xmas shopping done today...wandered around TJ Maxx for awhile...tried to look for MIL but found nothing. I picked up a couple of bargains for DH but not sure I will keep them. An UnderArmour fleece (bright red with Maryland Terps on it, which is unnecessary but which is why it was cheap and at TJ Maxx). I was specifically looking for a fleece pullover for him w/o a hood for our ski trip but might do just as well looking for a Columbia one or something at Dick's. So I don't know that I will keep this one. We'll see if I can beat the price. I also found a Nike version of the UnderArmour Cold Gear kind of thermal shirt. He also had lost one of his leather gloves last week. EVERY year I buy that man a nice pair of leather gloves and EVERY year he loses one like he's 5 yrs old or something. So I found a good deal on a pr. of Docker's gloves there for him too. That is probably all he is getting unless I find a pr. of thermal long underwear pants on sale somewhere too. Only warm clothes this year! Must be practical!!

I went to the pet store and stocked up on bird seed and 60 Lbs of cat litter to hold me for awhile then hit Target and blew a small wad there. The other game that DS wants was on sale so I got that done. Decided I should stock up on a few other things while I still had some money left. Vitamins, lotions & soaps, more Tide & spray & wash, 8 pack of papertowels...18 rolls of TP etc. My hope is that between what I spent at Costco week before last and this stocking up "excursion" it will keep me from randomly shopping there on any given day. I think I am officially a hoarder now!

Hi everyone. Just flying by to say "hello" and to announce that IT CANNOT POSSIBLY BE 3 WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!!! I have the kids stuff done but nothing else. I gotta stop wasting the days waiting for the plumber, air/heat guy, nagging children until homework is finished, etc. Do these people not know I have presents to buy, wrap and send??? Cheeze Wiz!

Man this new 7:15 bus schedule is brutal.

They are extending drinking hours in the bars in DC to 5:00 am for the inaguration...guess they think there will be some drinking to be done!

I feel like you, Phyllis...just so much to do! With the trip coming up everything else is on the back burner. I'm trying to figure out when to have Cams bday party, but we dont have the BBall schedules yet so I cant plan around that yet. Shopping is going to be a last minute thing I think. Cam , if you read this youre get nothing.

Did I tell you guys Cam went back on our threads after he met everyone to read them...and he saw what I said I was doing at midnight last Christmas and...and told Colt.

But anyway, so far for the trip I have a couple shirts ironed, my toes are done, and I'm going to get my hair straightened tonight. Oh and most of the toiletries are packed. Its so hard figuring out clothes since weather can be so extreme in Dec. So far it looks great though.

Ummm...Katie...what were you doing at midnight last Xmas? Were you waiting for your kids to be in bed so Santa could come?!

Well, I finally decided to get my rear in gear and order my Xmas cards today. I was torn about whether or not to do them at all...but Shutterfly had this amazing deal thru today (I got 50% of them free) + there was a code for free shipping so I figured why not just do it. I will still pick up a box of generic cards to send to some people at DH's work that don't need our personal picture cards. Now to go thru my address list and weed thru it. Sigh. I have to re-type the whole document since it was on my old computer. THANK GOODNESS I had it printed out! WHEW! If I had to re-create all of my addresses from scratch I'd be in a real pickle!

Well, they announced this morning that my bank (affiliated with my old job and where my profit sharing is) is now being bought by Capital One Bank. It WAS in negotiations with CitiGroup which had me in a panic. I think Cap One is a better choice. I hope. Since that's where most of my retirement is invested. Grrr. What a mess.

Well, DH left his stoopid garage door up last night when he came in from his class. Everything seemed OK in our cars and nobody came in the house but OMG!! He is so-o absent minded. It was only a month ago he left his car unlocked in the driveway and someone went thru it. TWICE this week so far he has poured his coffee in his to go cup and has walked out & left it here. Me thinks he is in the beginning stages of alzheimers! I am going to Home Depot to look for a new motion sensor outdoor light to replace the one inbetween the gargage doors. Maybe if we have one of those it would deter someone from coming in? I don't know. But is it my responsibity now to go behind him & check the garage doors? Apparently, 'cuz I AM the mom here. Of course, I can go buy the light but getting him to INSTALL it will be another story!

Well, Annie, to quote myself I was "doing the Santa thing". Of course it wasn't THE Santa thing the kids thought, it was that other Santa thing, but, they don't want to buy that.

I guess the good side to my printer getting messed up is I have to take a break from work and can come Dis....for about 3 more minutes until Cam comes home.

So there we go. All settled! I gots a room for you (19" digital tv on antenna but no satellite) & a room for the DD's both with queen beds... 2 ornery cats but no dog. I will even clean for ya!
