DIS Divas Trip! (old thread, see first post for link to new one)

Happy Sunday everyone!

The sun is actually shining here!! Hopefully we have seen the end of snow until next winter.

Does anyone know how I can get my hands on the disdivaland graphic? Is that the one on the purple shirts? I would love to make my own so i can be matchy matchy with the rest of the divas :)

Hope everyone has a great afternoon. I'm watching Snapped and laying around like a slug. I love Sundays!

Disdivaland was the pink tee. The purple one has the castle.

Ok, must chime in on everything.

I am down for a trip to Vegas and nearly naked men the night before the Diva trip next year, I'll have plenty of vacation time saved up by then. And we could all do the Lux bus to Anaheim the morning of. Sounds good to me. :thumbsup2

I love orange, and I'd rock that for sure. :smooth:

I'm also down for tie dye. :hippie:

Pub crawl? Yes please. I only had one adult beverage this trip, after talking for days about having a few days without kids and drinking heavily. I was so very disappointed with myself.

The time change killed me. I forgot to change my alarm clock last night and had a date with my sister and her trainer for "Body Pump" this morning. I woke up just in time to have my butt handed to me for an hour (sister set up my spot for me while I was on my way, right in front, and of course, right behind me was the only guy in the class). Lunges and squats are evil. I'm getting up at 3am tomorrow to leave for Ft. Lewis at 4 for a 4 day training. And of course, I'm not packed. Oh, and I got my finals done and passed at least one of my classes. I have a "reflection" paper to do for my other one before I find out how I did. Good night, Divas!

Doing some pub crawl research and have so far found that there are at least 16 places to get an adult beverage in DCA/DTD/Disney hotels.

Yep, 16. So, as I think further on this, I am thinking teams should have at least a beer drinker, and a wine drinker on them. I do not drink wine, but a brew goes down nicely.

I am also old and out of my drinking days by many many many years, so think 16 stops would prove to be a bit ambitious even if sharing the drinking responsibilty amongst a few team members.

My mind is racing with the fun of it all.

Orange. No reason, just want to keep the color on your collective minds.

I am a wine or mixed drink drinker, I can represent but not sure for how long and I surely can't drive after I've had a drink....nope, not even just one. LOL

Let's see if I can make this work! Here's a pic for the first page:

Hi!!! Welcome to the group, what a great photo!

Somebody already mentioned this, but I wanted to reiterate and hope Mel sees this: I got SO MANY wonderful comments on my DIVA shirts this year! Gals wanted to know where they could buy one, wanted info on the DIVAS, and more. They are great conversation starters and PR for the DIS and the DIVA trip. I wouldn't be surprised to see new DIVAS next year brought in by our shirts!

So huge props to Mel and Co. on our beautiful shirts, from design to bling! They are amazing every year!

Me too, and my sweatshirt, so many compliments!! I loved it and love the shirts!! I washed them on handwash and my pink one came out fine, unfortunately the blue one lost some glitter so if Mel wants to share where gets it and what colors she used I'll re-Diva my shirt. LOL

Well yeah, I am thinking it should be a "competition". Kind of thinking a photo scavy hunt, but finding silly things and taking your picture with them. Like, lady with a baby, metrosexual in color jeans, as well as pics of the bars and drinks to prove you were there. Ride on the DCA carousel, monorail, that kind of thing.

My daughter and I do a photo scavy hunt we make up each summer at the San Diego Zoo, so that is where I am getting the idea.

I am not much for actual prizes since I know that I do not need anymore "Stuff", but winners will get bragging rights.

Oh, and I am thinking capri should be on my team. Just sayin'.

Long day of work today. Tired.

Oh oh oh I wanna be on your team..... :thumbsup2 I never did get to drink with Capri, even though we had wine in the room. LOL That sounds like so much fun too!!!

Ok, must chime in on everything.

The time change killed me too, woke up this morning at 7:40, that's when Cassidy and I leave, needless to say we were both late today! lol
Teaching tonight but I don't think I'll stay very long...I'm really tired! lol

Gone for a few days an trying to catch up. Lets see how it goes.

Check it out. Disneyland Pub crawl, sweeping the nation.

Oh, looky there, another vote for ---you guessed it ORANGE!!

Genius. Taupe leggings, alternative to pants.

Okra is next on the pole. Could I have my lights in orange?

So, I am going to have trouble keeping up with the Pub Crawl sign up sheet..maybe we can be listed on the front page. Oh, I am all aquiver with the excitement of it all.

Or, maybe I should just assume all 9 million of the Divas will be partaking.

Disneyland Pub Crawl!! I'm down.

Pub Crawl is more popular than sliced bread around here.

Woo hoo.

I did mention to you, Lisa, did I not, orange is mandatory to play.

For.Reals. I.Kid.You.Not.:cool1:

Yay for Orange!!

You need me to it. Oh, but I don't drink. Hmm. I could be Pub Crawl photographer. No one will remember it the next day so we'll need pics to prove it actually happened. ;)
Sneaky sneaky. It'll be like the credits in the a hangover since no one will even remember what the heck happened.

I got it!!! The pub crawl should have orange shirts......we could make our own that says 1st annual diva pub crawl or 2014 pub crawl!
I'm totally in for the pub crawl!! I'll drink so that I don't care that I'm wearing orange!!!
I also would love the scoop neck t.....having made shirts this year I know v-necks don't work....but the scoop did.
Did we scare Mel away?? :(

Aww we should have shirts for the pub crawl. Or at least ones that mention it for a souvie for later.

It hasn't been, but we could call this year the first annual Diva trip kickoff the right way and go again next year. I'm sure we can talk Angie into it.......... She's cray-cray (and a whole lotta fun  )

That's right. We must not forget.

We could totally do Blue Bayou one day, and then SH55 another so they don't conflict. And, there's always a counter service offered for those who do not want to spend so much on a table service meal.
I'd like to try SH55, and I'd like to go back to Jazz Kitchen.

That would be so awesome if you and Megan came to Vegas! :cool1:

I was sad when my purple shirt kicked the can. Darn. Although it's probably for the best that I am not walking around with DIS Divas on my big booty. LOL

I love bling. It must be the Vegas side of me.

Thanks! :)

I already claimed pub crawl photographer, but we can both do it. Make sure no shot is missed. :teeth:

Good morning, ladies!! It's a beautiful sunny day here in the Las Vegas valley. I love Spring here. It's so nice out, but not hot yet. Perfect. Although by Friday we are supposed to be up to the 80's. It's getting up there.
Hope you are all having a good day so far and that the time change isn't throwing you off too much. It was so dark when I woke up this morning!

Hope everyone has a great afternoon. I'm watching Snapped and laying around like a slug. I love Sundays!
I agree January, lazy Sundays are the best. How is that precious baby of yours? Are you getting any sleep now? How's Maddie doing? Is she excited for the Easter bunny to come soon?

What a fun idea! I'm IN and I'll be rocking the orange! :drinking1
Heck yeah you will, Capri. Because orange is rockin'! :cool1:

I was shocked last night. My DH said he could actually go for a trip to WDW or DL right now after his traumatic experience! :goodvibes WOW! him actually saying he could go is a BIG thing -- he's usually not a big Disney trip person, unless its every 5 yrs or so....but he came out and said He could actually go for a trip there right about now.....I may take him Up on that in the near future! ;)
Go for it, Marie!! Since it was his idea and all. ;)
My husband is the same way when it comes to Disney trips. He enjoys Disney while he is there. We both grew up in SoCal and had annual passes for the longest time. We even had them for a bit when we first moved here. But, he really just did it for me. Now, he'd rather go see other places and do other things. My kids are older now too, and would rather do other things. I kind of agree with them. Nowadays, I look forward to the Diva trips more because of seeing my friends, rather than seeing Disneyland. :duck:

Hi, Heather! Whoo hoo! We'll see Chippendales before we go see Chip-n-Dale. :thumbsup2
Good luck on your 4 day training. Sounds brutal!!

You know it, Vanessa. Photographic proof. lol

Since AmyWhoAlsoLovesOrangeSue posted a orange drink recipe, I thought I'd share an orange food recipe. Actually, something like this might be nice for Easter weekend with family and friends.

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries

1/2 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup margarine, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup orange juice

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in orange zest, cranberries, and pecans. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together margarine, sugar, and egg until smooth. Stir in orange juice. Beat in flour mixture until just moistened. Pour into prepared pan.
3. Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until the bread springs back when lightly touched. Let stand 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool. Wrap in plastic when completely cool. :thumbsup2

I'm down for a team pub crawl. Sign me up!!

Not sure how I will survive a pub crawl, in truth. I am more of a 3/4 bottle of a beer, and I am done kind of gal...

But..making plans.

Well I could finish that 1/4 for you and drink whatever else is needed. As long as we are not talking about Maker's mark or jaggermiester. Where is the barf smilie when you need it?

I'm all in for a pub crawl. I don't drink beer, yuck, but add me for wine or mixed drinks.
Shirts, it's just one day, I can wear anything, well almost. I only prefer orange in October, and tye dye never. But I did wear it the one time.
I love my purple shirt, it's my favorite.
I quite possibly could see dead people if I have to much to drink.

I've never seen dead people from drinking, but I have seen the earth move, and have had some time travel experiences.

Sixteen drinking establishments? I'm up for the challenge!

Game on!

Well the pub crawl is out for me. It is against the law to drink and drive. So I will go to watch the results of 16 stops. That could be a whole new Diva trip.:laughing:

So is this your volunteering to be my designated driver?

Ooooh, we're going to have teams? Like a competition? I should point out that I drink beer, wine, and mixed drinks. And I can guzzle if needed. Just ask the M&G committee. :rolleyes1

Now why haven't we drank together more?

Well yeah, I am thinking it should be a "competition". Kind of thinking a photo scavy hunt, but finding silly things and taking your picture with them. Like, lady with a baby, metrosexual in color jeans, as well as pics of the bars and drinks to prove you were there. Ride on the DCA carousel, monorail, that kind of thing.

Long day of work today. Tired.

I am so in for this!

That would be so fun! One of Stacie's friends who came out here for her birthday was telling me how she and her friends did that on the Strip once. They had to find and take pics with all sorts of wacky things. Pretty easy to do on the Strip. LOL

But do they have pics of nuns in their habits at DLR?

An adult beverage coupled with CM stalking. Win win!!!! I am sure some of the origional trip DIVAS will recall the score!!!! of a certain Plaid's butt photos.

Memories of the good old days!

Oh, and daylight savings can suck it!

I am keep stopping by to see if Sesame Street has moved on to another colour. Nope today's letter is brought to you by the letter "O". O is for the colour Orange. :rolleyes1

Now I will be honest I do like the florescent orange look. However, most t shirt places do not sell that colour. I really do not want to look like a Halloween pumpkin.

My favorite colour not used yet are burgundy it would be a lot like the last t-shirt that seemed to look good on everyone.

So today I start the new letter. Sesame street is brought to you today by the letter "B" b is for burgundy. A royal colour fit for all princesses. :)

Hope everyone is having an awesome day! The time change is a killer, thank goodness there was no school today. I still woke up at the same time but didn't have to get my DD ready. We just relaxed and enjoyed the day.

I am so jealous of your weather! It hit 39 today LOL ... the sun is shining, I guess I should be grateful for that. I don't know if the California in me can handle living in this frozen tundra. I feel so bad for the poor college students from California, Arizona, and Nevada...I see lots of plates from those states. Poor little dears haha..its ridiculously cold here. Boise seems like the tropics compared to Eastern Idaho.

Maddie is great! She doesn't believe in the Easter Bunny anymore but she still expects the basket. Payson is great. He sleeps through the night and has almost since day 1. We got lucky. The only bad thing is having to wake up twice a night to do his breathing treatments for RSV. I can't wait until that's over with! Thanks for asking! :goodvibes
