Deyki's Make-A-Wish - 12/15 - Maybe not

i am so excited that the autograph books arrived, my son loved seeing the pics as he helped choose the character pics. thanks again for sharing your beautiful kids with us

Yeah! Everyone got there things from me...I am the non sewer of the group:goodvibes, but I try to snag goodies from the store! I saw that stitch and just knew Nidra would like him! Chantae was easy too...a princess girl. I had to be a little more creative for Deyki! I knew I could find the Goofy plush, but I had to have my stock room mgr hunt down the shirt for me (Thanks Megan!) At least I had some Spiderman things for him!:) I sent the crayon things, for something to do on the plane...I should have sent one for you too...Me and a girlfriend that came with us on the last trip actually coloredon the plane...we amused the flight attendents and horrified my 15 yr old son... which was fun!

Gladyou like your bag and mug! And as parents, I agree, we have certain priviledges!;)

The pictures of the kids are just beautiful! You are a special person to do everything you do!

Also "WOW" to all the beautiful work from the the seamtresses from the Big Give...they did (and do) some wonderful things!

Tell your son he did a great job. My kids are looking forward to meeting the characters in their books!

I'm glad non sewers can have a place with the Big Give because I would like to join you all in giving after we get back. I would love to learn to sew too, but I'm not sure where I would find the time!

Stitch was a total win for Nidra! Goofy is a hit too! I'm glad you found the shirt because he is eager to wear it.

Glad everyone is enjoying the pictures! I have a few more to get to - Michelle in her Tink outfit, and Deyki and Nidra in what the received yesterday.

We had one problem while I was distracted with the excitement of preparing for our trip. The babies got into my contact lenses. :scared1: My glasses are very old, hardly good to see out of, and plain unattractive! I have an appointment at 2 today with the mother of one of my Cubbies who just happens to be an eye doctor. My prescription is not usually one they have in stock, but she said she will do all she can to get me new contacts before our trip. I hope it works!

:wizard: on the new contacts!!

Love all the BIG GIVE gifts!! Your kids are awesome!! Thanks for sharing them with us!!

Hoorah for all the BIG GIVERS!! :yay:

I can't wait to see more. I hope you are able to get some good contact lenses.
If you need some glasses you might want to check lenscrafters website. They sometimes have some unadvertised specials there. I got a pair of prescription sunglasses for only $89.00, my lenses alone usually cost over $100 so that was a really good price. The frames are really cute too.

It's Star Wars Family Fun Night tonight as we kick-off our 7 days of Disney nights leading up to our departure. We had Princess Leia Pizza Rolls, Womp Rat on a Stick, Pretzel Rod Light Sabers, and Yoda Soda. The Princess Leia Rolls are bread dough rolled out like cinnamon rolls and filled with cheese, pepperoni, tomatoes, and spinach. Womp Rat on a Stick are basically chicken kabobs. Pretzel Rod light sabers are pretzel rods dipped in melted white chocolate with colorful sprinkles. Yoda Soda is lime sherbet with 7-Up served in a glass bowl sitting on top of green glow sticks!

I got my new contacts! Good thing too because I am barely legal for driving with my glasses on. Guess that's the next thing I need to save up for.

Tomorrow our wish granters are coming to the house with our luggage, airline tickets, and fun things for the kids! A week from now we will be in Orlando!:banana::banana:

Oh so close!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I love the Star Wars ideas! DH isn't "into" all the Disney stuff so we're not doing much but don't even think I wouldn't if I could. Don't worry...we're getting ours in too just not full movie nights..I refuse to give in! :lmao:

Our wish volunteers came today....they brought some really cool stuff and lots more information than I could process today..I'll be re-reading it tomorrow.

I am going to have to hit the bank tomorrow too. They brought a check for the money instead of a prepaid cash card of some kind. Now I have to decide how to put it into spending form. Prepaid visa, travellers checks, or just into my checking so I can use my debit card.

The excitement here is soooo thick...hope you kiddos are as excited as we are! It's only a week away....time to pack (ooh we got new luggage today too :cool1: ).

You all will be on your way very soon. How exciting!!!
My kids and I have been keeping up with your report. We sent the Spiderman shirt. My son Gray helped design it. I am still in a little trouble for not making him one, too. We can't wait to hear all about your adventures when you return.

Chantae enjoys her princess dress -

Those are glow in the dark beads in her hair that we bought especially for Disney. One of the things on my list to do before we leave is finish braiding and beading her hair. The bigger job is putting a weave in Nidra's hair. That can take 4-8 hours! Hopefully I will get a strong start on it today.

You can see glimpses of our backyard behind her. We are so blessed to have a great big yard even in the city!

I am so glad Chantae likes her dress...she looks so pretty in it! I fogot to put a note in the box! Sorry! I think you have a wonderful and beautiful family and hope you have a great trip!:goodvibes

Are you done packing? I haven't even started :lmao: ..but I did get to the store today and get most of the "last minute" stuff and (drum roll please.....) Boo's special needs stroller came in this afternoon so I can pick it up tomorrow (like I have time!). Messes with the laundry, packing and shopping stuff but I'm doing it 'cause I REALLY want to take it instead of his crummy wheelchair.
4 more sleeps for you guys...5 for me! Sleep well and have a GREAT flight!

Today we drop the toddlers off with respite families. I will miss them, but maybe it will give me the chance to actually finish everything on our to do list, including posting the rest of the pictures. The list seems to be growing rapidly! :scared1:

One major change is happening while we are on our trip. DCFS is screening Michelle into foster care. Up until now it has been a voluntary placement, but since the changes needed to safely return her home have not happened, they are making it official. The good news is, her worker stopped by yesterday to assure me that they would not move her from my home. :thumbsup2 She said she wanted to be sure I knew that before we left for our trip, so there would not be any part of me worried about her while we are gone.

Had to share that good news with you all! Now I am off to cancel the mail, pick up meds, drop off the toddlers, drop of Awana supplies for next week, and do the girls' hair. Oh, and I have been inspired by the ladies on the Big Give and am trying my hand at sewing for my daughter for the first time ever! I will post a pic of what I made once I finish it! Thanks for the inspiration!

Yeah! I am so glad Michelle will be with you full time when you get back! Good luck with getting all of the last minute items taken care of! :wizard:

Just getting back from my trip!!! Love all the pics! Hope everything is getting a little easier and you are having fun prepping

That is so great that Michelle is going to be placed with you!!!

I can't wait to see what you made!

BTW, Tiana is kinda hidden in the park. If you go over the bridge from Main St to Adventureland, there is another bridge that goes to the right into Liberty Sqaure....at the end of that bridge, Tiana's gazebo is immediately on the left. The brochures just say "Liberty Square". If you go to Liberty Square, you'll never see her because she's hidden behind the buildings.

We are home!!!

I am so eager to start our trip report, but I am too tired to do it well. I will have to wait and probably go slowly with it.

Everything was incredible, and I have so many fun things to share. Lots of pictures - even though our camera was swept out to sea near the end of our trip! :scared1: (That's just a tease to keep you reading. It did happen, but I'll give details when we get to that day in the TR.)

Real life has hit head on today. Michelle's babysitter called and said she was sick. I arranged for a friend to watch my kids so I could see how sick Michelle was and if she should be around Deyki or not. She looked miserable when I picked her up - lethargic, high fever, cough, and congestion. She has the flu, probably H1N1. They started her on Tamiflu.

Deyki can't be exposed to this. My sister picked up my children from my friend and is keeping them until I nurse Michelle back to health. I miss my kids. After all the fun we had together, it seems so wrong not to have them here.

So, I am exhausted and hoping I don't catch the flu too.

I'll start our TR as soon as I can! Right now I'm going to try and rest.

I'm so glad you all had a wonderful trip, and so sorry you had to come home to Michelle being sick. Take your time and rest up, we'll be here whenever you're ready and feeling up to it. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts...
