My husband, daughters (7 year old and 2 year old) and my parents will be going on the Fantasy next April (next year). For some reason I have been given the job of planning everything. :) We will be on the Concierge level. I have noticed in reading the boards that people often have a preference in their dining rotation. Can you share the reason why you prefer certain restaurants when? My parents are interested in eating in Palo and Remy so I am trying to figure out what nights would be best for them to do that. I realize that I am planning this way to far out in advance but hey it is fun. Thanks for any assistance.

Lots of people care about which restaurant they are in for formal night. Lots of people care about their rotation so that they can skip their least favourite restaurant and/or menu. I'm in the camp that simply doesn't care. I book Palo and/or Remy when it works in my schedule, based on port excursions, spa, or other activities or when we can fit it in all together if we're cruising with friends. I hardly notice my surroundings since I'm usually enjoying my meal or chatting with tablemates, family or friends. I can usually find something I like to eat even if it's not my favourite menu. It doesn't matter to me which restaurant I'm in when I'm dressed up for formal or semi-formal night. I don't really feel like I need to match the restaurant. If you don't have a strong preference for any of those reasons, I wouldn't worry about it and just let DCL pick it for you.

It is an oft discussed topic. What are the rotations and how do you get certain ones. Maybe search forums to find the various rotations then try calling Disney to get a specific one. Since you are concierge it might work. Or you can try to change when you board. People have various reasons to care about which rotation they end up on. For instance, some people like formal night (usually 2nd night on 7-day cruise) to be in a specific restaurant. Or they don't want to book Palo/Remy on Pirate night. Or you don't want to miss a dinner at Animator's Palate because of those shows. Personally I just go with the flow. There is a whole lot of stress put on dinner rotations and a lot of times you can't do anything about it but just hope things fall your way.

I'm sure you can make a request to DCL, but they'll say there are no guarantees. We're also in the camp of "don't care." We were lucky and had Royal Court for formal night, but we would have been find anywhere. We plan Palo/Remy for pirate night. It's the same menu in ALL the restaurants, you know you're not missing any specific dinner/theme rotation, and can still dress like a pirate after if you'd like.

Perhaps it was just luck, but the one and only time we asked in advance for a certain rotation, we got it. However, it came at the expense of our preferred server.

We like the AER rotation on the Fantasy, because that (usually) means three nights in Animators. So you get the Crush show, the Pirates show and the Animation Magic show. Royal Court and Enchanted Garden are beautiful, but they offer nothing new for your second or third time dining there.

We usually do Palo and Remy brunch, so we've never pre-emptied a MDR for speciality dining. However, if I had to bump either EG or RC in favor of Remy, I think I'd bump RC. I dislike how cramped EG feels, but I really enjoy the room's transition into evening.

That's interesting AER got you AP 3x. We recently had ERA on the Fantasy and had RC 3x. That was totally fine, we're not huge Enchanted Garden fans so we only went there once as the 2nd night was Pirate Night and we did Palo. Our full rotation was ERAERRA.

Yeah, we had EG three times on our last cruise. The Pirate night in AP isn't really a "show" like Crush or Animation Magic, but the different concept artwork is pretty cool.
