I remember playing Spoons years ago, But I can;t remember much about it. Now I have to look it up.

We have been play farkle and laughing up a storm. It will be a great travel game for the family.

Spoons sounds familiar. but can't remember it. DH is addicted to Farkle. Our friend is a game inventor, and we played his newest game Stix and Stones for hours. Look for it on Amazon. Lots of fun.

OK...what is Farkle and how do you play? :confused3 We love playing games. :goodvibes

It would be cool to know someone that makes games. I have been in a test group once and we played all sorts. Some you can buy and some went back to the drawing board and came out later.

Saw this post on the main board regarding dining schedules. Wonder if any of this would pertain to our cruise.

This was from an email I received from the Disney Concierge team!

As of now Formal Night on night # 2, Pirate Night on night # 4 and Semi Formal on night #6.

We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical day!

Farkle is a 6 dice game. It is very fast pace and the first person that gets to 10,000 wins. You can purchase games anywhere and Target has it for $5 (will a rolling up) But all you need is 6 die and paper and a pencil. You can google the rules.

Very good for teaching strategy to kids and we always take it as a travel game.
It is frustrating if you know how to play Yatzee, because the dice do not score the same way.
Only 1 and 5 are worth points and then you have to roll combinations to get more points. If you don't have anything in your roll, then you farkle and forefit what you have been accumulating. I think Greed is similar, but I have never played that game before.

I want to do the same thing. We can book on 1/17 our Palo. I am hoping to call earlier in the week to see if they have our schedule yet.

Just booked this cruise for our honeymoon.
Welcome Gino, glad to have you join our board. Congratulations ontake your upcoming marriage. This is what we are planning on doing for excursions:
PV-ziplining through Los Veranos
Mazatlan-Stone Island
Manzanillo-take cab to Tessoro resort or another
Cabo-I think water taxi to the arches and then a nearby beach

This game sounds great, I want to get it for my kids. We need to do more games that do not involve chutes & ladders:)

So sorry to see you leave MousseauMob :sad1:

We are starting to loose our FE group. I am wondering if more people will join our board as it gets closer? I think we might lose some more people as final payment approaches. Just booked our travel insurance yesterday. First time we have gotten travel insurance. There were so many companies and choices I was not sure where to start. I went with Travel Guard because they had kids free with the parents. I am hoping not to use them.

Hi All,

This is informational for others who are thinking about downgrading their staterooms:

We put our deposit for down months ago and took advantage of the kids sail free promotion. We booked a stateroom with Verandah. With less than a month to go until final deposits are due, we decided to downgrade so that we can go on a couple of excursions and get spa treatments for DW.

I called up Disney Cruiseline folks and they confirmed it is possible to downgrade and **keep** the kids sale free promotion. If you booked with that promotion, you can downgrade via phone or on website. I made the call during day to confirm but did not change until I went home that night and made the change online to an oceanview stateroom. This saved us about $1300 which we now have to book excursions and spa stuff.

Just wanted others to know it is possible if this is a consideration for anyone. Can't wait to get on the cruise!!!:yay:

NOTE: This also works the other way around. You can upgrade staterooms too and keep promotion (at least that is what the Disney person said)

MousseauMob, So sorry to hear, hope you get to cruise soon!

Laura, Thanks for the Farkle 411. It sound like a blast and I downloaded the instructions just now.

virdis, that's certainly good to know. :thumbsup2 But for me I booked 11C knowing I rather do excursions and the spa so there's no place to down grade me too. :rotfl: I'm just buying up GC's to pay for all the OBC I'll have. :goodvibes

I need to get trip insurance too really soon!!

Sandy, I got our trip insurance through Travel Guard. They had kids free and I was actually surprised at how inexpensive it was. We went with the Gold plan and it was $149 for the 5 of us. I rounded up our trip cost and then divided it by 5, so we were each covered equally. I got that advice from this board. We can cancel for illness or loss of job. Now that I think about it, I don't know if it covers illness or death of a family member not traveling. Well, no one is allowed to get sick or die before we go.

Welcome Virdis!! Thanks for the information.
