Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

I always bring a stack of single dollar bills for room service. We usually just order little snacks and unless you order something you have to pay for (alcohol, canned soda, etc) you won't get a bill to sign so cash is the only way to tip.

When we sailed last Oct. we were able to tip on the "bill" that was brought. We never ordered anything that cost, just the freebies. We would get a $0 bill to sign and then I would add the tip to that. I never used cash on the whole trip, other then to pay guest services for our onboard charges. We loved the cheese and fruit platter, southwestern cesear salad, cookies, cheeseburgers, soup. Okay, we loved everything we got. I did not know about the Mickey bars with room service, so we missed those. Yum Yum, so much food and so little time.

Yep - instead of DIS meets we need to have DIS workouts! :yay:

I totally agree! I am desperately trying to loose a few pounds before the cruise. Because I know I will eat that much while we are cruising. I don't hold back :goodvibes

Well that's good to know; I won't have to save up all those dollar bills. :goodvibes I don't remember getting a bill to sign, but that's probably because I wasn't looking for it (or I've just completely forgotten about it - also possible!)

We always bring a stack of singles for room service also, very convenient and they are so happy when you give them a few extra $'s.:goodvibes:

On my gosh, I almost missed it.

7 months from today we sail :banana::banana::banana:

Woohoo!! Now the 6 month countdown will be super exciting too. Since I have been counting for 18 months, it almost is starting to feel real.

YAY! 7 months from today we are cruising. Can't come soon enough.

Good news: I lost 5 lbs. this week. :) Bad news: I've already gained 2 back. Must be all the chatter about the goodies from room service.

:thumbsup2 At least you LOST more than gained! I had been running so much then all of a sudden stopped, and now I really have to start up again if I want to enjoy the cruise!

Ahhhh, I love seeing your monthly countdown. I wouldn't have even realized it. Makes it so exciting

For anyone who is planning to ride with Randi's Happy Horses in Mazatlan:

I'm working with Mazatlan Frank to set up a city tour for us in the afternoon after our ride (I thought I really should try to see more of the city this time). I don't have all the details yet but I thought I'd let you all know in case anyone wants to join us. I think the price will be about $35/per adult, kids 3-10 $22. I've never toured with Frank before, but he gets great reviews on Cruise Critic; you can check out all his tours on his website http://www.mazatlan-frank.com/index.html

Any idea when we will know the dining schedule? I would love to know when pirate night is. I want to try and figure out what night would be best to book Palo for dinner.

Keep me informed of what you find out about Frank's. We are scheduled with Randi's. Will there be time for anything additional after Randi's? Frank's page says his tour is all day. Will he give a discount for a larger group?

Yes, there is definitely time for a tour with Frank after Randi's. He does a half day tour as well as a full day and he assured me that he and Randi coordinate these things (a ride plus a tour) all the time. I'll ask him about any discounts and I'll let you know what I find out.

Hey Susie, did you or someone else post info about Randi's? I would love to do the horseback riding but not sure if they will accept small children (Macy will be almost 5 and Sean will be 3). Plus dh is a big guy and I know they usually have weight restrictions.
Where can I find this info?
Thanks,
Michelle

Hey, I thought I would give you guys a heads up that I am getting some good information on Manzanillo from Cruise Critic. There is a nice women there that posts pictures and gives good advice.

Not sure if it is against DIS board policy, but here is a link to one CC thread
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1278106

And here is another

I think after reading these threads we are going to the Tessoro Resort for the day. It looks like we just pay for the food & drink and then can use all the facilities of the resort. I am going to try and get more confirmation on this. I cannot find an email address for the resort, I might have to break down and call them. Probably after January.

I believe I have read she does rides for kids 3+. Not sure of weight restrictions. I would shoot her an email to find out. She gets awesome reviews for her rides.

Thanks! Just sent her an email. Did you book a group rate or anything? Is there a group of diser's on our cruise already going? I would love to ride with everyone else if we are able to.

No, there's no group rate, but yes, several of us have already booked with her. :cool1: Our family is going, and Susiesark and I think MousseauMob have booked as well. Everyone goes in one group unless she gets a lot of people signed up, then she'll put those who signed up later in a second group. So we should all be in the first, earlier group together. :)

Okay...just got an email from Randi. She said Macy and Sean would have to be on their own horse with a seat belt that they invented. Has anyone seen this done before? According to her, their ages are fine (Macy will be a week shy of 5 and Sean will be almost 3 1/2). What do you all think? Will they be ok to ride? And this is coming from someone who had NEVER been on a horse so I have no clue. I'm worried that they will fall off.
It does sound fun to me (other that the falling off part) and dh said he would definitely do this (he has ridden before).
