I haven't even taken my first DCL cruise yet, but I'm tempted to book on the Fantasy to Western Caribbean for 2012. When is the best time to book for great rates? The oceanview room costs less than the inside room! Any one else interested?

I'd book now as rates tend to go up as inventory decreases. If the price is still the same when our cruise comes around, you can rebook the same cruise onboard to take advantage of the 10% discount and the OBC.

I'd love to go on a cruise on the Dream or the Fantasy but the Magic feels like home. I'm hoping to switch our June 2011 med. reservation for some exciting itinerary on the Magic in 2012 (fingers crossed for eastern mediterranean). If the Magic is not going anywhere fun, we may take a 7-night on the Fantasy...

I just got off the phone with DCL canceling our 2 rooms for this cruise. DH has to go away for work for 7 months and would have to miss this trip.

We got a great deal on the Panama Canal and are booked on the 2 night afterwards. That will have to be our big trip for now.

Stephanie we will miss you. However, maybe I will see you on the 2 nighter.

I would love to do the Panama cruise. My youngest will not be 3 yet, and I need that kids club. I am hoping by 2013 to do the Med or a Panama cruise, possibly on another line though. I doubt DCL will be doing Panama again for a long time.

Yay, 5 months from today we sail

I just got home from buying $300 worth of groceries for the next week, Thanksgiving, 2 class parties, and relatives staying for a few days. I will be ecstatic when I don't have to cook for 10 nights and have healthy, wonderful, different meals. We are all getting tired of the same old meals around here. However, you know the kids always eat nuggets, cheeseburgers, and mac & cheese on the cruise.

I just read the Carnival Splendor is going to be out of commission until mid-January. That sucks. Glad that did not happen to the Wonder.

Hi, everyone,

DD and I had a great time at DL, but unfortunately both of us brought back nasty colds! Oh, well, small price to pay for our Disney fix. Sorry we didn’t get a chance to set up a meet with you, Susan, but not sure we would have been able to find each other anyway – the place was packed most of the weekend. I’ve never seen DCA as crowded as it was on Friday – almost a 2 hour wait for TSMM! We went back to DCA on Sunday and it was much better, hardly any lines at all. Despite the crowds we had fun at both parks and did a lot, just had to get up early to beat the crowds and gather Fastpasses, then take an afternoon break and go back at night to use the FPs. Saw WOC for the first time (awesome!) and did the holiday tour. Not so impressed by the tour info itself, but getting into the HM and Small World without waiting was great, and we got excellent seating to watch the parade.

We stayed at the GCH for the first time and while it was a very nice hotel and I’m glad we tried it once, I have to say we did not think it was really worth the price (even though we got a great deal on the rate). So next trip we’ll head back to our beloved Candy Cane Inn.

I was sorry to read that Stephanie won’t be joining us on the cruise; I’m afraid with our final pay date just 4 weeks away we may lose a few more from our group. But hopefully not! I think once Christmas is over the time is just going to fly by – can’t wait!

Dany, sounds like you and Sami had a great weekend. DL is so beautiful decorated for Christmas. TSMM is our favorite ride, so we'd love to see a fastpass machine put in someday.
We definitely won't be cancelling this trip (unless some unforeseen emergency comes up) as the whole family can barely think of anything else. I'm ready to book for 2012!!

Who else will be visiting Disneyland during the holidays?

Dani, glad you had fun at DL. It sounds like you made the best out of crowded parks. I have no patience for crowds any more. I guess since I have young kids (strollers, cranky, whining) it makes it harder. In my pre-kid days I could do the crowds, even worked at DL on the 4th of July in 1997 and had no problem. Now I try to avoid them at all costs. That is why I am hesitant to try the Dream and Fantasy. I am not sure I want to deal with that many people on a ship. I really like the small/medium size of the Magic/Wonder.

No canceling the cruise coming from us. I am transferring the reservations to my mom who is a TA. She is going to give me her commission back. I hate giving up the control to someone else, but I think I have it all set up where I will need no more changes. I am working on getting travel insurance before the final payment and then I think we are set. Just working on FE gifts in 2011 and printing out our magnets. Nothing much left to do.

I read on Cruise Critic that there is a new port in Manzanillo, closer to town and shopping. So that is good news for people who just want to get off the ship and walk around there. I read the old port was in an industrial part of town and nothing to do right off the ship.

Also did you guys read on the main board about the new Wave phones that will be available on the Wonder? You get your own type of cell phone for your stateroom to text and call on the ship. Sounds really cool and perfect.

Cold and wet here today. Starting to feel like winter. I will be all ready for the sun and warm weather come April.

Didn't stop JoJo from getting in the ocean. He wants to get a skimboard for next time. DSister & I were whale watching on Sunday from the patios of our rooms.

Dany, glad to here your trip was nice...I am fightin' something now too. Probably from too little sleep, that's gets me everytime.
