Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Michelle,
My daughter was 10 the first time we rode with Randi, so I have no first hand experience with younger children or the "seat belts", but she had never ridden before and was pretty nervous. They found her a really quiet, gentle horse and rode beside her leading the horse until she felt comfortable. Now the last 2 times we've been to Mazatlan she's been trying to race me down the beach! :)

We did ride in a group once that included 2 adults and about 8 small kids (probably from about 4 y.o. to 10). They got really gentle horses (they do a great job giving you horses that match your riding ability) and I'm pretty sure the younger ones were led by guides the whole time. Everyone had a great time, and most importantly, no one fell off!

I think your kids would be okay, but only you know what you'll feel comfortable with. You could do a search for others' experiences with Randi over on the Mexican Riviera board on Cruise Critic, maybe even post a question about specific experiences with young kids.

Hope this helps a little. :goodvibes

SO bummed we can't do the horseback riding. Daughter will be 4 and son will only be 2 so for sure not comfortable with them on a horse (not like Randi would allow them anyway!).

Going to have to enjoy other activities!

Hey, I thought I would give you guys a heads up that I am getting some good information on Manzanillo from Cruise Critic. There is a nice women there that posts pictures and gives good advice.

Not sure if it is against DIS board policy, but here is a link to one CC thread
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1278106

And here is another
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1240349

I think after reading these threads we are going to the Tessoro Resort for the day. It looks like we just pay for the food & drink and then can use all the facilities of the resort. I am going to try and get more confirmation on this. I cannot find an email address for the resort, I might have to break down and call them. Probably after January.
Kristi, after reading through the thread, are you still planning on Tessoro at Audiencia? And do you just walk in, stake out a spot, and not pay a cover charge? Hmm, bold move. (Works for me!):cool2: I'll follow you.

Thanks for the info. I sent Randi another email last night asking her specifically about their ages and also the age of her partners grandaughter that they invented the seat belt for. If the grandaughter is around the same age as my little ones then we will book.:) I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.

Don't blame you one bit. I have owned horses and you really don't know these. But I'm sure they use the very calm and/or old ones for the children. There will be LOTS of other trips. ;)

OK...I was just on the roll-call doing my faces-to-name thing and there's still lots of peeps we need to have pics on. You all know who you are. Susan, Michelle.... :rolleyes1 When it gets a little closer I will print them to study a little closer. I so enjoy seeing the new faces to know who we're talkin' to. ;)

Ha,ha,ha...this just made me laugh! I was thinking the other day that I need to get a family pic up on here SOON! I will dig around a little to see if I can find one of the 4 of us, so hard though b/c I'm usually the one taking the pics. However, were are having family pictures taken in a couple of weeks so I will definitely post some.;)

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure if we are going to do it with our little ones either. I'm waiting to see what other have to say. I posted a question on Cruise Critic so we'll see.

Exactly! We don't get one with the three of us much. If friends hadn't gone on that cruise with us in 08. I would be using a picture from 07. :confused3 JoJo takes SOME good photos but you never know if your going to look like a Picasso or not. :lmao:

Sorry! I've been trying to find a photo of the four of us that are going (I have 2 other DDs that are not joining us) but since DH isn't around here much, it's hard to get a group pic. :grouphug: He'll be here in 1 1/2 months so I'll make it a priority!

I'm praying we still get to go to Disneyland after Christmas, I just might get to meet you then and I WILL know what you look like. :thumbsup2 I'm so happy for you, that you hubby will be home for the holidays!

That reminds me...Susan, how's your brother doing? :littleangel:

Yes, it's nice to put a face to the name. C'mon everyone, send me the photos and I'll upload them to the website! On that note, I just uploaded a new photo of Dany & family (LV Disney Fan(atic)) so go check it out!

I finally ordered the picnic meal for the World of Colors. I can't wait! We'll be going next Friday night (Oct. 1). That'll probably get me back to the Disney mode...

Thanks, Connie - for the upload and for managing the website for us! :goodvibes

Hope you have a great time at DL! Please let us know about your experience with WOC. Sami and I are going to do the Ariel's Grotto package when we're there in November; I'm curious as to how much of a madhouse it really is this time of year.

There are two Michelle posters on here and I think we both "owe" a picture! I'll send one now :cutie:

Okay...just got an email from Randi. She said Macy and Sean would have to be on their own horse with a seat belt that they invented. Has anyone seen this done before? According to her, their ages are fine (Macy will be a week shy of 5 and Sean will be almost 3 1/2). What do you all think? Will they be ok to ride? And this is coming from someone who had NEVER been on a horse so I have no clue. I'm worried that they will fall off.
It does sound fun to me (other that the falling off part) and dh said he would definitely do this (he has ridden before).

I am also doing Randi w/ my 5 y/o daughter and 3 y/o son! Please feel free to PM/email me!

Dany, that's a really nice pic of you all. :thumbsup2

I just had a wonderful night last night and have to share. 2 of my ex-foster sons called me. They are living back in town and want to get together. Can't believe I haven't seen them in 6 years. They're 15 &16 now and JoJo was 1 1/2 when they last saw him. Of course JoJo only knows them by the pictures we took at DL. Boy, time sure flies. :confused3

WELCOME!!!! Yes, please let me know what you know about the seat belt thing from Randi. I'm guessing you talked to her about it?

That's what this thread is all about. We will be setting a date & time to meet on the ship, but in the mean time we started meeting here. The website that Travelbee & hubby put together is more on who we are, our pictures, itinerary, our FE group info, a blog, maps of ports and port adventures. I hope I made since. :goodvibes

I have a question...where will they let us use to meet on board?
