Desperately in Need of Top Hat Groom Ears!

I was just in WDW for my wedding and we have the old style of hats that we bought back in February during our PS. You would not believe how many Cast members came up asking where we got them from because guests keep asking them and they don't know where to find them. We also had several guys come straight up to DH asking him where he got them because they had searched everywhere for them. I also only saw two or three headband bride ears. I hope lurkyloo is right and that they are just out of stock because the most people we talked to prefer the older style for both the bride and groom. GL

My sister was at the World last week and I asked her to bring be back a set of the old style ears. She got me the new ones. Ugh. I managed to find the bride headband on eBay but the hunt for the top hat is on!

Wow these things are scarce! I ordered a bridal headband from yourwdwstore as soon as you said there aren't many left! They said I'll receive it in 7-21 days. I hate the new bridal style- you know like the traditional ear hats but it white with a little tiara? Ugh gag me, and that goes without saying for the new groom tuxedo style too! Someone on another board found a very gently used pair of the top hat ears for me and they just came in. They're not in bad shape- the brim is a little bent but not too bad, and they actually fit DFs big head

I'm still hoping that Disney will release more as I would prefer new ones (I think it's weird he'll be wearing someone elses ears at our wedding), but DF doesn't care- used things don't bother him (he has 2 older brothers so he's used to hand-me-downs) and when he put these on he said he felt 'sharp' Either way, we agree that we'd rather have used ones than none at all.

If they're going to remain is such short supply maybe we should organize a wedding ears exchange program lol

kjg, I have looked for you in different shops we were in, MK, Epcot, Downtown Disney etc, and i dont see them ANYWHERE i will still keep my eyes out since we are here until saturday the 18th.

Just an update...we finally got our groom ears from yourwdwstore, they're perfect!!! I know they were pricey compared to buying them at Disney, but we didn't want to chance not having them..and everything's expensive with this wedding anyway what's a few more bucks to make my fiance happy?!

I think I have some bad news...

My friend who is a CM at MK, spoke with a manager at the Chapeau. The Top Hats are discontinued and there are no plans to have it ever back in stock. Their only suggestion was ebay

Was at the Chapeau on Saturday and was told they expect to have them next month. I so wish you didn't get a different answer depending on who you talk to!

kjg5...I have a brand new set (still in the box, never worn) of the top hat groom ears and the bridal ears too. We were sent a set after our engagement from friends, after I already purchased them...If you still need them I will sell them to you. PM if you are interested.

Hey all, new to the board I'm actually sitting in my room at the Beach Club as I write this and spent a good portion of the day searching for the 'old' top hat Mickey ears. No luck. World of Disney does, however, have a TON of the bridal headbands in stock right now. Don't know how long they'll last, so get em quick!

I actually bought a set on ebay last week for $54 I wasn't sure if I should get them because the price seemed a little crazy. But my fiance and I both really like this set. We do not like the other one at all and we did not want to risk not having them for our wedding and honeymoon next year. Do you guys think that they will stop making this set?

No. When I talked to the Director of Merchandising for WDW at D23 Expo, she said the bridal headband and Mickey top hat are among their top sellers. I think this shortage is a temporary thing.

This is such a shame.

I personally think the tuxedo hat is really ugly (why a tuxedo? the brides one isn't a dress!) and I HATE having something under my chin, so wouldn't expect Jack to put up with it.

Even if they just did a headband with the black ears and then like a little hat between them (like the halloween witch ones) or black ones embroidered with 'Just married' or 'disney groom' or something. I know no ears are attractive on a grown man, but at least give them an alternative to the silly tux ones!

Guess it'll just be me in my bride ones.

At downtown disney they have a store where you can make your own hat. The have different head bands and different ears to mix and match.
