Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Sandy, I got our trip insurance through Travel Guard. They had kids free and I was actually surprised at how inexpensive it was. We went with the Gold plan and it was $149 for the 5 of us. I rounded up our trip cost and then divided it by 5, so we were each covered equally. I got that advice from this board. We can cancel for illness or loss of job. Now that I think about it, I don't know if it covers illness or death of a family member not traveling. Well, no one is allowed to get sick or die before we go.

Welcome Virdis!! Thanks for the information.

Thanks!! I will check a quote tonight. :thumbsup2

What excursions is everyone thinking about?

Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! :groom::bride:

We are doing:
PV - Outdoor Adventure Zipline
Mazatlan - Randi's Happy Horses & a half day city tour w/Mazatlan Frank
Manzanillo - Beach resort
Cabo - Dolphin swim

Sorry guys, we have had to cancel our cruise for personal reasons. I hope you all have a fabulous time!

Sorry to hear that :sad1:

I want to do the same thing. We can book on 1/17 our Palo. I am hoping to call earlier in the week to see if they have our schedule yet.

We are starting to loose our FE group. I am wondering if more people will join our board as it gets closer? I think we might lose some more people as final payment approaches. Just booked our travel insurance yesterday. First time we have gotten travel insurance. There were so many companies and choices I was not sure where to start. I went with Travel Guard because they had kids free with the parents. I am hoping not to use them.

We need someone in our group who's at concierge level so they can request the dining info. Come on, doesn't anyone want to upgrade for us? :rotfl:

Kristi, from previous cruise meet threads I would bet that we lose a few more folks by Dec 17, and then we'll get a whole bunch of new people in January and February. But even if there are only a few of us, we will have loads of fun with the FE exchange! :cool1:

Welcome Virdis!! Thanks for the information.

I also checked out Travel Guard Gold and it definitely covers you if you have to cancel due to serious illness or death of any of the travelers or close family members not traveling. Not that you ever want to use it but it's good it's there!

A reminder to any USAA members out there: they offer travel insurance too and for us it's been the cheapest we found. (Kids are also covered for free.) For non-USAA members, try insuremytrip.com. Great place to get quotes and compare a lot of different policies.

Bought our plane tickets last night! Got a great deal from Seattle to LA on Alaska. :thumbsup2

:woohoo: Getting those tickets makes the trip seem more real, doesn't it? Congrats on getting a good deal - airfare can be ridiculous these days.

Welcome, virdis - to the cruise and to the DIS boards!

Thanks so much. I usually watch the Facebook page more since it is easier to view on my smartphone but decided to post here since it looks like more people come here versus Facebook.

I will get a pic and send this month. Thanks again. -Virdis :)

The new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is out in May 2011. What are the chances we will get to preview it in April??? pirate:
Who's bringing the dice to play games?? I'm a Bunco girl, myself, but eager to learn new games.

That would be awesome if they gave a sneak peak at POTC 4, but I doubt that would happen. I am hoping Tangled will still be showing since we are not going to see it in theaters. I am not going to go see any Disney movies for the next 5 months, hoping they will show them onboad. My DH really wants to see Tron and I am telling him I bet it will be on board in Jan. for our 2 day cruise.

I am a bunco girl too. Wouldn't that be fun to get a game together onboard??

Virdis, I saw you in the FB group, glad you made your way over here. So you were on an Amazon cruise, would love to hear about it. How old are your kids? They will love DCL.

I've been MIA for a while! With MIL having knee replacement surgery, planning a retirement party for a co-worker and a birthday party for DD, and Thanksgiving, the last few weeks have been chaotic. Luckily, we took a much needed break in Dany's hood over the weekend. I got a massage and we saw a couple of shows. HIGHLY recommend the Lion King if anyone's in Vegas.

Stepahnie & MousseauMob - sorry to see you leave!

Virdis & Gino USMC - I will update the website and add you to the roll call. Please let me know if I miss any newbies!

That cruise was on the now defunct Royal Olympic Cruise Lines back in 2001. They had a ship called the Voyager that held roughly 800 passengers. It had a Greek registry and most of the food on board was mediterranean. What the ship lacked in size, it made up for in speed.

The cruise we took was a 17 day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale Florida into the Amazon. Our ports of call were Puerto Rico, Tortola British Virgin Islands, Saint Thomas, Barbados, Devils Island, Manaus Brazil, Santarem Brazil, Trinadad, and Martinique. It was awesome but, after around day 14, we were ready to get off that ship!!!:bounce:

This was three years before the birth of our first child, so both of our kids have never been on a cruise before. This will be the first of many we hope to take with them. We have two kids....DD (age 6) and DS (age 5) -Virdis

Finally got my travel insurance yesterday. USAA is the way to go didn't even know that they had that. So glad to know now. Now getting ready for the final payment.

Virdis: that sounds like a great cruise to bad they aren't around any more.

Did you know...the Mickey ice cream bars are made at a Nestle factory near Fresno. :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar

Who knew...:confused3 I'm watching Unwrapped on the food network, it's about Disney Delights. :thumbsup2 Saw the Disneyland one the other day with Guy Fieri from last Christmas. They even make an egg nog creme brulee at Napa Rose. YUM!!

Any idea on when we will find out when priate night is? pirate:

I just sent DCL an email asking them; I'll let you know what I find out. They probably won't be able to give me the information yet but I think we should all take turns emailing and calling every few days, they'll eventually tell us just to get some peace and quiet! :rotfl:

:woohoo: Wow, DCL answered me within about 30 minutes of getting my email! Here's what they said:

WooHoo!! Thanks Dany! Now we can really start planning. I kinda find it funny that Formal night is right at the beginning. I would prefer it in the middle of the cruise. Now to start planning my preferences for Palo.

:woohoo: :woohoo:   This is so WONDERful!!!! After reading your post about everyone emailing and calling, I was ready to get on the bandwagon. :goodvibes I am just so afraid that I will pick the wrong night for Palo. I really don't want to miss the first night at AP, but really would like to do Palo on formal night. :confused3 Well I guess I will have to get the Palo ressies first and then pray, pray, pray...:wizard:

Well back to cleanin' and puttin' up Christmas stuff. Watching the WDW Behind the Scenes again. Makes taking a break NICE! :happytv:

Ha! I was watching it last night too! I recorded it so DD could watch. I was SO craving those Mickey bars. Guy Fieri always comes to The Food and Wine Festival at DCA but there's always a crowd to see him.
See you soon!
