Did anyone get advanced warning?

Hopefully some of you July trippers can take advantage of the newly released AP codes. I am encouraged that Disney has released these codes and hopefully they can be taken advantage of by some of you.
What irks me a little bit and this is a minor rant is the fact that as of 2PM eastern we (DW and I) have received no warning (customary email) of a pending (or now released) AP OPPORTUNITY. Don't get me wrong I appreciate that the codes are released and it does not affect me because our next trip is for F&W but, it sure would be nice to be given a heads up prior to non-AP folks gobbling these rooms up. I know, you are all saying but we are ALL AP holders, at least when the codes are released you are LOL. What I'm trying to say is it would seem a bit more correct to allow existing AP holders a day or two to book online (similar to the BRP) prior to releasing these to the general public. I understand that you are supposed to have an AP or voucher to check-in but I have witnessed guest meltdowns firsthand (WL last November) when a guest booked an AP rate and could not produce the AP or voucher at check-in and it was UGLY. Its just my personal opinion but I think this may be contributing somewhat to the apparently apprehensive release of discount rooms. OK, rant over.

Hopefully some of you were able to take advantage of this release.

Have fun.

Cheers,

Schuey

A family of AP holders here (most since 1995) and usually receive all AP emails, but so far nothing yet. We get the emails on 3 different accounts and haven't heard a word. However, I couldn't believe how quickly the information was posted on the AP website. I checked this morning when I read the thread and then checked before noon and was surprised to see the icons already posted with all of the information regarding the discount there. Seldom does the website get posted so quickly.

I guess this is what shocked me. I know in the past there has been some substantial delays but it would appear that they have finally hired a knowledgeable webmaster. Just looking for Disney to throw us AP holders a bone. LOL

I have NEVER received advanced warning of AP rates being relased. I have NEVER received any information period about rates at all.

I know I am not the only one out there either as I have read lots of posts saying the same thing.

It amazes me that Dis members were the first to announce that an AP code was out, before the AP site, before the Dis announcement page, before Mousesavers, etc. It's because of Disers calling every morning that we even knew about the code as early as we did. :disrocks:

This was our first note on DIS about the codes being released. A few others said no because the days they were checking on were in June.

It happened so fast. A lot of us have been getting up at 6:00 am to call and check for over 2 weeks now.

Today it paid off if you were going in July/early AUg and at the Epcot resorts.

Well, it seems like the last couple time's they've released AP rates, I have gotten an email either the day of release or like a day early type thing. But this time no. It's probably because they have so few rooms to book.

but did get Yacht club for the three nights we wanted to end out vacation, so I am not too upset.

Funny thing is Beach and Boardwalk was already sold out when I called fo rht edates I wanted and the CM didn't know it was limited to the Three resorts plus the $159 rate for the DVC Studios. She said, that it amazes her that we (the people) know more than them.

yes, thanks for the nod! :goodvibes One of the posters gave me a hard time for being so quick to put up the announcement, without knowing the EXACT dates (July/August didn't help me either, as our vacation is in June). My main concern was getting the word out that SOMETHING was out ASAP to all of those who have been getting up WAY too early each and every morning in the attempt to get AP discounts. I literally handed the phone to my wife (Who was in the shower at the time) the INSTANT the operator stated, "Oh my God, they ARE out"! As soon as I hit the submit button, my wife shouted out, "NO JUNE DATES"! What can you do? I tried. Still, I'm REALLY happy for those who DID get AP rates.

Well I for one want to personally thank you TD!

I was online at 6:00 AM today and saw the no...but then saw your BIG

YES YES .

Once I realized what was going on I made my call and got the discount.

Isn't the internet great!!

Another thanks TD! :cheer2: I believed you this morning when I read your YES post! I was right there when you posted this morning, but not quite awake enough to defend you then. :)

I had been following the June/July/August thread too because initially our ressies were for mid June. I switched them a few weeks ago to take advantage of the codes ending June 3rd because we were able to get the resort we wanted. I am thankful I followed my gut feeling and did that when the opportunity presented itself, otherwise I too might be singing the no code blues.

I met someone recently who was hired to work on the website. She told me they had built up a large staff for it.

My hubby got an email this morning. I didn't. His was received at 7:55 pm last night. It wasn't the same as the others where it said "advance notice" or anything, just that rates were out.
