Can anybody tell me -- do you get app, dinner and dessert at Teppanyaki with the DDP? We're DVC checking out April 2nd, but thinking it might be worth it for one blow-out meal on our last night. Trying to pick a restaurant. Other recommendations for restaurants where we'd get our money's worth and that a 14-year-old would love as well, we're happy to hear!

Thanks!

We did the Japan this past Wednesday on DDP, the food was great and our chef was very entertaining. Everyone in our party ordered combination plates and everyone including the 13 and 15 year old enjoyed the food. For appetizer we all ordered garden salad with ginger dressing, for main course we had 3 steak and chicken combos and one steak and shrimp, by the time the desert came about we wore pretty much full so we shared one order of ice cream and one order of ginger cake which had unique taste. I would defiantly recommend it on DDP as you can stretch your $$$ there, but otherwise there are lots of great restaurants off site that offer better food then this one. SO with DDP yes, without I would say skip as it tends to be pricy.

We used DP at Teppanyaki last month -- 3rd trip to WDW, first time at Teppanyaki. We (DH, DS 7 and I) all LOVED our meal there. We all started with miso soup, I had filet mignon, DH had scallops, DS had chicken (all the food was good but the filet was the best and next time Dh and DS say they'll get their own so they don't have to beg for mine). I had ginger icecream and DH had -- ice cream, some kind of tropical flavor that I'm drawing a blank on -- DS was full and couldn't do any more. It was one of our favorite meals and Teppanyaki has been elevated to our "always must do" list!

Thanks for the reviews! I'm definitely leaning toward this. Two specific questions: 1) Can we get sushi as an appetizer? 2) Are the lobster combos included on the plan and, if not, how much extra is the charge?

I'm very excited because my 14YO nephew is a hibachi and sushi nut and I'd basically told him no way (DH and I are taking him to Florida for Spring Training and this is supposed to be "on the cheap"), so this would be a great splurge -- an AWESOME surprise for him!

We ate at Teppanyaki for dinner on the DDP in October, and you aren't allowed sushi as an appetizer. They have also taken the lobster combinations completely off the menu - you can still pay for a lobster tail as an add-on, but it's not included in the dining plan.

We had the same experience as LiteBrite, but PLEASE don't let that deter you! It would be simple to add a sushi appetizer and just pay for it -- it's very reasonable, and you'll get such value using the DP that it's easy to do some "splurges" here and there and still get your $$s worth.
