Deyki's Make-A-Wish - 12/15 - Maybe not

Here's where I need to apologize. :sad2: Between the usual craziness of life and a really hard thing I have had to deal with, I got too disorganized and forgetful. I didn't write down who sent what and packages started arriving faster, sometimes more than one a day. I'm embarrassed to say, I can't put names with each picture I post. :headache: Sorry! If you recognize what you sent us, will you kindly let me know? I am sure there are even pictures missing. Life just felt like chaos for awhile, and it was all I could do to just get through the days. Everything we have received has been a tremendously fun thing to receive.

This very fun Spiderman shirt arrived next. Deyki was proud to wear it to model for pics, but has been very unhappy with me for not letting him wear it again until the trip!

As if all the excitement of our upcoming trip and the BIG GIVE were not enough, we had two birthdays in October! :cheer2: Chantae turned 8, and Deyki turned 6. One of these days I will have to change ages in my signature. We had a pirate and princess birthday party. pirate:princess:

My little princess was the last one to safely sit in this chair. Some overly rambuctious pirates jumped in it a time too many. Later that day it crashed to the ground and lost a leg!

More birthday pics will follow soon. Now it's time to mix up Deyki's chemo, give everyone meds, and tuck them into bed.

I am really enjoying following along with all the pictures! It is so much fun to get to see more of the kids and hear what they love! The pirate and princess party seems like a great theme for a birthday, especially before a wish trip!!

Take it easy before you leave so you can enjoy yourself!!

i love all the pics, they are beautiful children. i love all your theme nights. they look like they are having a great time opening their stuff.

I am loving all the pictures so far!

Don't worry too much packing. I end up folding laundry and putting it in suitcases as I wash it usually, the night before we leave. It is just hard to get it done any other way.

I love the Pirate and Princess themed party!

Now more birthday pictures. . . .

I set up "Pirate Island" in the back of the house. They had a treasure hunt with "gold" coins, fakes jewels, and candy. They painted alligators - cute little jointed wooden ones I found at Michael's. The big highlight was the sword fight with long pretzel sticks! :thumbsup2 The winner was the pirate with the longest pretzel at the end. We did many, many rounds of the sword fight. My 3 year old nephew stopped during one fight and took a big bite and exclaimed, "This pirate's getting hungry!"

Chantae's princesses were greeted with princess wands and a makeover. The table was decorated with jewels and glass slippers filled with gummy bears. They decorated jewelry boxes, played pin the crown on the princess, and drop the jewel in the bottle. My three year old niece kept wandering over to pirate island. She told me, "I'm a princess whose pretending she is a pirate!" Three year olds are really funny! :lmao:

I was very happy that Chantae chose a storebought cake because there was plenty of baking to do! Deyki had peanut, egg, and milk free cupcakes. Then there were gluten and milk free brownies for one of the princesses. Somehow it all got done!

This picture has nothing to do with the party or Disney, but it was fun. Michelle was so happy when she discovered a shopping cart just her size at a local grocery store.

Here's just another fun picture of Michelle. She is at a very fun age right now - mischevious - but fun! :cutie: I am going to miss her while we are gone. It feels like she is mine, and I ought to have the right to decide to take her with me. But alas, reality is, she isn't mine legally at this point, so all the decisions are not up to me. Early on in this process we wondered if she would even be here still. I wondered if she was too young to bring along. In the end, it really wasn't my decision to make. But, I digress - here's a picture I love of her -

100_2680.jpg

And another of her with Chantae -

Deyki was so eager to open yet another package from the Big Give! You all are so kind and generous. When we get back from our trip, I want to join in and help make some extra magic for other Wish families. It really makes the whole process even more exciting!

Please post your name if you recognize your gifts to us. When everything started arriving so fast, I still wasn't organized enough to keep package labels with gifts received - and I lost track. I'm sorry!

Here are the wonderful Autograph Books we found. The children promptly looked through them exclaiming with joy over each new character they discovered!

Then the packages started arriving even faster to the delight of us all!

Chantae enjoys her princess dress -

Those are glow in the dark beads in her hair that we bought especially for Disney. One of the things on my list to do before we leave is finish braiding and beading her hair. The bigger job is putting a weave in Nidra's hair. That can take 4-8 hours! Hopefully I will get a strong start on it today.

Here is Chantae with another dress that is so sweet on her and her bag full of treasures.

You can see glimpses of our backyard behind her. We are so blessed to have a great big yard even in the city!

Thank you for taking the time to post all these pictures! We all enjoy seeing them! That dress is really cute!

I really really love the pirate/princess games! I am taking mental notes as I am reading.

There was more in the packages from my last post.

Here is me with my Minnie mug and bag. I am sipping tea from the mug even as I post this, and the bag was used that very night to carry my Awana supplies. (I know I am breaking my own rule of making the kids wait for the trip to use their stuff, but being a mom comes with privileges!)

Deyki loves his Goofy!

100_2700.jpg

He gave Goofy a piggyback ride so you can see his fun shirt too.

Nidra squealed when she saw her Stitch!

100_2702.jpg

And her super fun Princess Tiana bag -

100_2703.jpg

I was so overwhelmed with all the fantastic gifts the Children and I have received so far. I had to get a picture of it all together. It's pretty incredible!

100_2705.jpg

Nidra was excited to open her package on a cold Chicago day.

100_2706.jpg

Thank you LisaZoe for a Tiana outfit she will be proud to wear! I am hoping we will be able to get to meet Princess Tiana on our trip.

100_2707.jpg

A few more pictures are soon to come after I transfer them from the children's computer to mine. It should be very soon!

I am fairly certain that these two outfits are from Dreamer&Wisher. Please, please correct me if I am wrong!

We are having so much fun trying on their new clothes!

100_2710.jpg

Chantae will ear this Belle dress after our lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table. She had wanted to wear the one from her birthday party all day that day, but I thought it would be too hot and get itchy. Now, thanks to Big Give, we have an excellent option that she is in agreement with! She can wear her birthday dress during the meal, and a much more comfortable Belle dress the rest of the day!

So cute! I am so glad they fit! Is Nidra's top a little short? How does she like the colors?

I love the Princess Tiana outfit too! Lisa is an artist who works in fabrics!!

I am loving all of the pictures you're posting!! Your kids are beautiful! I love how happy they look with their gifts. It's wonderful to see!

This is delightful! SQUEEL! I'm loving that the kids are all loving getting ready for their magical trip!

They fit well! Nidra's top is fine for her. She is leaning aver a little for fun in this picture. The colors are good. there were lots of smiles when they opened their package.

You're right, Lisa certainly is an artist!

This makes me feel :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I hope we see you in the parks! Say hi if you see us. You can read about our trip in my trip report. There is a link in my signature!

Thanks for sharing the photos of your beautiful children and yourself! It's such fun to see the excitement of kids when they get packages in the mail. :-)

BTW - I feel for you on the amount of time to do the girls' hair! I have to redo Zoe's braids soon and expect to spread it over several nights. I think this time we'll add some beads if she's not too impatient. I can't even imagine trying to do a weave!

I LOVE the new clothes! The girls look great in them. I can't wait to see them live and in person...I've got to see how they are put together so I can make some new things for my kiddos. There sure are some very talented seamstresses on this board!

I love the new pictures posted!! It was nice to see a picture of you Cathy! The girls look so beautiful in their new arrivals too! Thank you for sharing! The trip is getting closer and closer!!
