Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Hubby finally received his call from Mickey telling him about the April cruise we're all on. He was SUPER surprised!!! I ordered him lots of unique embroidered monogrammed Disney clothes to wear on board... his family had a laugh at all the "Captain Ron" items (he's a boat captain, and I'd love for him to wear his hat on the trip, but know he won't). He just loves the sea, but will be viewing it from a whole new perspective this time around. He was concerned about all the hustle and bustle but I informed him that, for the most part, we can do what we wish, and not partake in what we don't want, while onboard. I like reading the discussion boards to see little hints on what "laid back" kind of things we can do. Simply gazing at the ocean, eating without preparation, and escaping to the magic of Disney will be our mode. All the shore excursions everyone is talking about sounds like fun, but our little one will still be quite little at cruise-time, and we'll just have to see new parts of the world through a little kid's eyes. I'm enjoying the commoradery that everyone presents on these discussion boards. It's like we'll have an extended family once on board. This will be unlike any other vacation we've taken! Thanks to all for your contribution to the magic we feel being a part of this Disney Cruise!!!
Does anyone dress up for pirate night (meaning adults)? We have some KICKIN' Halloween outfits that could double up for the cruise!! Anyone know what night they tend to have it (at sea night, last night)? I think I'll be bringing more extras (FE, FE gifts, Disney themed door magnets, etc.) than my own clothes this trip!!

:lmao: :lmao: :sail: Now when I mean your DH I'll be thinkin' bout Captain Ron with the braid, the skimpy speedo and a glass eye w/patch. pirate:

At this time we (Danny and I) will only be wearing a Capt Jack T-shirts. If I can find something piraty and cheap I will dress up too. Danny will probably stick with the T-shirt. ;)

I'm not planning on dressing me up or any of our family just because I don't want to go through the hassle of packing extra items! I know, what a party pooper right??:rotfl:

However, I will be right there with my glass in hand celebrating along with everyone :yay:

ARR and it better be Rum...yummm!! :woohoo: :drinking1

Same here...I have looked at the 7nt MR and the PC EB & WB. So far there no clue except it seems to usually be toward the end of the cruise as is the Captain's Gala. Time will tell. :confused3

maybe something like this:
day1-let the magic begin
day2-prince and princess menu(formal nigth)
day3-rotational dinner
day4-rotational dinner
day5-rotational dinner´
day6-master chef menu
day7-pirates in the caribbean
day8-captains gala menu(semi-formal)
day9-flavours of mexican riviera
day10-till we meet again menu

That's funny...after going over the 7nt MR and the 2 PC navigators, I came to a simular dining schedule. I thought I was the only one trying to figure out what's what. :goodvibes

I read this from a poster on the main forum

"We are on the March MR cruise as well.

I spoke with CS and yes there is Pirate Party on the MR cruises.
Pirate Party is on Wednesday night ( Puerto Vallarta ).

Formal night is second night on ship.
Semi formal is Friday night ( Cabo)."

However I don't know if that would apply to us at all. I think we all decided that since we are scheduled to be in PV till 10pm, I doubt they would do Pirate Night that night. I think since our cruise is the only 10 night, we might just have to wait and see.

My kids dress up for Pirate night, and if I could find some cheap, decent costumes, my husband and I will too. Mainly for the fun photo ops. pirate:

Whew! Finally caught up on my reading of our thread. Work's been nightmarish but I finally made it over here. I hope everyone is doing well and I'm just wishing it was already April. I'm so ready for this trip...well, except for paying the balance off, lol! I timed this trip well, property taxes are due on 12/10 (Christmas, did I mention Christmas?) and property and income taxes due on 4/10 and 4/15. YIKES! Might be the frugal man's vacation...at least on Disney you feel like royalty no matter what you're doing! princess:

I was thinking that as well. If some folks aren't boarding until late, they would miss the fun. Also, doesn't the ship need to be out at sea for the fireworks?
And now would be a good time to look for Pirate costumes, as everyone is having costumes on sale for Halloween.pirate:

I don't think they would do it this night either. If I remember correctly they start the party at 8. I agree that we may have to wait and see.

If anyone finds pirate costumes please let me know! I really want dh and I to dress up with the kids since we never have in the past.

Did everyone notice - we made "under the 200" mark! I have been waiting for this. :yay:

I know!!! I told Danny last night we are half way there. We booked in Jan at 400+ days out and now we're under 200.:woohoo::woohoo: This has been the longest we've waited for any cruise and it's killing me. :upsidedow

I have been lurking but have not posted for awhile. Is there still a website for this cruise. I had it, but can't locate it today! Also, are there any other single parents on this cruise, and/or anyone who wants to share a meal or two at Palo? Thanks!!!

Hi everyone,
I ended up having to cancel this cruise. Hope you all have fun and your weather is glorious for all 10 days of the MR trip!

All the best!

Hi everyone!

This will be my family's first cruise ever and we are SO happy we chose Disney to have it on!! I'm 44, DH is 38, DS will be 6 and DD is turning 4 ON the cruise on the 25th. This is a great link to get familiar with everyone that is going to be on our specific cruise! I would be happy to hear any suggestions and recommendations from any of you! We are sooo looking forward to this trip and i know the time will FLY by until 4/17! We will be doing 2 days in Disney Land prior to the cruise. We are coming from Alaska, so why not since we have to be in LAX anyway! I look forward to getting to know some of you and hopefully meeting up on the cruise!!

Mary

Welcome Gabriela and Family! I added you guys to the FE list. So exciting that you guys are coming from so far away.I hope to be able to visit your beautiful country some day.

Yeah! Glad your husband is excited. Loved the movie Captain Ron, it was so funny.

Jennifer, I think we were trying to get a group together for a Palo brunch or dinner in their private room. I think Connie had mentioned it. I would be more than happy to arrange it.

Welcome Mary and family! Glad you found our board. My DD will be turning 8 on 4/19/11, a DS who will almost be 6 and my youngest DS will be a a few days away from 3 when our trip is over. Read over our thread when you have a while to get some ideas of excursions. This is what I *think* we are doing with our young kids. I am a compulsive planner, so I have been researching for almost a year.

We do the excursions on our own and not through the ship. They tend to be less expensive and the age restrictions are not as tight.

PV--I would like to do the CANOPY TOURS LOS VERANOS. However our youngest would not be able to do the zip lines. So either my DH or I would wait with him at the bottom. There is a restaurant, swimming hole, and monkeys there to keep them occupied.

Mazatlan--we are going to do a Stone Island beach day on our own

Manzanillo--planning on going to an all inclusive for the day. Either Tesoro or Las Hadres

Cabo--kinda up in the air. Thinking of taking a glass bottom boat around the arches and then doing a beach for a couple of hours.

That is so neat that you are from Alaska. You should just stay on the boat and take it back home:goodvibes

I am really starting to plan my FE's now. Also, I have read that other meets have done custom lanyards, is that something we are interested in?

I also updated the FE list. If you do not see your name and want to be added, please let me know
