We've always used insuremytrip.com. You put in the ages of everyone you are insuring and the quotes you get will take into account that the kids are free under a lot of the plans. Go take a look; quotes are free and you can compare the plans side by side.
When you put in the cost of your trip, try a few different dollar amounts - the prices often are for blocks of coverage. For example (and I'm completely making up these numbers just to help explain): Your trip might cost $3100 and the insurance costs $175 (remember, I'm making this up - I don't remember what we paid last time
) But if you put in a trip cost of $2990, the insurance might only cost $150. You could also get $3490 worth of insurance for the same $175 as for the $3100, because, in my example, coverage from $3000 to $3499 is going to cost you the same amount, while any amount from $2500 to $2999 will also cost the same (but less than the $3000+). Hope this makes at least a little sense!
For any of you who are USAA members, they sell trip insurance too at pretty good prices.
