Difficult time getting my 3 separate reservations merged

If i understand correctly you had to waitlist or something and have three separate reservations, and want to stay in the same room….

if I understand correctly, then that is a back of the house function that they do about 14 days prior to check in…

i have done it half a dozen times,
call the front desk to confirm That they can do it.

you technically still check in and out, and have to redo the keys but you dont need to leave the room…. IIRC

MS will merge sooner than that. It isn’t done by the resort.

My last one took about 8 days for my July trip.

MS has alway referred me to the front desk….

MS has always told me that they can note the account but the actual assignment of rooms is done in the back of house.

There is a difference between merging reservations and linking / noting as a continuous stay. Merging is most definitely done by DVC. We’ve had several done.

You must be talking then about two trips booked on different memberships and getting assigned the same room. MS can link and then note but those can not be merged into one.

Merging is when you have two reservations of the same room type at the same resort on one membership

I had two single nights booked in my RIV 1 bedroom for July that I got via stalking. They were both on my Dec UY. So I had MS merge into a single 2 night trip.

No I'm talking about when I have had to waitlist the middle days of a trip and that waitlist then become available.

I will have three separate reservation and MS has always referred me to the front desk.

First time I did it the told me "to just let the front desk know at check in". That didn't work out so well, and the front desk told me to let them know about two week prior, since that is when they assign the rooms.

MS has also always told me that they would "notate the reservation".

If you’re using points from the same membership just use chat. Provide both reservation numbers and use the word “combine” rather than merge. I have had difficulty when using the word “merge” for some reason. They think i want to note a continuing stay instead of combining the reservations under 1 confirmation number. I make sure to use “combine” now when making the request.

If these are all on the same membership, then MS can definitely take care of doing it ahead of time. Like I said, they just did it for my July trip. You can send an email, or chat (if you don't want to wait on hold) and they submit a request, then it is done in about a week's time...it used to be faster than that...like 24 to 48 hours...some even had it done on the phone..

No need to wait until check in or call the resort room assigner when they are all in the same membership. It is only when you have some nights on one and some on another that they can not merge it as one as they are located in different accounts.

And, I do this a lot and never had an issue with it set to go in plenty of time!

Nope, linking would be like noting a continuous stay so they would still show as separate reservations. Combine / Merge is taking 2 or more reservations and making them 1.
 
Plot twist…I had to add a day on the beginning of our stay which resulted in me breaking up my previous trip in to 2 nights. So now I have 2 one nights at AK to merge for our stay. Called today at 14 days out and was told that unless it was 7 days prior it goes into the batch ro be merged and should take no more than 3 days. 2 nights AK and 2 nights SSR but I’m waitlisting and stalking to try to get all nights at same resort.
 
It took almost a month to get my 3 consecutive studio stays at Hilton Head merged into one 7-day reservation. No email notification. I just happened to notice it on the DVC website.
 
Has anyone had any luck with expediting this process? I am on day 7 of waiting, and it is for a rental, which I think is making the renter uneasy. If it was for me, I really wouldn’t care, but want to wrap this up ASAP for the renter. Today is the 30 day mark, so I was hoping that may change things as someone previously mentioned it was put in a queue for reservations greater than 30 days out, but when I spoke to someone today, they just said it would done in time for the trip.

I would just send another request, this time via email, and see if that helps.
 
We’re just getting back from a reservations at Beach Club in the same room type. I let them know when I checked in and other than having to recode the magic band between reservations it was really smooth. Not sure if I linked them or not (don’t remember calling), but I did online Checkin for all three reservations.

I’ve also combined reservations on the same reservation, but it’s crazy it takes so long now. Last time I did this they did it on the phone.
