The cast:
Me: Rachel, aged 28
My SO: Ger aged 26
My DS: Arran aged almost 4
This morning my phone alarm went off bright and early at 4am (I had been awake since 3!) I went and woke SO and tried not to wake DS (he had been put to bed in his clothes so I would stand some chance of keeping him asleep until the airport but of course as soon as I slipped into his room to put his shoes on he woke up and there wasnt a chance that he would go back asleep) We were being driven to the airport by SO's parents to cut parking costs so by 4.40am we were on the road for the half hour drive to the airport and our 7am flight.
After an uneventful flight the car from Isprestige was waiting for us. Unfortunately the journey took longer than expected due to heavy traffic because of a motorcycle crash. Eventually we got to the hotel- the Newport Bay Club and Arran literally ran straight into the arms of Pluto who had no queue waiting for him. We were able to check in straight away and our room was ready. So after a quick freshen up we were on the way to the parks before lunch!
At this stage hunger was hitting hard so when I saw The Rainforest cafe I knew we had to eat there. I cannot remember for the life of me what I had for lunch but I do remember the delicious chocolate cake for dessert. I was also really impressed with the customer service. They were really on the ball and attentive ie a baby at the next table dropped her soother and before her parents even realised the waitress had it whisked away to be washed. We were also impressed with the theming, especially the storm sequence.
By this time there was a real storm going on outside, it was so cold and wet but we soldiered on.
We got on the Orbitron ride first, then the Buzz Lightyear lazer blast. We took a look around the castle and even found the dragon! We managed to catch the Once Upon a Dream Parade and see Mickey and Co dancing in the Central Plaza. Sooner than we thought it was 7pm and park closing time. So back to the hotel we went, very very wet and tired. In fact both my men were in bed asleep by half eight so I went for a very enjoyable swim before turning in myself.
Now the pictures:
Upcoming "highlights":
Find out why we had one of "Paris's Bravest" visit our hotel room
Did the weather ever improve??
Exactly how many times would we have to go on the Lazer Blast??
