In case anyone is still looking for a last minute getaway to Orlando over the holidays Southwest www.southwest.com still has flights for $59.00 from Detroit or $139.00 return including taxes. Sample is below.

Hmmm ... I don't get it ... i can fly for $59 around Christmas time, but the flight I need home for end of Jan is still $107??? They have a couple at $89, but we'd be leaving the resort b4 5AM I keep telling DH, "I'm CONFIDENT we'll get the good cheap flight for our return", but I'm really beginnning to wonder.

I know, I have time ... and I've been checking the website every morning at 6:30AM, especially on Tues/Fri email days ... but to know I could go at Christmas for that price is just mind-boggling!

Hope someone on here can take advantage of that great deal !

Thanks Webworm for reminding me to check the pricing on my already booked Southwest flights. When I went in our return flight was down to $59.00 from $129.00. Sending plenty of pixie dust your way for saving me some $$$$$.

I just checked RedTag and there is a Toronto-Orlando sale right now on Air Transat for Dec13-20. I tried 4 people with the all inclusive insurance and it cme to $1250. Pretty good considering I paid $1150 for the same thing flying Detroit-Orlando on AirTran 2 months ago.

Sounds like you may have booked already but Southwest has some good deals out of Detroit during the holidays as well. Total for 4 people is $576.00US.

I GOT my return flights! $59pp and we got the Saturday afternoon Non-Stop flight! Had to book 2 of us on Saturday, and the other 2 this morning.

So my total flights costs there and back for 4 people ... $556!

Have a great trip, Fiona! Enjoy all of those beautiful Christmas decorations. I've been spoiled because I got to go in December the last 3 years, and even though 2 of the trips were only for 3 days, we still got to soak in the magical Christmas atmosphere.

Of course, DH was a little when I suggested that I book him and DS on an Airtran flight that changed planes in Atlanta, and that we'd just "meet up in Detroit." I used that whole "I'm confident I'll get you both on the same flight, for a great price." But it was fun to mess with his head just a little. LOL

Hi Julie. No ... we're not going until Jan 24th to the 31st. I'll really miss the Christmas decorations this year ... I loved seeing them the past 3 years. Words just don't do them justice.

But I did get the pay for 4, get 3 free deal at WDW ... AND the $200 gift card on check-in.

I'm missing the Christmas decorations this year too! But getting away in the dead of winter will be so nice, MaryLiz!

I think we are going to try for Disneyland in early spring, I need something to look forward to!
