There is a saying, “rising tides lift all boats.”

SSR is being pulled up due to everything else going up, refurbished rooms, proximity to Disney Springs, and even at $180, direct with low MF’s is still a great entry point for DVC.

Resale of course is even better if you don’t put a lot of value on the blue card, and I see plenty of loaded contracts that will probably get offers this week.

They didn't raise SSR when they raised some of the others (last time).

SSR was $145 back in 2017 IIRC and the others have gone up way more. So, it was probably time.

Didn’t they just raise SSR direct prices earlier in 2021? If so this is kind of ridiculous.

They didn't raise SSR prices in 2021 yet when they raised the other ones. I'm sure they were waiting until the refurb got close to being complete to raise the price.

At some point, you’d think SSR has to start pulling ahead price wise from some of the other 2042 resorts simply due to the extra 12 years. To me, this increase makes sense. SSR is one of the few low price per point to purchase, low point chart, decent remaining balance of time left, and low dues option. That desirability has to come at a bit of a cost eventually, I’d think.

Spoke with my guide. They stated SSR is the only one that they are aware of that is increasing tomorrow.

I got the same story today. It will either come through during the waitlist at the lower price or it wasn't meant to be.

And our regular guide plus the person I spoke to on the phone are both going out on vacation for a week plus.

If you actually speak to your guide via phone - they can keep the existing price for a further 14 days.

I have done that - so it buys you a bit more time.

This applies whether you are on the waitlist or not.

I am August UY and want 200 points in total and now on the waitlist.......

Confirmed with my guide (he said I told him before he heard from DVC, but he is in Hawaii) and locked in 150 points at SSR! Hello blue card! We bought Aulani resale last year. Thanks for sharing and helping me to stop hesitating!

He did also mention that if you are still in your 2020 UY, you may not get points. He said there is a shortage, but I should be fine since I am in my 2021 UY. Just something to ask if trying to buy direct today!

This makes me worried about my SSR in ROFR right now . I already had one bought back. Since they have been buying back at $115 pp they needed to increase the profits.

Supply and demand. Its means that resale prices need to be high enough they wont be taken in ROFR.

But low enough it justifies buyers going resale. I think there is scope for SSR to increase in resale price. But of course there is always a ceiling when you might as well go direct.

My guide said small point requests have a decent chance of coming thru and locked the price for 14 days. I was surprised as they did NOT lock pricing when I was trying to buy BLT and the price increased.

I did. I am an April UY, so my guide said I should be ok. Crossing my fingers! It sounded like if you are still in your 2020 UY, they don't have anything.

My guide said they had small contracts available. I thought they could take two 50 point contracts and give you one 100 point contract?

Or am I wrong about that?
