Dining plan problem last week

Earl of Sandwich is not a Disney run restaurant. That may have been the reason the resort wasn't able to help.

It's not rocket science, a meal paid with DDP credits will show a zero balance. Sign a slip that shows a dollar amount and that's what your room will be charged. The system is down and you want your resort to retroactively pay your meal with credits. I'd expect you'd need a receipt.

Bicker--what kinds of issues did you have with room charges?

Sounds confusing to me. I like being able to charge to the room. I just checked my receipt after each DDP meal. (Mostly cause I had to write on the receipt to mark how much the meal was:thumbsup2 )

Yet another great tip learned I will not have room charge!!If the kids got into arcade I'd go bankrupt!!

I've done the dining plan twice before and never had a problem - I'm shocked to hear all of the problems people have been having recently!
In August I will definitely take everyone's advice here and keep my receipts, and have one card for the DDP and another with charging privleges! Thanks for the great infor

We did not sign any slips that showed a dollar amount, so we were definitely surprised that we were charged. Bottom line, we will now keep all of our receipts and hold on to them until check out.

You stayed at WLV. Did you stay on points? I wonder if the problem is limited to DVC guests.

Keep in mind how many people are using the plan every day. We usually only hear the negative here, rather than all the had no problems.

It is definately something to be aware of and to monitor while you are there. Better safe than sorry!:thumbsup2

I'm a DVC member doing the DDP for the first time my daughter is 19 months but she is in the 95 % for her height and 80 for her weight . I hope they don't charge us for her for the buffets. On the recipt are you able to see what you have used and what you have left?

Thanks Kelly

The Screen Door General Store charged items my wife and her cousin bought to the room instead of charging them as snack credits.

Do you have any sense that this was an issue limited to DVC guests? There was a computer issue that delayed offering MYW dining to DVC guests.

I must be the only person in thee world who actually read what she's signing:confused3
when you use the DDP, the receipt you get WILL state whether the DDP was used or not

for example:
At Ohana Table Service BF, they bring three seperate receipts:
the first states what we received (2 Adult Brkfst, KM Brkfst) and the prices

further down
it states:
MODIFIED

A second receipt (labeled store copy, BTW)
states:
2 Adult Brkfst
KM Brkfst

TS Meal Adult ...
entitlements used: 2

TS Meal Child ...
Entitlements used: 1

Change 0.00
....
8 AD TBLSVC CPN REMA

3 CH TBLSVC CPN REMA
(all on the same receipt, Ohana must have a more advanced system than other places)
anyway
the last receipt contains all of the same info, except, the prices for the meals, gratuity, and tax have all been chaned to "0.00"

Counter service receipts will say "QSR Plan" somewhere on them
with the number of CS credits remaining listed at the bottom

Snacks are weird, i've gotten two different kind of receipts
bottom line, literally:goodvibes check the bottom to see if it have a number of that type of credits remaining
if not, it probably wasn't charged to the dining plan

one last thing...Earl of Sandwich is SNEAKY they tried to charge us for a dessert because it "wasn't included"
I saw the $2.02 down at the bottom of the receipt before I signed it and simply changed desserts to a "covered" option

I think you all are making it more complex then it needs to be! Look at the receipt before you sign it, it'll state wehter or not you're being charged a dollar amount or DDP credits. The first time I did the DDP, I had the ability to charge things on my room key. Loved it that I only had one card to worry about, not my credit card also. The second time I didn't include charging capability on my card and regretted it every day!:headache: Just use common sense when signing your reciepts!

I always check my receipts, which is why I noticed after a dinner at the Cape May Buffet, that we only had to TS credits left instead of 6. I went to the front desk the next morning, and they realized right away that our meal at Narcoosee's had been posted twice, once on the receipt we were given, and again later that evening. We didn't notice until our next TS meal, but the front desk was very quick to fix the problem. That's the only issue we've had with charging, room cards, or credits.

At least one of the posters was charged (room charge) even though the receipt said zero.

So, one question, If you loose Or misplace your key card. Anyone who found your key card could eat up your meals. Right?

It will show how many children you have on the plan and you should only be charged for that many. If she is your only child she will not even be listed on the card as she is too young to be included on the DDP. I know they did not list the DGS we had with us last year who was under 3, only his brother who was 4.

I will say it's very important to keep your receipts. However, did your account show that you had credits left? It may be that someone else's bill was charged to your room by mistake. I worked in a hotel for many years and the wrong rooms are charged for things all the time. We used to have that problem often and we weren't taking in charges from 100's of outlets.

If the WLV has a charge on your account from any vendor THEY have to provide you with a receipt that shows you signed for the charge. I'd dispute it with my credit card company. They will request that the hotel provide proof that you charged the item and if they can't produce a signed receipt in the correct amount the credit card company will make them give you the money back.

Good luck.

None at all. After I came down from our room and got involved, the clerk admitted that he charged them incorrectly, and processed a return and refund, followed by the snack credits transaction. He perhaps charged it as a cash transaction because it was easier for him.

Thanks for the information. DH went round and round with the WLV and it kept coming back to us needing the receipt to prove that we did not charge versus them providing the receipt showing we did charge. He was told that since it was the earl of sandwich there was nothing they could do to help us unless we had a receipt. Our first thought was that we were charged by mistake instead of someone else. Our last name is very common. But again, WLV would not budge.
