Deyki's Make-A-Wish - 12/15 - Maybe not

Deyki is sick. Just spiked a fever over 104 and started coughing. On the way to the hospital. Pray for someone to come get Michelle, so I can care for Deyki.

Oh geesh, was really hoping you were going to be able to avoid that, praying for you and the rest of the family :grouphug:

More prayers for you!

The last update was so wonderful and I LOVE what Nidra said! So sad that that now Deyki is sick.

joining the circle of prayer as we lift Deyki up and ask for His healing hand to be placed on Deyki and your family -

I just got off the phone with Cathy. Deyki is running a very high fever and has been admitted to the hospital with pneumonia.
Cathy is on Tamiflu since she was exposed to H1N1 and started feeling ill. She's feeling better and is at the hospital with Deyki right now.
At this time the only diagnosis is pneumonia but they are watching him and checking to see if there are any other diagnoses or complications. yes, they are checking for flu as well since it is a possibility and they have started him on Tamiflu along with several other meds.
Please add them to your prayer chain. Cathy isn't sure if she'll be able to post so I'll update as she needs me to.

I can post from Deyki's hopital room, but I have to be quick because the computer rndomly knocks me ofline. He is looking much better and will probably not be here long. He tested negative for flu. we are still waiting for the results on some other tests. He hs no fever and slept the night without needing supplemental oxygen. I just hope they don't try to send us home too fast. simply because then we would have to return to the treatment room for his next IV meds and he would be exposed to who knows what. The hard thing is, beds are in demand because so many people are sick. I think the earliest we will leave here would be tonight, late.

Meanwhile, my girls are getting fevers now too, but they don't feel sick or have any other symptoms. My sister is watching them closely.

Thanks for praying!

Good news but I'm still praying!

That is fantastic news! But, I, too am still praying hard for you guys.

The stupid test for the flu isn't even working...lots of false negatives...which is causing confusion when trying to treat all of the people sick...do they really have the flu and are testing negative? Or just a pneumonia from a cold? Who knows. But I am glad you got admitted so they could keep a close eye on him.

So glad to hear things are getting better for you all, and keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. So glad he's able to be off the O2..don't let them boot you out before you're ready, I know all too well how that goes!

My sister called and said that Nidra has a fever of 104.2 and two of her kids are feverish. Nidra's doctor called in a prescription for Tamiflu and started her on breathing treatments every 4 hours. She doesn't feel bad, thankfully. My sister is such a sweetheart who isn't complaining and is still willing to keep caring for my girls, so I can be here with Deyki.

deyki has an art therapist working with him right now, and Child Life just brought a game and asome Transformer toys into the room tokeep him content.

He is telling the art therapist all about his wish trip.

I am so glad he is able to be up and about some. And talking about his Wish Trip! :woohoo:

I am so sorry Nidra is now sick...:( Sure sounds like the flu. :sad2:

Praying for you all, especially your sweet sister for keeping the girls! :)

We are home!!!! :cool1::cool1:

Deyki is his fiesty, active self again. Nidra has no more fever. I feel decent, but exhausted. It will be good to sleep in my own bed tonight.

Now I can return to our trip report. . . .

Monday, November 2 - Day 2

We started the day early because we had ADRs at the Crystal Palace at 8:10. It was the first time the children had ever been to Disney, so it was an exciting day! They enjoyed starting it with a soak in the jacuzzi. We had an easy ride to Magic Kingdom. Once we were off the monorail, the kids were off and running!

Everyone had a great time at the Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. The chef walked me through the buffet letting me know what Deyki could and cloudn't eat. Then he prepared waffles, bacon, and sausage especially for Deyki. I don't know that he much though because he was too excited to see the characters and join in the parade. He loved the parade! At first the characters were a little scary to Deyki. He thought they would be smaller than him, not bigger than Mommy. After seeing Mom and his sisters hug Pooh, he decided they were okay after all. He thought it was very funny when Piglet had a little temper tantrum - stomping his feet and putting his hands on his hips.

Not quite certain about those characters

When we finished breakfast, we headed over to stroller rental and got a double stroller then across to town hall where we got our stroller as a wheelchair tag. Then Deyki spotted Pinocchio! He adores Pinocchio and nearly leapt out of the stroller in excitement. We got in the line and a cast manager spotted us and brought us right to the front to meet Pinocchio. He took lots of time with the children and they enjoyed every minute of it.

We continued down Main Street and caught a performance of the Main Street Performers. One of the men came over and danced with Chantae and bowed to her, much to her delight.

We had our first photopass picture taken by a photographer who also enjoyed magic. He showed the children a trick that completely captured their attention. I love the looks on their faces in this picture as they try to figure out how he did it.

As we tried to head to the attractions, Deyki discovered all the stores and merchandise stands. He is not used to having spending money and was super eager to spend it. He wanted to stop at each place he saw. He even chose to check out a gift store instead of riding Stitch's Great Escape with his sisters.

Nidra had been looking forward to the Speedway attraction, and it lived up to all her expectations.

After a few more attractions, we stopped for ice cream and drinks. Deyki loved that they had allergy friendly popsicles and fruit bars.

One of the highlights of the morining was the Buzz Lightyear ride. We all had a great time, and they let us stay on for a second go just because Deyki asked.
