Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

I finally ordered the picnic meal for the World of Colors. I can't wait! We'll be going next Friday night (Oct. 1). That'll probably get me back to the Disney mode...
YAY! You'll love it. We are going to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party that night. :scared1:

I'm praying we still get to go to Disneyland after Christmas, I just might get to meet you then and I WILL know what you look like. :thumbsup2 I'm so happy for you, that you hubby will be home for the holidays!

That reminds me...Susan, how's your brother doing? :littleangel:
Yes!! I hope you still plan on coming for Christmas, We'd love to meet you in the park to play.
And my brother has had a slew of tests, looks like the lymph nodes are non-cancerous (I'm not even sure of the terminology) but he will still need surgery and chemo and/or radiation. Getting various opinions, which all seem to be different. THANKS for asking! :lovestruc

Dany, that's a really nice pic of you all. :thumbsup2

I just had a wonderful night last night and have to share. 2 of my ex-foster sons called me. They are living back in town and want to get together. Can't believe I haven't seen them in 6 years. They're 15 &16 now and JoJo was 1 1/2 when they last saw him. Of course JoJo only knows them by the pictures we took at DL. Boy, time sure flies. :confused3

Thanks, Sandy! We took it on our last cruise. Both DD and DH hate posing for pictures - I had to promise that if we finally got a good one I wouldn't bug them about taking any pictures next April - I wonder if they really believe I'm going to stick with that! :rotfl:

I think it's terrific that you made such a positive contribution to these young men's lives that they are wanting to see you after all this time. :thumbsup2 Enjoy your visit!

...

I have a question...where will they let us use to meet on board?

I think we could meet anywhere there's room. On our first cruise we did the meet up on deck 10 before the sailaway party. Bad idea - way too crowded and hectic. Last cruise it was in the Promonade Lounge, which worked out well, but this group may end up too big for there. Where did some of you other previous cruisers meet?

YAY! You'll love it. We are going to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party that night. Anyone have a cute costume for me to borrow? I'm in a Cruella mood.:scared1:

That sounds like fun! I think we might try to do that next year. And glad to hear your brother got at least a little good news. :grouphug:

Our cruise we met at the promonade Lounge and one of the DISer's created a tent card for one of the tables. We met around 3pm on embankment day and seem to be the only ones there. Other groups have meet in the Lobby of Dec 3, right near the stairs.

Susan, it is better new! :thumbsup2

With all the embarkation stuff. I was hoping we would do the meet the next day. We are new to DCL and of course we'll be checking out the ship, ressie checking, Ocean Lab, Blah -blah- blah... JoJo and I only stopped by for a minute on the embarkation meet on our last cruise. Everyone else except 1 other couple didn't have kids to entertain and were pretty smached. Then they did a big meet a few days later on a sea day. On RCL they gave us the Vortex Lounge thru cruise critic. Cruise critic actually books it for every cruise. So I thought we could reserve a place on here. :confused3

Ok everyone...count us in for Randi's excursion! I emailed with her a couple of times this morning and she assured me the kids would be safe. She is going to make sure they both are secured with a seat belt and said not to worry.

The kids are SO excited!!!:cool1: Oh, and she said there is already a lot of people signed up from our cruise and lots of children.

Have a good time! DD is really looking forward to World of Colors so here's hoping for good weather.

That sounds like me, always bugging DD for pictures. I threatened not to take her with us to the med cruise unless she agreed to let me take as many pictures as I pleased. It worked!

I am also doing Randi w/ my 5 y/o daughter and 3 y/o son! Please feel free to PM/email me!
Welcome! You're added to our roll call on the website!

Gabriela, WELCOME!! :cheer2:You win the prize for traveling the farthest for this cruise. Your DD will be in good company, we have a lot of princesses around her age with us. You are not planning on a visit to Disneyland on this trip?::MickeyMo

Ok, I can do one group and that szubieta(2a/1c), kwemett(2a) & Susiesark(3a/1c) so that's 9. I can take a few more people to get 1 group of about 12. I will find out how we reserve with or without a down also.
Sandy, Have you heard any more from Mike about booking a group for the Pirate Excursion? Are we still able to do it independently if DCL is booking? Thanks for looking into it for us. pirate:

No, he's waiting for me to book the 12 to 15 people so he'll e-mail me a confirmation. It still stands at 9 with the 5 of us and your 4. He said at least 12 to get the 20% off. Anyone else decided yet? I'm ready to call him back. :thumbsup2

party: Welcome bitocas! :welcome: Yes I am also curious that you would travel all the way here (California) and not go to DL? Or are you guys from the states? I would LOVE to visit Portugal and Spain one day soon. My DH, Danny, is Spainsh Basque. But doesn't drink wine. :confused3 Looks like we have some port adventures that we might be on together. We are also hoping to get the Pirate Ship in PV and the Dolphin Swim in Cabo.

Hi Gabriela, welcome to the boards. My DD will also be 4 on the cruise and my DS will be 2. You have full days there, how fun!

thank you all for your welcome.regarding disneyland, well we visited disneyland paris a couple of times,is not the same but dd is litte, and she can't do some rides, and is frustrating.the cruise is so more relaxed, the charathers are everywhere and they take the time to bond whith children.we intende to visit california another time,i almost conviced dh to the reposiocional cruise to vancoveur, and then the alaska cruise,or maybe back to back salings in the new fantasy next year,i want to go to castaway cay.
szubieta-we live in portugal.its a beatiful country.if you like wine,we will be taking some botles of our own wine.we are late dining,if you are late came by our table we love to share.

My friend's family may be interested but it's too far in advance to plan for them. She hasn't even chime in on the Disboard yet. I think it sounds fun but DH thought otherwise. How far in advance do you need to book and what is their cancellation policy?

Cabo Dolphins is awesome and it's literally right next to the tender dock. If anyone in your party doesn't want to do the excursion, they are still allowed in to watch, just no pictures. They offer a CD of 20 photos for $169 (2008 prices) so try to get in the same group with someone you know and share the CD. You can print the photo at home and have the file for reuse/share plus it's a lot of cheaper than $25 a print!

Which excursion is this for? Is it the one with the pirate ship? If so I think we were planning on doing this through DCL but we may change.

Hubby finally received his call from Mickey telling him about the April cruise we're all on. He was SUPER surprised!!! I ordered him lots of unique embroidered monogrammed Disney clothes to wear on board... his family had a laugh at all the "Captain Ron" items (he's a boat captain, and I'd love for him to wear his hat on the trip, but know he won't). He just loves the sea, but will be viewing it from a whole new perspective this time around. He was concerned about all the hustle and bustle but I informed him that, for the most part, we can do what we wish, and not partake in what we don't want, while onboard. I like reading the discussion boards to see little hints on what "laid back" kind of things we can do. Simply gazing at the ocean, eating without preparation, and escaping to the magic of Disney will be our mode. All the shore excursions everyone is talking about sounds like fun, but our little one will still be quite little at cruise-time, and we'll just have to see new parts of the world through a little kid's eyes. I'm enjoying the commoradery that everyone presents on these discussion boards. It's like we'll have an extended family once on board. This will be unlike any other vacation we've taken! Thanks to all for your contribution to the magic we feel being a part of this Disney Cruise!!!:dance3:
Does anyone dress up for pirate night (meaning adults)? We have some KICKIN' Halloween outfits that could double up for the cruise!! Anyone know what night they tend to have it (at sea night, last night)? I think I'll be bringing more extras (FE, FE gifts, Disney themed door magnets, etc.) than my own clothes this trip!!

How fun and exciting for all! Our kids are also pretty young (4 and 2) so we don't plan on doing much more than the pirate adventure and some walking/shopping.

I'm not planning on dressing me up or any of our family just because I don't want to go through the hassle of packing extra items! I know, what a party pooper right??:rotfl:

However, I will be right there with my glass in hand celebrating along with everyone :yay:

Thank you very much, but I don't drink wine either. :confused3 I just think it's funny that a Basquo doesn't like wine.

They have the standard 24 hr for 100% refund. I was hoping to book asap. By the time we get to 120 day out they will start DCL ressies and those other 2 cruise ships will also be booking.

It figures they also gouge you with pictures. This means no underwater camera too then. :sad2: I feel that part of the fun on the dolphin encounter is having close-up personal photos too. Has anyone done a dolphin encounter on the MR that allows you to take pictures too?

Which excursion is this for? Is it the one with the pirate ship? If so I think we were planning on doing this through DCL but we may change.

Yes it is the pirate ship in PV. If we don't have at least 12 people to book we will try and go through DCL too.

:lmao: :lmao: :sail: Now when I mean your DH I'll be thinkin' bout Captain Ron with the braid, the skimpy speedo and a glass eye w/patch. pirate:

At this time we (Danny and I) will only be wearing a Capt Jack T-shirts. If I can find something piraty and cheap I will dress up too. Danny will probably stick with the T-shirt. ;)
